The Honda Insight is really simple to run and fix, It's a simple 3-cylinder that just has an electric motor sandwiched in it. It can be run as a simple gas 50 hp car if you disconnect the IMA battery
That is one of the coolest things about them! I’m hoping to be able to afford one in the next year or two - it sucks that I couldn’t save this one. I’ll probably have to buy one with the IMA disconnected, at least to start.
I have had my Insight in the UK for 6 years and I love it. It is my daily driver and save me around £400 a month in fuel. Is very easy to fix because most of the parts are generic Honda stock parts. I have even taken apart fixed, replaced cells and reconditioned the hybrid battery myself with minimal tools.
Also as it's only two seats I can refuse a request for a lift "Sorry only enough seats for me and my chihuahua!!"
Just bought a cr-z, which in my opinion is the successor to the insight. Could be worth a look if you're after another quirky Honda!
Oh for sure! Those are really neat as well. Another very unique automobile by Honda. Hopefully a little further in the future I’ll be able to get one!

I was considering looking for a Insight or a CR-Z recently because of rising gas prices.
They’re out there! Usually you can find a good one with working hybrid system for $4-5000. There is a RUclips channel called gray25xt that has a lot of good videos about them. Best of luck!
I had an insight that barely started. It turned out to be the fuelpump needing replacing. The hoses in the fuel pump had eroded away so it couldn't suck up gas properly
great car. Honestly if Honda wanted another home run they'd re-release the insight with similar specs. they'll never do it. You also can't find these in the used market. People don't seem to be selling them!
Where is it now? I was hoping to but it but can settle for some needed parts if it is not too far.
