    You go to so much trouble to make sure we can see 👁️ 🙈👁️everything you're doing.
    You really care about the turntables you're servicing and the videos you're creating, making sure that your viewers have a pleasant & informative experience.
    Not sure how to tell you this but I think you're probably a bit of a perfectionist.😲
    Love watching your videos. 💯✅
    Looking 👀 forward ⏩ to the next.👍
    Love those big old beastly pioneer turntables too 🥰

    Like that turntable! I wish I had an automatic or semi automatic again! They are nice cause you don't have to worry about the needle sitting in the lead-out groove!

    Good job, broseph. Do you do an hourly or all in cost? I also appreciate the fact that you still have a landline. I haven't had a landline for 20 years. I have been using neutrol 401B for the past 2 years with great success. Deoxit prices have come down locally as it is collecting dust on the shelves after the hype has died down. It would be cooler if you used your phone.

      Most of the time, I do an all-in cost. My "landline" is actually a voip service - Fongo - $4.95/month. Love Nutrol - cheap and does everything D5 does.

    I just moved mine to a new walnut veneer plinth. A bigger project than I expected but it's done and working. I did discover a weak point and was hoping for a comment about what I found. If the tone arm i locked down when the start button is pressed, the mechanism gets stuck such that it won't move anymore. I have to take the bottom off and move the mechanism by hand to get it to reset. Is this normal?

    I have this same turntable, do you know if the arm is supposed to lift up after the record is done and auto return kicks in?

    Great video I just picked one of these up what spray did you use ? The transcription say “neutral” but I can’t find any spray call that?

    I have the same table with the same issues. I replaced the foam as instructed but it still won't return all the way. What would be the next step?

    Can you please explain how you adjusted the motor board variable speed resistors…we could not see?

    • @TurntableGuy
      @TurntableGuy  Год назад +2

      Set the top pitch controls to roughly the center point, then adjust the 33 & 45 trim pots on the motor board until the speed is stable via the onboard strobe light. The service manual is available for download at vinylengine.com

      Thanks. This video is so helpful. Unfortunately vinylengine is no longer accepting new members. But this video got a PL-510S I bought up and running and stable speed.

    My turntable does not lift the cue arm up very high, it barely clears the edge of the album. I am worried about the stylus bumping the edge of the record and damaging the needle. Is there a way of getting the lifting mechanism to go higher? Maybe it's low on fluid, or maybe the mechanism is dirty/not smooth? Thanks, good video, and I've never seen anyone point out the foam piece that needs to be replaced before, so kudos to you!

    • @TurntableGuy
      @TurntableGuy  11 месяцев назад

      There is usually a very small screw on the side of the arm lifter that can adjust the height.

  • @DannyHaj

    Question, when you lift the platter, I see three empty screw holes. I have the same record player and mine is also missing these three screws. Is it just supposed to be like that?

    • @opticalinch
      @opticalinch 7 месяцев назад

      I just bought a used pl-530 and when I removed the platter those three screws where in there with a not saying do not fail to remove. I believe they are shipping screws and when removed the springs come into play.

      Currently in the midst of a restoration myself and I believe he is turning the motor adjustment screws on the board. Download the PL-530 service manual and under Chapter 11 for adjustments, it describes the process of adjusting it

    You do not ever ever balance, your tonearm with the dam platter moving round, if by any shit chance to tonearm lowers and the needle hits the platter you will damage. It probably even rip the diamond stylish clean of the Housing of anybody that’s going to comment and say yeah, but the diamond styluses harder than the rubber I dare you go try it with your expensive needle see if you’re there. There is no need for the platter to be spinning. Even no need for the record that even to be plugged in to balance the tonearm

      That is a noob only problem. When you do it daily, it's not a big deal. It's just a stylus and not a baby.

    • @Rob1972Gem
      @Rob1972Gem Год назад

      @@Poppinwheeeeellllllieeeeez maybe but if you’re gonna do an instructional type video do it in a way which makes common sense it’s fair enough if you’ve only got low-cost stylus on the tonearm But you certainly would not ever want to do it this way with a high value stylus just not worth the risk and there’s no need for the record deck to be turned on and spinning to balance tonearm
