One idea I learned to limit “bleed over” on windows, is to take an applicator and apply dabs if super glue to the edges of where the window is going to go. It reduces the “bleed over.”
I like the music but maybe turn it down a bit. Thanks for the video. It was very informative. I'm looking for INTERIOR FRONTS like they have in the DPM Built and Ready buildings. Mine will not be lit, so I don't need it super fancy. I just want something to hint at the interior and not look as though my tiny renters have moved out. A hardware interior for Baxter Hardware, a sporting goods interior for Shotz Guns And Tackle, etc. I do like the way your buildings look glued together so I'll probably do that to mine also. Thanks. I have purchased the N scale Town & Factory set but haven't began assembling any of them yet. I thought I would get info first. My plan is to spray paint the interior sections first with black, then, when dry, flip them over and paint the exterior sections white. I'm hoping this might look like grout if I can somehow dry brush the bricks properly. At least it will paint the trim white where needed. I also thought that I would use cardboard for the roof (for strength) and then glue a piece of sandpaper on top of that to give a roughish texture and then paint it black. There are things called tea candles. Candles about 1/4" tall and the size of a quarter. You use them in small, glass candle holders. They also have tea lights that are battery operated. They might be useful to "test" your lighting. Simply place down four turned on and place your connected buildings over them. It might give you and idea of how to fill the lighting cracks. If your buildings aren't attached to the layout, it might provide that "at home glow" without the need to run wires everywhere. Again, thank you for this very informative video.

Sadly this is a very old video and I am going to be completely breaking those buildings down and doing them over to hopefully raise the quality level to match the rest of the buildings I have built in my more recent video series beginning in about 2 weeks. I see that the video is 2 years old now but instead of plastic vellum, have you ever tried paper vellum - old style drafting paper. It will give you the opaqueness of the plastic sheet but the adhesive flexibility of paper. I used to use it for providing depth in architectural models over 30 years ago.
I like your videos but I'm having trouble doing interiors for Ho buildings the one in particular is the DPM kit JC Nickels. I can't seem to make an interior fit the building on one floor at a time/ What if any is the secret to making that picture fit the building? I have the Window Designer Model builder etc. but the interiors provided in the software does not seem to work. I must be missing something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The building I'm working on at the moment is MT Arms a DPM kit. Perhaps you know where you can get wide angle photo's that can be expanded in width but still stay proportioned.

Good job on the videos I have seen. But I have to say that purchasing the program you used to create your interior windows has so far been the biggest waste of money I have so far spent within the thousands of dollars that have gone into my layout. I would have been far better off had I just continued to use my own photo's or the free ones that can be found all over the internet! Just had to modify their size to fit N scale was all, by using the free photo program that came with my computer! . The few window interiors offered (about 12 or 14 without going back to program to count) do not represent anything I wish to use as a store front nor restaurant! and nowhere can I find a way to import my own images. And I'm not even going to go into the DPM "sized" window images that are supposed to be used with specific kits. Nor the Walls, etc. from the other programs. Everything is so cartoonish on my screen that I feel it would be a waste of ink to print them! Even the automated "registration" would not complete when I tried to send that to get help and updates! In my humble opinion it is not user friendly, and very poorly done, and should not be purchased! Very disappointed! you may want to consider removing that plug from your video :(
D Price I’m sorry to hear you didn’t like the software. I have been using it for a couple years now and you are right the stock images for windows and interiors is not great and was disappointed with the software as well and as a rule I don't use them either. I import all my images for that from things I downloaded from the internet such as doors wall textures and any special signs I may need and am able to size them correctly within the software. If you look at part 4 of my Ho union station build at about 12-13 minutes in I show how to import images. I hope this helps.
Yup I went back and rewatched this video and there is a total of 10-20 seconds where focus might be an issue the rest of the almost 30 minute video is fine. So I say if you don’t watch the whole video don’t waste my time with your comment
