Your channel resonates with me lol. I have an 80g lowboy and want to upgrade to something similar to this (also love the euro brace). Excited to follow your build.
So do you still like the Eurobracing? I always felt that they presented issues with condensation/evaporation collecting underneath the bracing, making it look unsightly, and the inability to clip things to the rim of the tank such as light mounts and feeders. Your thoughts??
I don't mind it. I see some condensation but not enough to bother me. Yeah it can stink if you plan to clip things onto the rim but can't. I personally never clipped equipment onto the rim. I like the eurobracing for the extra support.
I had a mixed reef & fish tank (120 g) back in the 90s. Curious what the current thoughts are on glass vs acrylic are these days in terms of both cost, clarity and glass being more scratch proof.
I love glass. Acrylic is not my preference for a display tank. It’s great for a frag tank that you move a lot. Glass is heavy but the clarity has gotten better over the years and I love the scratch resistance of it.
I'm so excited to follow this build! I wanted to see one of these tanks in action. Looking at the tank you're upgrading from to this, it's going to be epic
Ok dude, you owe your dad-in-law big time😂. I am so stoked for this build...and I just got here for the first time. Instantly subbed. ...Will the warping in the glass cause a bowing or anything?. For $3K I dunno ...I would get an independent source on that warping thing...but women tend to be picky as hell...well I am..lol...long as you don't have to wait a ton of time for a replacement.
Thank you for the sub! Innovative Marine said there shouldn't be any structural integrity issues. They did send me the 15 gallon ATO container as compensation for the damage. I have that side facing the window and I put the power head over it so you can't tell. Lol. It just stinks that there was an imperfection to begin with.
I'm gonna follow along cant wait bro
Awesome video

Thanks Mitten! I love this community. Hopefully you will see if this is something you want to buy for your future build
Awesome

Can the black side panel that will cover your powerhead be peeled off with a razor blade?
100% you can definitely peel it off
inside back panel is acrylic?
It’s all glass
What are the dimensions on your tank?
How does this tank compare with red sea and waterbox tanks?
I'm not sure. I've never had any of those.
6ft?
Yep!
@@GtcoUC I'm not going to have fun helping Michael set this up lol. But pay but when my 8th 240 lol
Its easier than your 8ft tank lol
@@shallowreefing I guess we'll see lol
how much?
4000 when its not on sale
If that was made here, don’t think you can afford it, just saying. (Would you pay $10k for this if it’s made here? NOPE!)
Go get a quote from glass cages and see. It wouldn’t be 10k here, just saying. Paying 10k for a 200 gallon tank is very unreasonable
