      Yes, this is really rare... And not in the contemporary journalist style listening which is to find out the nooks to throw the hooks, to progress through contradiction,; but a listening in which the interviewer is learning and moving "together" like K has emphasized - yet still thinking independently.

    "This is very, very different from what many artists conceive of as their task. Especially in modern times, artists have this notion that they are, in some sense, reflectors of the fragmentation of their times. And so they make a statement which holds up the fragmentation as a mirror to us, and what has this got to do with anything else but reinforcing the fragmentation?" Allan W. Anderson 🙏👏 3:16

      Yes, K says the artist is usually perceived as being an outsider, but really he/she is just an ordinary person, although more sensitive and alert to beauty, nature, etc. And so their task is to be a full human being, and then whatever they do will be creative. (1:27)
      I understand that to mean that because an artist a vehicle for bringing creative expression into the world (due to that innate sensitivity and alertness), they will naturally be creative, and so their effort can be put into their being a human being and their relationship to nature, etc. rather than making an effort that is more outward or outside of oneself.
      (Reminds me of the "pure observation of oneself with attention and with affection", "change begins from where you are", "not pursuing an ideal of non-violence but rather simply observing that you are violence" themes of K, but applied to creative expression.)
      I'd like to see more art generated from that place. And there are probably a lot of people who are artists in that pure sense but who don't realize it.

    In today's modern world which operates like a never resting machine, people don't have the time to reflect on the beauty around them. Artists are sensitive, curious, childlike and are viewed as an entity that is alien to the society which seems sad. I believe everyone is an artist, we all possess the sensitivity required to perceive beauty, we just forget that we are all artists, because of the lifestyle we have created for ourselves. And as K says if we are whole human beings that is if we possess the art of living, everything we do will be art.

There people which create beautiful art but they are not artist. Be an artist is not related to bring external results but involved to internal perceptive journey.

      @@rajanishchandradikshit4467 if K teachings are beyond success and failures , happiness and sorrows mean he is talking about non-dual nature of existence and that is nothing but the core lesson of Vedanta but K is master in articulating all Indian sanatana/eternal knowledge without giving a single credit. Space/intelligence beyond body and mind is the foundation of all existence and that can only be experienced. Life/creation itself is the most unique art in my opinion and artist is the creator and it is one and same. Anything we do with full awareness/attention becomes an art in itself, true art is effortless.

      In mocking , and translating into words, it keeps getting reinforced … that’s what thoughts and words do…
      JK didn’t want us to even “fight for justice”… instead develop compassion within through “observation/ attention to whatever is - within and without”…
      That compassion/ intelligence / Truth ( not yours or mine, but above us all) will guide us on what to think/ do / say etc …

      Your everyday life, second by second, is the true art. It is common to committ yourself to an "art form", which may look beautiful, all the while you as a human being only perpetuate the disorder you may point out through your art.
      There is nothing wrong with being creative, but don't escape your life through one particular little form of creativity, making it all-important.
      That's how I saw it, hope it helped.

      “If there is an understanding of nature, of life, that is whole (!) “ ...then the expression of e.g. the artist’s (of al human beings) relationship with it is creative. If the artist wants to become something, or is seeking something with his art, sets himself apart (outsider) then there is division and he’s in a trap. The art becomes a means to an end (my interpretation) and that will never satisfy or be creative...”then the art becomes extremely important to him and the people” (dualism) That he was refering to in the beginning of the video. -> So, what is an artist? 🙃

      I think the point here is that art by fragmented people will also be a fragment. I can also point out the horror of murder by murdering somebody. Or I can do something that has nothing to do with horror whatsoever, including emphasizing it by pointing it out.

    • @mindyourstep1028
      @mindyourstep1028 3 года назад +1

      There’s nothing wrong with that (nor good). If I understand correctky what’s being said...There is this idea though, that the so called sublime (in “great art”) can not arise out of an attempt to illustrate something material, or to derive some artistic idea out of fragmentation, such as “to create awareness of a wordly issue”, what makes the artwork more like a one-dimensional political pamflet or claim (what I found not interesting, but then, who am I?) . Then there is nothing else but to recognize, agree or disagree, to like or not like it, because of personal taste etc., but no pointer for the audience to freely-whatever-seems-to-happen when looking at some great art, which one often cannot put into words. A sublime meaningless creation, e.g. music that totally absorbes you, but there’s no association with something else in it. *art that “moves”)

    • @vehumana
      @vehumana 3 года назад

      True, BUT the question is why there is fragmentation to begin with?. We have broken the life into innumerable fragments and then "by being aware of them" we try to make them whole, which is impossible. Because as long as the human mind, perceives and operates fragmentally, there is no end to this cycle. "First be a total human being and then whatever you do would be beautiful" - JK . A mind that is whole in itself, perceives and acts holistically.

      Does he? you can show the existence of fragmentation without creating or exposing a fragment. Most do the latter, appeal to raw emotion to shock/impress the(ir) truth into you. As you see daily, this method doesn't work, people don't change except superficially. And next time the shock must be even greater in order to impress.
