At 52 I had 4 blocked arteries, and had to have 4 by passes. My cholesterol was 306. After surgery I was put on 1000mg of simcor. I felt like a zombie. The joint and muscle pain was debilitating along with severe fatigue. I lost all the muscle in my body. My blood pressure went up when I never had problems with it before. My memory got so bad, my son asked why I kept repeating things. I was unable to exercise because of the side effects. The Dr changed me to lipitor 20 mg after my brother in law died. I still felt bad. 2 yrs later another brother in law died. They both had the same problem as me. Heart disease and we were on statins.. A week before his funeral I quit taking statins. It’s been 4 months and I’m feeling a lot better. Soon I should be able to walk for exercise daily. My blood pressure went back to normal and I feel closer to getting my sense of well being back. This is more important to me than living longer.
I will Never take statins again! Everyone ‘s différent but if u feel bad All the time as I did. Get off statins for at least 6 months and see how u feel. It’s worth a try! GOOD LUCK

It's good to read about people who's conditions have improved through quitting these drugs. Your experience is much worse than mine, but like you, my condition has improved through the discontinuation of this drug. It' s been two months now and I felt better almost immediately. I see my primary care doc in another few weeks and he is not going to like what I have done. I hope to be able to keep him because he is a good person with a heart in the right place. But at the end of the day it's my life and I will make the choices with it.

And Yeah So What sugar and carbs are the real killers. Not cholesterol. I was on Crestor for a year, felt much of what you experienced. Removed carbs and sugar. Your body needs cholesterol. Stopped statins 3 years ago.

@ And Yeah So What.......Thank you so much for your commentary. As we all know, people experience the same or different side effects from all medications. I have been taking Crestor for 1 year and I also have to take 2 different high blood pressure medications (i have a thoracic aneurysm and a tear in my aorta). I know the blood pressure medications are causing me side effects however, I have to take them (have been on numerous ones). I am sure the Crestor is adding to my side effect problems. The most frustrating problems are severe swollen lower legs, swollen feet and ankles, excessive tiredness, fatigue, coughing, confusion and memory. I am stopping the Crestor. I need some quality of daily life.

I was prescribed a statin by a consultant, and me and my GP decided I shouldn't start it yet. I was talking to another GP today, and she asked me why I did not take the statin. I told her I had lot 16kg and got my BP under control, and she was underwhelmed, but that is so much more than taking this dubious drug.

C Reinicke; Years ago, I did the Atkins diet, lost weight all right, however, 2 years ago I had a stent implanted in my left coronary artery due to 70% blockage. I'm on statin on and off and notice muscle weakness and brain fog. I no longer eat red meat; switched from butter to coconut oil, and rarely eat cheese (my favorite go to snack). When I do eat cheese, it's low fat mozzarella. Boring! I'm doing my best, going to the gym 5 days a week; 60 minutes of cardio and work out with weights also.

@@zeebee9356 I don't know about Atkins.. I hear it's similiar in some ways to keto.. but why are you staying on statins? Are you not able to wean off of it? From the bit I know.. excersise won't help.. the statin itself is causing muscle aches. If you can't get off statins it seems it's a waste of your time and energy to excersise so much.. take relaxing walks in the sun and enjoy life.. no one lives forever, so find a happy medium.. I understand your afraid because of the buildup in arteries that could kill you.. but it didn't happen overnight.. it was either from years before your atkins diet experiment, or just genetics.. some do everything bad and never get build up.. while others live very healthy lives and get the build up.

I can't wait to swim and be in the sunshine. I'm not stopping my visits to the gym though. Thank you again for your well thought out reply. P.S. I'm a Christian and not afraid to die. I'm 66 and was on Crestor for 6 months - in that time I lost a ton of muscle and lived on Tylenol and Advil for muscle and joint pain. I can remember taking my dog to the dog park I'd take my dog to the park and standing with my eyes closed thinking how good it would feel to just lie down in the snow. I took myself off the statins with my doc's knowledge. I went to a naturopath who recommended berberine, gave me a diet plan and took a blood test for food intolerance. Now that I know what how and what to eat for my body I feel 100% better. There's so much more to consider other than cholesterol levels before putting someone on statins - I read somewhere that physicians are like licensed drug dealers - not far off the mark in some cases.

