I got to use the speed my varsity years back when they started coming out. It’s still a solid helmet. Way better than the Revolutions I thought were good. They still used the Airs though on JV, luckily I avoided them

We have three types of helmets at pur school speeds for 7th grade speedflexes for 8th and one more for high school and we’re from TX

My highschool coaches just grab helmets, put it on your head say “yeah that fits,” buckle your chinstrap, adjust your chinstrap, slap the top of your head and say “you’re good to go.” The do the same thing with shoulder pads, that’s how I, a lineman, got a battle backplate
That’s how me, a receiver got a Riddell speed and lineman pads

We were recently at a high school football game where a talented young man passed out and later passed away from a head injury. It’s great to see a coach take head injuries seriously.

When I was a senior in '03 season, our team only had 2 of the Revolution helmets and they were given to anyone who had previously had a concussion the previous season. 😂
Bro, that Revolution helmet was the one I wore throughout high school as a backup guard in the "wing-t" type of offense. We finally got the Xenith and Revo Speed helmets my senior year (class of '16) but since all the Speeds got taken (obviously) and apparently the Xenith didn't "fit my head correctly", I had to stick with the Revolution.😂 Then I found out the Revolution was on the end, where those helmets were close to the NFL banning it for poor performance against head injuries.😂 Classic.😂
That's honestly borderline criminal. Think about it. The absolute BS equipment us 2008ish and older players had to play with was so fcked up. We literally wore like solid rubber inside a hard plastic shell and called it a helmet and went and slammed heads with players wearing the same shit. I dreaded every second wearing my fckin helmet cause it hurt so bad just wearing it. So fcked up looking back on it

this is an excellent coach. i will say that i have coached and my dad is a coach and has been since the 90s, he's now a head coach at a high school that isn't well-funded, and he has to fundraise himself. i wish all schools had this opportunity but unfortunately, it will never happen.

That’s wild and I’m jealous. when I played in 2010 I had a hammy down helmet from the 80s that barely fit and the pads inside the helmet were hard as a rock. It used to hurt soo bad when colliding helmets.

I went to this school it’s wilsonville high and I can confirm that they got a lot of money for the football team cause they love their football and they will give you the best gear. Shout out to coach Guenther for treating us boys right. Also shoutout to coach Steele and Walls the best linemen coaches in the northwest.

this is the difference between a school that is funded and has no issues raising money and is probably in a richer area compared to my school where you had to pay to play for the team and then if you didn’t buy your own gear you were playing with pads from the early 90s… that was 16’ when i was a freshman in highschool smh you can have the entire world at your fingertips if you born into it sheesh what i wouldn’t do for a school like this when i was coming up 🤦♂️
