As an former hardcore AEW fan, I slowed way down in 2022, now I only watch ppvs. This is one of the main reasons. Where are the stories? WWE right now is doing a far better job of week to week story telling and the ratings are reflecting that.

I took a friend who doesn’t watch wrestling to Forbidden Door last night because I got cheap tickets. I thought as bad as AEW has been, it still should be fun live. There were several points in the evening I felt embarrassed that this is something I enjoy. As someone who has never watched wrestling, he pointed out things that bug me constantly such as “this guy is a lot smaller than the guy he’s fighting”.
I found myself saying things like “yeah the guy in jeans, his whole thing is….he’s a chill guy and puts his hands in his pockets” and “she thinks she’s an old school Hollywood actress and everyone is just going along with it.” When Billy Gunn came out and the crowd started chanting “scissor me daddy”, I just looked at him and said “I’m not even gonna try to explain on this one”. THESE ARE THE CASUAL VIEWERS YOU ARE TURNING AWAY AEW. This is why the ratings are down, because things are stupid and don’t make sense. Even if you watch the show every week, they’re still dumb and don’t make sense. Compared to the Smackdown I went to Friday with my brother, this show sucks.
One day my friend sent me a clip of Orange Cassidy giving fake leg kicks to Pac and the crowd going along with it. He captioned "this is wrestling now? 😂"
I laughed but it still pissed me off. That day I understood why Jim always says that wrestlers nowadays are ruining wrestling for the casual group. It really is embarrassing
I have a buddy who was a casual attitude era fan that messaged me one day excited to see the Hardy Boys was back together in AEW. He hadn't watched any of the promotion before but was pumped too see one of his favorite tag teams back together. I don't think he even watched a months worth of the product before turning it off for good.

CM Punk publicly criticised AEW at a press conference and was involved in two fights with co-workers. In any other workplace, you would be fired, so why should AEW be any different?
There has been no backstage tension or fights in AEW since Punk left. Not one backstage incident (I wonder why).
If not having two bitter old turds like Bret or "I'm injured again" CM Punk are the reasons you are failing, AEW aren't doing too bad then.
Bret is a washed up old Canadian turd who yells at clouds and once Triple H stops being Punk's bitch just to appease fans and Punk complains that he isn't headlining every card, WWE will kick him into retirement as well.

AEW owner on low ratings: "Everything is great! Some shows would kill to have our ratings." This sums up AEW's ownership, a wrestler is more worried about falling ratings and trying to increase fans and ratings, while the owner is just complacent in maintaining the dwindling numbers.
AEW Forbidden Door went 3 hours (4 1/2 if including Pre Show), 14 matches where 2/3 don't belong to the PPV, and the best match was Takagi vs Danielson.
The worst match was Naito vs Moxley.

AEW dynamite hasn't been good since they embarrassingly aired the CM punk and jack perry footage it's all been downhill after that at this point I've given up on AEW jim cornette and Brian last reviewing these shows always makes me laugh I enjoy that more than dynamite plus the constant dream matches and bad women's wrestling mercedes mone segments and the elite's awful comedy how is it possible that vince mcmahon being removed from WWE is the single worst thing to ever happen to AEW?

AEW beat NXT last week by 69k. AEW is on par with WWE's developmental. I'm curious to hear the numbers for Forbidden Door now. If people don't want to watch the free stuff, I can't see them shelling out $50 for a ppv.
Their ppv buys have ranged from 45k (all in pre-aew, their worst) - 215k (all out 2021, their best). Forbidden door had 140k in 2022. Couldn't find 2023 results. Hopefully, they got more buys than TNA's last ppv.
I think Jim will need to dedicate the entire Experience to the AEW Forbidden Door review