I started a new lifestyle at age 68y/o and 280lbs about 7 weeks ago, including eating ketovore, eliminating virtually all sugar possible and carbs, intermittent fasting from 6P-12P the next day, 1 mile walk every morning and drinking a ACV blend with lemon and water after my morning cup of black coffee. I stopped my Rosuvastatin about 5 weeks ago and will advise my doctor when I see him later this week. My Glucose has lowered from 112 (in Dec) to 106. My A1c is down to 5.5 from 5.8. My Total Cholesterol was 234 and LDL 167, both HIGHER than my last labs. But, that was expected based on the diet and quitting the statin. But, from what I have learned, I really don't need to worry so much about the choleserol numbers, at least on the surface. My next goal, besides my weight loss goal of 80 pounds (I'm down 22 pounds so far), is to get off of the Atenolol. I seriously don't think I need to be taking it anyway.

I was prescribed Atorvastatin 40 mg/day for elevated cholesterol by my VA Healthcare primary care physician. This diagnosis was the result of a complete blood panel that was done, which showed no other abnormality. After about 6 months another complete blood panel was done which then showed I was in stage 2 renal failure. At about that time I developed problems with urinary function, frequent and odiferous urination that was cloudy. Additionally, I started developing severe cramps in the lower portions of both legs with numbness of my toes at night when I slept and persistent itching of my skin on my back and upper arms. After these problems surfaced I stopped taking the drug, modified my diet(bland with no-salt and low-protein) and started getting regular exercise. As a result, I am feeling better and my leg cramps and toe tingling have subsided but my kidney function has not improved and probably never will. The best that I can hope for, realistically, is that I might have arrested the progress of my kidney disease. Because I disobeyed the instructions of the VA Healthcare, I have essentially burned my bridges with them. I'm probably better off having dissociated myself from those people, as I really never had confidence in their level of medical competence.

Thank you! I'm a heart attack survivor and I was percribed statins immediately after. Almost 2 years of taking statins, I had brain fog, painful muscles and i got so bad that I became bed ridden. I finally stopped the statins, but the leg pain continues to this day (6 months later). I recently had complete bloodwork and the results suggest that i may have lupus. After reseaching lupus, I discovered that there is such a thing as Statin Induced Lupus. We have to run more tests to confirm it, but I can tell you I'm very pissed. Like i needed another disease! 😠
You mentioned vitamin C and I totally agree with that. I've been following Dr. Rath's discovery on how it helps our arteries. He has a very in-depth presentation on youtube. I try and share his discovery with everyone that I think could benefit from it, but it seems to fall on deaf ears.

Everyone, or Every Doctor should read the book, "The Statin Damage Crisis", by Duane Graveline, MD. A NASA doctor who fell very ill from LIPITOR, after just 5 weeks and on only 10mgs.
      >>Statins "inhibit" the enzyme to stop the synthesis of cholesterol... but everything below in this pathway that is so critical for health IS DESTROYED too.
The only thing wrong with LDL is that it can oxidize. Well, What is causing the oxidation? Sugar, Insulin, pollution, stress. We can quell inflammation and oxidation with soo many other natural bioactive compounds. We are Deficient in chemicals.

