I am glad you agree with not removing chat because for VODs it is very useful to see what you are commenting on in chat. Some people will restate all the messages from chat but when they miss a couple it makes it hard to follow.
This sort of complexity, like the that last play near the end, is why MTG is just world's ahead of Hearthstone, YugiOh, and other card games. MTG has the best mechanics in any game and gives the best balance of open responses while giving priority on turns, it's nearly perfect for a card game.
Having played Knight of the Reliquary back then in legacy it really comes up from time to time, where Wastelanding your own duals nets you that extra damage that could make the difference.
The immeasurable sadness when I see a new vintage cube video appear, only for it to have been on twitch and I've seen it already. I THIRST FOR MORE CONTENT. (Thanks for the videos LSV!)
Hi LSV - I love both cube and HS battlegrounds. Would you please link or spell the stream you mentioned at 2:36? I can’t seem to find it. Thank you and keep up the excellent content!!
That Knight play at the end swinging at Nissa, then strip mining your own land to pump and kill it.... that was fucking pro af, I wouldn't have even thought of that play if I had 5 min to think about it lol...
One of my favorite cards of all time as the thumbail plus LSV? Sign me up automatic like. I used to abuse Recurring Nightmare since Bone Shredder was a viabile Survival target
Damn this draft was a masterpiece, the 4 color non-blue good stuff deck, and they say LSV always drafts blue (or storm), but this draft is such good shit man, only a Fastbond away from perfection.
When I really got into MTG it was 9th edition standard and I played a magnivore deck. People really hated getting their lands destroyed or bounced Deck went like this 1 st turn sleight of hand, 2nd turn boomerang your land, 3rd turn stone rain your land, 4th boomerang/demolish/Stone rain your land again ", drop a magnivore, wildfire and apply the beats. Watching people draw and say go for multiple turns was satisfying but I get my opponents frustration cause now they're not playing magic. People would get so sour when they had three lands in play, a couple creatures, against your 6/6 magnivore and then you wildfire.
What Locke book are they talking about? In the comments someone says the third Locke book is good but nothing compares to the first. Id like to know im interested in reading it if its good
After taking strip mine, dont you slam the roffellos? Green has the second crucible, 3 ways to make multiple land drops, mana elves to keep you on curve while you strip/waste. I know he said he was intentionally building a ridiculous deck, but if you're trying to get the most out of strip mine i think you try to stick to mono green.
@@ChannelFireball is there a better place to discuss cube strategy? RUclips comments haven't been the best for a back and forth conversation. Who knew?
Are you supposed to pick one card, and already be set on a deck in vintage cube? Lsv picks the strip mine, then his next points are all " the deck, the deck, the deck. You've got one card for " the deck ". I know in vintage cube you wanna at least pick a direction that you're going.. But is this him forcing a strip mine deck cause he wants to, or is this the " right thing to do ". I guess thats what I'm asking lol..
lets give people the benefit of the doubt, but in a lot of lsv's matches the opponent is just sitting there doing nothing for no apparent reason. its like lsv's speeches/stories are enchanting the ghost into a trance.
Is vintage cube drafting while cooking ribs the most LSV thing you could do?
pretty high up there, yeah (LSV)
If only he forced storm without a wincon and got gutshot for the lose.
LSV's rib recipe:
Dry rub:
Salt
pepper
paprika
brown sugar
Chili powder
Mustard
Cook 3 hrs uncovered
2 hours wrapped in foil and basted with brown sugar apple vinegar sauce
1 hour:
put on BBQ sauce

@@tequilashooter23 I think he said between 200-230.
LSV this was a VERY fun deck to watch, keep up the good work man. Hope the Vintage cubes keep coming
oh they will - check back in a few hours for another (LSV)
That play to kill the Nissa is why you're the man you are
You're the man LSV! I love watching you draft.
appreciate it, i also love drafting so it works out (LSV)
This spree of cube videos has made my life so much better! Now I’m going to go sign up for CFB pro even though I don’t actively play anymore.
Lsv cube videos are the best thing to watch on a study break. Pure value
I guess LSV is the guy who keeps taking all the fetches so my mana never works.
Take them over the sweet cards. That's the trick
Having mana to play cards is apparently underrated lol. I’m also a land guy...you can blame me too 😉

I love how magic is such a complex game that strip mining your own land is not just a valid, but a good play

I gennerally only enjoy draft videos the first time. But I find my self always comming back to this one.
One of the best Cube drafts, loved to see LSV force a pretty different deck to his usual blue/storm preference:)
33:20 LSV sings "Lafayette" then speaking his next sentence in a metronomic time.
nice
The man has range. That's why he''s pro.
Lsv is always in time.
Gaby messaging about ribs on Twitch is next level. 😂

LSV Vintage Cube is one of my favorite series
LSV's George W. Bush laugh everytime he gets the strip mine combo going 👌👌👌

I'm a simple man i see LSV vintage draft and my night is spoken for
... what was the 15th card in p1p1?
Edit: using the magic of looking at p1p9, I was able to determine that it was a Boros Signet.
Thanks for all the cube content. It's the most wonderful time of the year~

Can't stop won't stop watching LSV. :)
Ha, I love watching LSV draft and play cube. Feel like he gets real aggro with chat questions though.
Awesome to see you spicing up the draft
So interesting hearing LSV talking about D&D, especially about Tomb of Annihilation!!!
And now its in mtg!! :)

somehow i had this sense that when you said "strip mine decks" you weren't talking about aggro
I was literally wondering if lsv has played slay the spire a few weeks ago, happy to hear him talk about it here
He can’t keep getting away with this

The Lies of Locke Lamora - first book is incredible the rest are alright
Cube is my favorite format too

this is the best deck I've ever seen you draft!!!
Your humming made me wanna rewatch mulan, thanks LSV haha
Gain control of target permanent until end of turn. Untap it. It gains haste until end of turn. @1:14:57
Why did the Jeskai deck play Mom and then never use it to save their creatures???
I just love strip mine + Knight of the Reliquary + Ramunap lol.. all day baby.
Best quotable movie has to be the boondock Saints.
I really want to clip lsv drawing derretti and edit in the kill bill sirens lmao perfect moment
Let's get down to business to defeat the Huns.
I'm happy that you're starting to put mana rocks on the same pile as creatures, but planeswalkers should go there as well.
They’re glorified enchantments

Thx for such a informative video - you're the man!

These cube drafts are more like Recurring Daydream 😇
you could have drawn your whole deck and kill all their creatures with yawgmoth +sun titan at 31:31
4 color LSV Good Stuff
OH MY GOD KEEP EM COMING BAYY BEE
I like it a lot :)
Strip Mine Masterclass
I lost at LSV's Vince McMahon meme impression
most quotable is superbad or step brothers

Sounds like LSV just watched some Mulan :D
This is the greediest thing I've ever seen, but Strip is my actual fav card so I can't be too mad

Casual 6-1 with random cards
Actually couldn't handle the Mulan.
