    Jim Cornette sold a piledriver for a week, but some of the current WWE people can't even sell their opponent's finisher for 5 seconds after receiving it.

    • @bdr113080
      @bdr113080 5 лет назад +7

      Hell he sold it for a few weeks. They would never do just a pile driver. Both guys would have to be on the top rope and their would be 3 flips with it. That would also be the first move of the match today to. Watched you guys awkwardly helping each other on the top rope was a guy that’s receiving the movies doing more of the flips and the guy giving the move and they just hope they land right so the right guy gets the move done to him. After this move hits the pile driver from the top rope with three flips, the guy that is having the move done to him should know sell it and then immediately the guy they supposedly gave him the move should be a little dreary But not dreary enough to help the guy he just pile drive it off the top rope back up to the other top rope so they can do another move with a flip. Since this will be the eighth match on the card that they have seen the exact same thing from the first seven most people will be asleep but since this is an about what’s going on in the ring for today’s fans they start chanting this is awesome anyway.

      Guys I love Corny and classic wrestling as much as everyone else here, but times change man. You have to progress and do new things. I see people on here saying that Corny needs to do the sole booking and such for a wrestling organization, again I love Corny and think he is a genius...but you'd all be saying its boring and the rating would tank. You have to have a blend, its as simple as that.

    The thing I love about Jim Cornette is his loyalty. It seems that if you do good by him, you got a friend and colleague for life. You wrong him in any way, you're fucked. Brutally honest with no filter. I wasn't really a "rasslin" fan, but thru his podcast and stories, I love looking up the stuff he talks about. He makes me a fan. One of the best minds, people, and characters in the entire industry.

      It's just too bad that Jimmy started Smokey Mountain back in the early 90s instead of the late 90s. Who knows, if Jim started Smokey Mountain just a few years later, but everything else stayed the same, including his relationship with the WWF to trade talent, then maybe he could've kept Smokey Mountain going.
      I honestly believe that wrestling should be regional instead of national. Back when it was regional we had wrestlers who didn’t all look the same and wrestle the same, because they all learn from the same trainers and coaches. Now that it's a narional monopoly, all the wrestlers look the same, they wrestle the same, nobody sells anything anymore, and as a result, even though the guys are much better athletes today and live a much healthier lifestyle, the product isn't as interesting to watch.

      Also with that ending to that Title Match to Summer Slam 93 with that celebration made no sense. It made Luger like he won the Title which he did not. With the Celebration to Brett Hart's match at Mania 10 where he won the title that made sense because because of the result of the match. Another reason why Luger didn't get the title is because of what happened with the Lex Express ordeal from what other Podcasts that I have listened to have said on the Summerslam of 93. The WWF weren't as hostile towards Bret as towards DB - if not for Hogan's backstage games, Bret would probably have had a solid 2 year plus title reign Oct '92 - Survivor Series 94 - but it did feel like recompence for the atrocity that was the finish of WMIX when Bret was shat on by Hogan's ego. At WM10, the WWF recognised that and said sorry to Bret and the fans, that's what it felt like.

    I am so glad you wore that neckbrace to sell the other story. I miss when people took wrestling seriously. Today people have a promo where they beat the shit out of each other and the next they are hugging on Twitter. Or should I say Shitter. And they are not in bandages or even seem to have a scrape on them. And they wonder why the business isn't doing well. Personally I don't get how people get over or get heat in today's wrestling. By the way I love that hallway you have Jim. I saw you in a video at your home with Bobby Heenon. I just thought that hallway was so cool. Viceland.

(And that's why Corny knows this stuff - he has his financial records and journals to jog his memory.) Actual businessmen don't rely on magic memory skills - it's dangerous and neither the IRS nor the court system is impressed by recollection without written evidence.
