Tested some things with the sharpshooter revolver variant, found some cool stuff so I rushed the thumbnail to get this out quick. No commentary. #Ultrakill
@@Bocadile yeah I’ve seen people dunking on Piercer now but if you’re rocking the Slab Sharpshooter the Piercer is still great while it’s on cooldown. Now we have 2 charge pistols: one that’s a great all-rounder and one that’s great for trick shots and cramped spaces. It might need some slight damage adjustments but it’s overall a fitting compliment to Piercer I’d say.
@@dell988 Yes! I’m rocking Slab Piercer, default Marksman, and Slab Sharpshooter and let me tell ya. It’s a beast kit. By the time you use up your resources for one pistol, another one is charged up.
@@Scionmaster5213 Yea that’s honestly the most likely candidate for P-3, assuming we don’t get another character in Violence or Fraud that would be suitable for that.
you guys have to realise that act 3 enemies won't solely be balanced around this weapon it costs like 12k points in the terminal, so you're meant to unlock it in limbo at the very latest, so the red revolver is balanced around new players getting it very early on
Piercer: Good and reliable damage dealer with little downtime. Marksman: Amplifies a powerful force and makes it even more powerful. Sharpshooter: Power balanced by downtime. Every revolver has its use, Piercer is consistent damage, Marksman makes even a small pistol shot hit like a goddamn truck, and the Sharpshooter rewards precise aim and positioning with a lot of damage. The SS may need a few tweaks regarding the absurdity of its damage (we don’t need anything one tapping FP or Pinos), and then we will be good.
Some things I missed are: 1. All of Gabriel's sword throw attacks 2. The swords that Gabriel summons around him in phase 2 3. Gabriel's 2nd fight homing swords 4. Very Cancerous Rodent's explosive projectiles Edit: number 2 got patched
v2 first had piercer, then marksman, and now we have sharpshooter. from this pattern, i say... "v3" is gonna have this gun. get ready for a special hell.
There is no "v3" though, in the lore there are only 2 existing models of the "V" warmachine, and only one of each was ever built before the project was cancelled. Unless they change the lore, I guess they could, but I don't think that's likely
@@Red-fu5nbOr maybe they can make something like v3 being a machine made by angels/demons based on v1 and v2 after they saw how effective these two are, and its made specifically to stop v1's descension into hell and then possibly going up to heavens and massacring everyone there aswell
the piercer is still viable compared to the sharpshooter, since the sharpshooter needs walls to act like a mini-railcannon whereas the piercer does it no matter what so in the cybergrind the sharpshooter is only good for destroying projectiles (although a bunch of the new patterns do have higher walls... >:])
Note: Projectiles are reflected by the large explosions created by the Richochet Revolvers "Parry" explosions. This means with enemies like Maurice it is best to wait until they have shot a bit of their volley, that way it's more likely you'll one-shot them with their own projectiles. This same logic applies to the leviathan and the CHAOS triangle
While I think we all know this is going to get nerfed into the ground, but we have to find a way for it to both be balanced, but also have a legitimate use like all the other weapons to keep it fun. The piercer is really good for slabcoining, so I think that the sharpshooter should not be as effective as the piercer when it comes to that damage. I find what the gun should be used for tight corners and enclosed spaces. I also enjoy the idea of a player having to line up his shots geometrically, and having to think ahead before firing. The fact that they took the time to line up their shot instead of just spraying and praying though should be heavily rewarded with a lot of damage from the bouncing shots in my opinion I also like the projectile destruction, but I don't know how to keep that in without it being completely busted honestly.
The projectile destruction was actually originally supposed to be the primary feature, but that alone was too weak, so Hakita added the scrapped ricochet mechanic from the early iteration of the revolver.
It's limits for normal gameplay. Only carries 3 charges. Given this ricochet has autoaim coded, that means SOME caution is necessary (For example, don't use this if there's a higher priority on its autoaim code that will explode in your face). In a sense, the drawback should be just that there's a mandatory spin-up time to deliver the alt-fire
another tech I like to use is to position an enemy so that there is a surface in front of it and behind it (distance doesnt matter), then use the alt sharpshooter charge attack, making the bullet bounce back and forth until it stops
secret tip: you can use the sharpshooter as a replacement for the rail-cannon to pierce enemies numerous times, this is best explained when using sharpshooter in P-2 during the cerberus encounter.
One thing you can do is throw a coin walking backwards and switch to the sharpshooter immediately and start charging and then punch the coin. Gives you enough time to fully charge the sharpshooter for a coin shot in areas with lower ceilings instead of having to throw the coin super high.
Honestly the best nerf I can think of would be instead of bouncing off coins, it destroys them. Like it picks up extra damage for hitting a coin, but it doesn't ricochet off it, it just keeps going through. It does that for every other projectile, so it would make sense for it to pierce through coins as well
that sounds fucking retarded, nothing else in this game has recoil and the whole root of the reference is being able to control the recoil of a revolver so it would just be inaccurate too
@@Mate_Antal_Zoltan my bad, that comment was just some sort of shower thought before i tried the new update. recently tried the weapon, its fun af and definitely viable. Just wish for this to have more unique synergies with other weapons.
Hakita better arm us with the most comedically powerful weapon by the time Act 3 releases because I don't think a big rock and bouncing bullets can prepare us for whatever Lucifer Prime or Lilith Prime is in P-3
Kinda like the piercer and alt piercer; the alt version only has 1 charge and gets increased hits from coins. The slab version also fires like the indev marksman did.
If you haven't played many other games in this genre it may take more time to get used to, but I caught on quick and practiced to get better. It probably only took me a few hours to get decent at it, and there is no multiplayer.
This is probably the first unlock where I'm genuinely on the fence on whether it's balanced or not. Fun? Absolutely. Shit, just pressing Alt-fire is more interesting than most weapons. Balanced? eh. I've always appreciated how enemy projectiles were a constant threat unless you got within melee range- putting you in more danger- in order to deal with them. Giving the player an option to deal with them at long range- also with a basically homing attack with it being able to bounce off walls- just feels cheap and gimmicky for the sake of "new stuff"
So basically, not only is Sharpshooter just cool, it’s also effectively the closest thing to a ranged parry. This is incredible.
I thought initially that it was just a more powerful piercer, but you can do much more with it, and it looks more cool too.
