Your fabrication and metal shaping skills are so impressive. I was in awe of the skills required to make that panel. Great work

Great skills there Steve. This is what ppl pay for, skills learnt over years of experience. I always get through a lot of wood glue whilst undertaking repairs on the car, and thats the difference, Steve uses no wood glue, very impressive.

Very impressive and it also showed how much work is involved in removing the original panel.

Everytime I watch you guys I learn more tricks. I've never seen anyone else use a rubber matt and a flat chisel to form raised beads.

    • @yorkshirecarrestoration

We do have a bead roller but most don’t have one at home so we try and show how it’s done without one :)

So now I'll find a rubber matt and put off buying that bead roller till I have room to use one.

Blimey Charlie! More rusty shenanigans! That bolt-head-soldering-iron (mini inductor) is a bit fancy. Never seen of those used before.

This content is exactly what I was looking for. Currently trying to figure out how to make the passenger side floor section of the boot on a MK2.5 and this has given me the inspiration needed. Love how you did this without a bead roller

What are your thoughts on the under coating in a can. I used it on my car that had been parked in the garage 3 years, before sending it back out on the road. That stuff seemed to make the vehicle rust out way faster than nothing at all.

Wow, that's one rusty car, makes my 1998 Integra Type R look it was a minter pre restoration!! Trying to just cover up the rust with that mess is never a good idea!!!
I've starting using Lanoguard on my cars and it seems to be doing a good job at keeping the rust at bay. Bilt Hamber Dynax S50 is good stuff as is Dynax UB/UC.
