Hi Bo! Wonderful that you bought the class 194 locomotive. It was a real powerful freight locomotive that was also used in commuter traffic in front of Silberlinge when I was a kid. A couple of these locomotives were also used by Rail4U until about 2014 when an accident (fault of other operator) brought the company to its knees. Enjoy this model! Cheers, Axel
About the Light that is mounted above the bogie - that is a “Anfahrtslampe” that loosely translates to “startup light”. It was briefly illuminated as power was applied to the locomotive so that the engineer could certify that the locomotive was actually moving instead of having wheel slippage. Once a locomotive was moving, the light would go off. Unfortunately, that is not programmed that way on this model.
Hi Axel, thanks for the explanation of the Anfahrtslampe! I imagine this is a very handy lamp in the mountainous areas to get going with a large freight train. Cool - Enjoy ;-)
Hi Bo what a great Loco. I saw this Loco daily, when I was a teenager. The approach lamp is for the train driver, to see in the night, if the Loco is in move. When the train is very heavy and the Loco with the train will start to go, he must see, that the Loco is slowly moving, and not the engine hum is hearing only. Because when the engine hum is hearing and the Loco is not moving, the engine will break.
Hi Thomas, thanks for the information! I can imagine this is very useful for the engineer in snowy conditions in the mountains. Didn't it could actually hurt the engine. Thanks! Enjoy ;-)
Nice video and information! I was planning to buy this locomotive but i plan to build up Märklin layout "Nebenbahn" III-IV without catenary so i will wait for it. Bad luck is that this model does not produce anymore time by Märklin. Maybe a new upgrade is on the way?
Hi Anders, Sounds like you are planning a great layout! Era III-IV are the most interesting ;-) I am sure it will be available in the future again as this locomotive is a favorite of the Märklin enthusiasts. That being said I probably just jinxed it and it will be quite some years before a new model is available :-( I do not know of a new one on the way and I suspect that the next model will a re-issue as they did quite some nice upgrades on this one. I guess we will see. Enjoy ;-) Bo
Yup - I really like this locomotive and wanted it with the coal cars. Unfortunately I did not have the Märklin 47370 at the time I made the video. I do have it now, but unfortunately still in a box :-( Will bring it out one day! Enjoy ;-)
@@Avrenac Unfortunately I have to purchase the locomotives to be able to unbox them and I do not have an unlimited budget. I mostly get more modern locomotives and once in a while a steam locomotive. I will unbox steamers if I get one, but it make take a while...
Hi John, I am using my cell phone to make the videos. I think a reason this picture is clear is the lighting. I have found that one of the most important parts when filming is making sure the layout is well lighted. Enjoy ;-)
@@ModelTrainFun I also use my cell phone to make the videos I upload on RUclips. After I finish the track plan and set it up and running, I will also use my cell phone to see the quality.
Hi Mike, unfortunately I did not order the 06 001 - kind of regretting it now as it looks like a nice model. But you can't have them all... Which pike wagons are you thinking about? Enjoy ;-)
The pike wagons are 42265. I ordered the loco and wagons in December 2021 and Marklin still has not shipped them. The reason I ordered loco is I have two sk 800's and a 3094. All the same body style. Could not pass this one up!
@@mikedulle1149 Ahh the matching passenger cars for the 06 001. I through a pike car was a freight car... 🤣. Unfortunately I did not order either the 06 001 or the matching cars - all look fantastic. I already had quite a bit on my pre-order list, so I ran our of budget... Enjoy ;-)
I'm sure you are a member of the Insider Club, so look at the marklin insider club news, issues 06.2021 and 01.2022 and are you will see they refer to the wagon set as pike cars. Hechtwagen. "Hecht" (pike).

Beautiful model Bo. Superb fine details. Looks right pulling the hopper wagons. I expected the pantograph to rise.
Hi Geoff, moving pantographs would indeed have been a nice feature. Enjoy ;-)

Great loco! At 13:15 I wondered if you could have unboxed 47370 off the bench and shown that behind the loco ;)
