Kate is a British National treasure - she has just announced she has lots of new ideas and is about to go into the studio for the first time in about 14 years - It's incredible to think she only ever did two concert tours in Britain !
.I've run out of superlatives in trying to describe how wonderful Kate Bush is .. Amazing artist, who was able to combine both the avant-garde and traditional aspects of her music into a style and sound that is distinctly hers .. I will never tire of listening to or watching her .. Great reaction Sue and Shannon .. Great to have her back again .. You 2 work well together !
@@playitagainsue Sorry Sue, but YT's been playing tricks with disappearing some of my comments again, so I must have over-compensated .. I've deleted the duplicate now .. Thanks, Wayne😅
@wayne_twentyfive no worries, Wayne! YT messes with me all the time. The other day I was panicking because I couldn't see any of my latest vids. They all had the thumbnails of old videos and I thought I lost a bunch of them but as soon as I hovered over them, they all turned back to the proper vid. This went on for 3 days 😜❤️
Kate Bush certainly is a genius. A singular vision that is unique. There's no one else quite like her. Always enjoyed this song, it's a very powerful anti war message. I'd always presumed the Irish lilt was in some way linked to the Troubles in Northern Ireland.
Always more Kate! ❤ I’m gonna recommend a B side, because it’s what it came to mind. Ran tan waltz there’s a video from the 1979 Christmas special that I love.
@@playitagainsueI’m hoping there are a couple more albums from Kate to keep it going. Can I suggest the album Lexicon of Love by ABC for your listening.
This was one of three singles released from Kate's 3rd studio album, "Never For Ever" (1980), which Kate co-produced. Now, you've already reacted to one of the other singles "Babooshka", The next and last track on the album "Breathing" was the other single that was released, it's another very powerful song, which has become relevant once again, so I definitely recommend that you watch the official music video. The thing that her songs have demonstrated time and time again is that she's an absolutely brilliant storyteller who can use music to stir up an emotional reaction in the lidtener then couple that with her performances in music videos, its a very powerful combination. At the very least, the videos are based on her ideas. In later videos, she's involved in the production, and in some cases, she directs them.
The word genius is thrown around but with Kate Bush it is earned and justified, she pushes boundaries with every project. You should take a look at her latest project for the charity War Child, it’s an animation called “Little Shrew”, the shrew is taken the place of a child in a war zone, she directed and I think made the animation, , wrote the music and her son sings the lyrics. It’s worth a look!❤
She was and is a national treasure very talented, If memory serves her first album "The Kick Onside" was produced released when she was 17 she was brilliant still have my copy. David Gilmore played solo guitar on Wuthering heights, and was co-producer.

Kate Bush said years ago in an interview that she was not interested in politics. But it was when the decisions of politics hits you on an emotional level, she would feel compelled to write a song about it. This sums up Kate to a T for me. She is such a brilliant, creative, visual and emotionally based artist. Not just in what she delivers in her song writing or video, but the emotion you feel in her voice. Such a genius, so unique in her take on a subject. Love her to the moon and back 💕

She was truly unique.
