Hey Joel! Love your channel and so honored that you'll be reviewing The Plum Island Horror! I think it's awesome that GMT took a chance with my design, as it is outside their normal wheelhouse, but they knocked it out of the park with their support and production. Yes, it is thematically linked with my Dawn of the Zeds game, but Plum Island Horror is designed to be primarily cooperative right out of the gate and is also less punishing than Zeds. The Hyrule and Donkey Kong Country music gets me in the feels. I can tell you branch out when it comes to hobbies and that’s great. Oathsworn and Kinfire Chronicles have been the games that I’ve been playing this year so far and it seems that they will both consume a fair amount of time for the foreseeable future. In the video game front, I’ve been playing the new Prince of Persia (which is a phenomenal Metroidvania) as well as Another Code (formerly known as Trace Memory). Both hobbies have been enjoyable this year so far.
Prince of Persia looks great. I will pick it up when it hits a sale... The problem with me and video games is my attention span is measured in minutes.. and then I just go back to playing UO Outlands :)
Great video! It's too bad you had unsatisfying experiences with Heat. I think I only saw one spin-out in my 3-4 sessions with the game, and I wonder if enjoyment is tied to how often that happens, since it really sucks when it happens.
I was disappointed by the Journalist in Arnak. I felt like the cost for getting the articles was too high. I almost always had something better I could do with a card than spend an extra travel icon to gain the article.
Ya. It might be a bit of a slow burn, and/or you might have to force yourself to play for the extra travel icons. I was talking about it with a friend, and they mentioned it's more difficult to get the journalist going in a competitive game. Jury's still out for me. Since, I've played it five times now in the campaign, I think I could pull it off? Will have to see.
I mean I hope everyone likes the games they put their cash on. But man is Heat so overrated. One of the most overrated games of the last few years by a mile.
