  • You can download plans for this J.C. Walsh and Sons Engineering Co. model railway background building at πŸ˜„ www.modelbuildings.org πŸ˜„ A free catalog featuring designs for the latest buildings is also available, and the link to get this can be found on the website Home Page.
This Walsh Engineering model railway background building is one in a series of 6 new designs that can be downloaded, printed, and built to HO scale, N scale, or OO scale. These structures feature amazingly intricate detailing and weathering and look convincingly realistic when positioned at the rear of a model railway layout with rail yards and train tracks in the foreground. Add a couple of model train locomotives, maybe some tank cars, boxcars, hoppers, flat cars and you have the makings of a busy railyard scene.
This video shows the construction process of making an OO gauge building using cardboard, and corflute or foamboard. The same building can be built to HO scale or the smaller N scale size, although N scale modelers might prefer to construct their buildings entirely from cardboard instead of using foamboard or corflute. The construction process begins by downloading and printing plans for PDF paper models. The assembled paper models can be sealed with Mod Podge, or a clear matt varnish spray to provide added protection over the coming decades.