Good on you for making this video. My mother developed gallbladder stones and a pre cancerous growth in her bile duct. Once I connected the cause and effect I immediately took my mom off the statin drug. Doctors discourage me and in my mind I was telling them to go f themselves. I wanted to make them take the drug. I ask them if they would give it to there mothers and got no answer. I also detoxified my moms liver / kidneys and supplemented with Ubiquinal ( CoQ10), Vitamin D, Digestive Enzymes, EFA oil, R-Lipoic Acid, ate a lot of asparagus and six months later she is on her way to a healthier life. Lets pray that the growth doesn't turn into cancer. In conclusion Statin drugs are useless and do so much harm to the body that it's ludicrous that doctors prescribe it and people eat them everyday without knowing what they are taking. I used to be a mathematician, and I still have lots of interest in the concepts of math. I didn't think the explanation in this video was clear at all. But speaking as a person very dedicated to careful precise logic, I have to dig into these issues more, much more. The conclusions most people will draw from this video might well have a lot of validity, but for myself, I have to dig more carefully into them.
But thanks a whole lot to the presenter in teh video. It shows me what concepts I must nail down more carefully in order to better evaluate these things.
By the way, about a year ago, I got so fed up and depressed with certain medical things, that I drew huge charts of huge number of my blood measures (taken every 6 months, over about 2 years), and I spent a huge amount of time analyzing all kinds of numbers,.
After quite a lot of analysis, - and I mean a lot - I saw that a lot of the important blood test measures moved in the bad direction, though over 2 years they all slowly moved back in the good direction. I eventually traced the bad movements all back to the same point in time. I dug back through my records to that point in time. And it turned out that was when I started taking the statin, a particular statin which was supposed to be safe for me.
After about another 6 months of evaluation, I was taken off the statin. The doc wanted to put me on a real new statin, but I resisted.
The value of the video is that it introduced important issues. And I now know pretty specifically what math I want to to carefully dig into and fully understand.
I think the vast number of people, even professionals, don't carefully know the math and logic issues fully.
Thanks Hinish, for a great video. (Not so sure about the hearts floating by).

Statins and fibrins, I read the label, it said can weaken muscles. In high school Dr in training class or health ed. a test answer was ...the heart is a muscle. So now you'r suppose to take a drug to weaken the heart so you dont have a heart attack. I told the Dr. that I read the label, I aint that stupid, I need help so I will find something better. The Dr said we'll just see how you do. I was like, sure sounds like fun, like... going on crack and never went back. Thats what the best health insurance got me. I Went on enzymes with lipase and dandelion, B-1 and choline from the wellness and fitness store up the street. Besides all that, the pharmacy wouldnt take the expired prescribed pills (that i never took) for proper disposal and the pharmacist actually told me to take them to the hazard waste site !!! Tells you a lot right there....

I read a couple of weeks ago that chemo doesn't kill the core of a cancer cell. That was a cancer specialist he said it was making the drug companies billions, and that there would never be a cure because it makes them so much. The only way they would give you a cure is when a new disease comes along which is going to make them rich. Its just greed.

Also statins kill your body’s CoQ10. Powerful anti-oxidant.

    • @davidswarner7902
      @davidswarner7902 5 лет назад +1

CoQ-10 is also used by the body to aid in cellular metabolism. That's all cells. But the biggest user of CoQ-10 are muscle cells. W/O CoQ-10 your muscles have reduced strength. Lowering cholesterol blocks the ability of cell wall repair. If you damage muscle cell walls, it releases cell content of myoglobin and K+. High concentrations of muscle cell damage can damage kidney function.

Background: I have been on statins for about thirty years. Twenty years ago, I came down with glandular fever, which became ME (chronic fatigue sybdrome) and fibromyalgia. So I have felt like shit for many years. Three years ago, I went off statins as per the directions of the antibiotics I needed to cure long term bronchitis. Because this infection was repeated, I was off statins most of the year. Finally, I went for a walk on a hot day, had a headache, and this turned out to be a mild stroke. I was hospitalized for three days, after which I was much improved. My statin dose was increased fourfold, and I was put on a blood thinner. BTW, I have had diabetes for twelve years. I have had a bit of angina after exercise recently, so I now have a nitrate spray. I have never noticed any reduction in muscle aches or pain while off statins, nor after they were increased. All I know is that I don't want another stroke or a heart attack. I believe I have a net benefit from statins. Life is hard enough already. Any mental issues could well be due to ME.

My spouse was on Atorvastatin - one of the other side effect I found diarrhea. Couple that with a hospital acquired C. Diff infection and we're talking rivers of excrement. And if you do the numbers in percentages it's between 6 tenths of a percent - and 1 and 2% - so statistical noise in essence.
And even the example of 45000/1000000 it's 4% again - if you understand probability as you get to .5 it is more likely, whereas .04 or .05 is essentially noise.
