    A lot of craft RUclipsrs are questionable at best, especially RUclipsrs that focus on Etsy. This is a breath of fresh air. Thank you for making business registration seem less intimidating. I'm from Jersey and the process is very similar.

    Love your videos! They're easy to follow, keep me engaged and super resourceful. Question for you, should you open a business bank account from the beginning or wait until you're registered (making a steady income) and need to keep transactions seperate? What's your recommendation?

    • @CricketsBay

      Immediately. Always keep business and personal finances separate for tax purposes. It can cause a lot of problems if you don't.

    I do have a question. When I do start my “business”, until I know I’ll make more than $5000 a year can I just keep doing my thing as a “hobby” and not register it and not pay taxes or how does it work? New in the country so literally everything is new for me.
    Xoxo

      I would encourage you to consult with an accountant/tax specialist for all the specifics/government rules at both state and federal levels, to avoid any mistakes/to be safe legal-wise.

    Does this apply to Etsy shop owners or would it be a different process?

    • @lisad6721
      @lisad6721 2 года назад

      Etsy states something along the lines of the vendors abiding by law/requirement for a business according to their jurisdiction. For example, i'm interested in starting up my own business through Etsy, however I will be registering it because according to my province (canada), I must register my business. That's just my research knowledge, I'm no professional though.

    Do you need to EIN for taxes purposes?

    • @AmyMakesThat
      @AmyMakesThat  3 года назад +1

      If you have your business registered, it is recommended and also depends on the type of business! You’ll need an EIN # to file taxes, open a business bank account, and apply for business licenses. Some wholesale websites will also ask for an EIN #.

    • @Meggggomyeggo
      @Meggggomyeggo 3 года назад +2

      It depends on the business structure. A sole prop or single member LLC may use their social security number for tax purposes and opening a business bank account. Source: it’s my job to collect documents to open business accounts for a national bank. You do not need an EIN for either of those structures to apply for a business license.

    How come you picked a S-corp over llc?

    • @dropshoteverything8149
      @dropshoteverything8149 2 года назад

      S corp is so that if you get sued, only your “business” side that will get sued, not your personal.
