Just put a brand new IMA battery in my 2005 CVT with about 164k on it. Fixing up various other things but it drives at interstate speed and doesn't blow up. Transmission shifts kinda hard, gotta see what that's about. Bought this new in 2005 and had sold it to my aunt and stepdad for a few years, but nice to have it back. It's a purdy little car.
You might want to change the transmission fluid, using only Honda fluid, every 30k miles. Helps it last longer.
@@keithc8108 Good to know, thanks! EGR system clean out helped a ton, and I also found the shifter control cable hopelessly rusted. Took some PB blaster to it and it made a world of difference, but I need to do a permanent fix before it snaps. Had a bad fuel leak after the line rusted where it goes through its mount on the firewall. Sectioned and rerouted it, so far so good. Wouldn’t be a 20-year-old car without some drama!

Maybe be interested in buying one again. I had a brand new 2005 insight and got 215,000 miles on it when i sold it 9 years later. The IMA battery went out exactly at 150,000 miles so thats pretty good seeing as the warranty was for 80,000. Did you say you did replace the IMA battery and all the other issues on this car?
