[Matsumoto/Asama Onsen] Abandoned ruined inns and ruined hotels... now in a deserted hot spring town

I walked around Asama Onsen in Nagano and Matsumoto.
In the Edo period, the lord used to go there as a “Matsumoto inner parlor”
Although the hot spring has a long history, the number of tourists has decreased in recent years.
Long-established inns and bubble-era hotels are abandoned in ruins.
However, in order to regain the former vibrancy, Matsumoto Jujo and others
New initiatives by hotels have also begun.

先日、浅間温泉に撮影に訪れました
いくつかの廃旅館が、お年寄りのための施設として活用されていました
ウエストンホテルのような廃墟も魅力的ですが
再利用されて残されるのも素敵ですね

浅間温泉は昔は宿泊客が浴衣に下駄で街をたくさん歩いていたり、芸妓さんもたくさんいました。
バブル遺産というより衰退したのは修学旅行が駅前の安いビジネスホテルを利用し始めたのが大きな原因だと思います。
