This is the first time I've heard one of these things acknowledge adventures in Odyssey

I am glad someone finally acknowledges his role on adventures in odyssey. He was always my fav as Mr. Whitaker and also my favorite as Otis on the Andy Griffith show. Imagine my surprise when I found out the were the same.
That might be why in the last mayberry movie (I haven't seen it) he plays an icecream man.
From what I hear he was alot like his Mr. Whitaker character.

The other day I was listening to the last few episodes he was in. I rarely ever listen to the episodes from the early days of AIO anymore they are so ancient now.

@@dvferyance how funny, I hardly listen to the new ones. Of course I do get them from the library and they aren't very good at keeping up.
I remember the first time I heard Andre I thought it was a Mr. Riley flashback. He sounds just like the guy who passed away that played him and Bernard Walton.
It still throws me off lol.
Might be why I like the older ones.

@@HopeKing I listen to the ones the most that were released around 2003-2008.I listen to the Novacom era and the late 90's not as often but on occasion. I never listen to any of the post 2008 reboot episodes because it's really more like a spin off show. So basically I listen to mostly the Paul Herlinger era. I wish they jsut would have ended the show then a 3rd Whit actor that's getting kind of crazy.

That is what I first known him to be. Although I did later adjust to Paul Herlinger being Whit.

Nice work summarizing an epic career that any actor who works for the love of the craft would envy. Married once. What a wonderful life!

I think Hal Smith did a brief appearance in the move "The Apartment" as a drunk Santa Clause in a brief bar scene.
