Picking up the littered soda cans on the streets in large quantities and then chucking them all away one by one is surprisingly very oddly satisfying. XD

Yes the music sound awesome in this game. This is the first full soundtrack made by Satoshi Igarashi. He work on somes songs in Bayonetta 2 and the DLC of Xenoblade 2.

I fell in love with this game the moment it was revealed back in February! Daemon Ex Machina took me the demo before i wanted it too.

Was on the fence till I saw some reviews. Was hoping it wasn’t just a button masher and now I know the gameplay is a lot deeper thanks Nintendo Life. You just sold another copy for Nintendo.

@@ChaosDragons211 Platinum games are known for their blasts of nonstop fun. Depending on the writers, that's what really impacts whether or not you'll enjoy the story, though, I think they're all fun regardless.
This game from what I hear, is about 20 hours, and a lot more on the story side. The combat is still being praised, though it definitely looks like it's trying to tell a good story as well. If you like anime in general, or specifically ghost in the shell or Psycho pass, you'll probably really enjoy this.
I don't really have to say much about FE, it's a strategy game with an anime story. Still great. Depends on what you want to play.

I've played about 10 hours of the game already and it's probably the best fighting game I've played on switch. The combat mechanics are complex and varied but amazingly simple at the same time. And flashy to boot. When you think the combat wont get any better, it does.

I confirm this game is amazing. It's like Bayonetta meets Zelda meets Metroid. The combat has a learning curve, though it all clicks and it's pretty damn great!
I knew I couldn't be the only one getting Metroid vibes from this game!
I'm so excited to hear the music and experience all the tiny details in this game. Platinum is one of the best devs in the world

I know I'm late, but I just got this game and am loving. But I gotta know, how is daemon × machina? Before I got Astral Chain I was playing a game called Gundam Breaker 3 break edition, which is a mech and must play ps4 game itself, now I want another mech game to play on the go. I'm hoping daemon x machina is worth a buy

I liked Star Fox Zero though I do wish that aiming with the Game Pad was optional. But it was a blast playing it with two players. Then, it becomes "Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron."

@@DaFunk14 After playing Star Fox 2 on my Super NES Classic I would love a follow up to THAT game. It was a simple idea that provided a challenge and things didn't always play out the same so you could do multiple playthroughs. They could expand on the idea, maybe do more with it with improved controls. On top of that I enjoyed the two new members of Star Fox.

This game was incredible! Really hope you bought it. My only complaint was the platforming, I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I almost died from falling off the stupid platforms lol

I've wanted it for years now but have wanted a good sale. They're finally gonna have a decent black Friday sale on it and I am sooooooo getting this bad ass game!
Thank you for actually taking the time to talk about all the mechanics in the game, instead of either just the highlighted or disliked ones. Every review I've seen is too short, and most of them skip talking over certain major elements in favor of focusing on that little bit of negativity they can squeeze out despite actually liking the game because of views. You didn't do that, and I appreciate that.
I'm probably one of the few to notice it, but this seems like a sci-fi Chaos Legion & that's a good thing.

yeah if you enjoy this make sure you definitely go pick up Bayo1-2 and Nier: Automata they are fantastic games as well.

I mean, announcement Date has nothing to do with development time =b Nintendo and their partners have started trying to avoid announcing a game and then it being the same major reveal at 4 E3s in a row. They only announce games early now if it's to basically shut up fans who are going everywhere saying Nintendo isn't working on the series, when they are in the background o3o

@@nocfox3050 yah, mainly metroid and pokemon s/s. but as stated, those where only announced so they can get people off of twitter posting "why aren't you making a pokemon game for switch", "where's metroid prime 4, you guys clearly don't care about the series anymore". If it wasn't for those comments Nintendo would have never announced them. Even Luigi Mansion 3 i fill like they announced earlier then they wanted because of the people complaining E3 2018 didn't show any 2019 games.

Help please, I don't know if I buy Astral Chain or God eater 3. Astral chain looks pretty good but it's also small, God eater is bigger and looks more interesting but people don't like it much

I don't think this game will get overshadowed. There is a LOT of anticipation for Astral Chain. Sure, Link's Awakening will be big, but it's also a very different game. They appeal to different audiences and in cases where people are interested in both, if they can afford it, they will buy both. I think it's Daemon X Machina, releasing two weeks after Astral Chain, that runs the risk of being over shadowed because it's also a flashy, anime styled action game, but getting less hype. I really thing Nintendo should have tried to space these games further apart.
I'm 30 hours into it and just started on File 08 out of 11. I love the complexity and the advanced mechanics and everything! I've just been craving an advanced RPG since Xenoblade 2 and Warframe came out! No more simple or basic gameplay for simpletons and filthy casuals.
I swear.. Of this game doesn't get GOTY, I'm gonna commit Russian hacking election for Game Awards
The chain reminds me a little of the chain Pandoras Tower a heavierly underrated game!

yeah I wasn't sure about getting this game since I have never played anything similar to its play style. I saw the game on spring sale for 30% and since I've seen a couple of cool shots from it I wondered whether or not I should give it a try. This review helped me make a conclusion. I might become 40 dollars more poor, but I just feel like this is a game that I can't miss

The only reason I'm trying to get "perfection" (S+) is for the costumes. I love the combat in this game it easy but has a high skill cap. Micro managing the legion. I wish I had someone to play with so they can take over the legion see how fun it would be.

Solid Sam this may be in part because I’m playing through Spider-Man now as well but I feel it’s similar how groups of enemies come at you at a time, dodging is like a karate character where you do really cool flips before hitting the next character, the chain kind of acts like a web string where you can use it for many different things, Running around in the city gives me that nyc vibe same with npc’s, a lot of upgrades upgrade your “body suit”. I know a lot of other games have upgrades but this feel closer to some the Spider-Man. You may have beat it. I’m about 4 hours in. So I may steer away from that.
Nintendo is killing it! Hopefully DxM would add gyro. Didn't enjoy the demo too much.

Bit of an odd question, but I recently got my grubby hands on a Switch (late, I know) and I'm trying to decide on which games to get first after Breath of the Wild and Bayonetta 2. I am torn between Astral Chain, Monster Hunter Generations: Ultimate and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Any opinions/recommendations?

Yeah I'm kinda eh about buying this game cause of how long it is, I didn't have a problem buying Fire Emblem Three Houses cause I've put in 50+ hours for it and payed $50 for it. But I really like the look of this game but I could always buy it later on, I'm on the edge I'm not sure if I want it or not. The reviews are really good though.
I'm only around 6 or 7 hours in, i dont regret a single penny tbh

I know this isn’t an open world rpg but has it got a little more to it then just going out and killing things then returning to the hub? I just finished up with monster hunter stories 2 and found the gameplay of that to be so repetitive as in you speak to someone in town, go kill a monster then rinse repeat.

Great review! How’s the endgame like? Do you get to unlock different skins for your characters that change how they play? Different modes? Side quests worth actually caring about. I just feel like this game is going to be like DMC5 once I beat the story I play with the weapons and abilities I haven’t used then I’m done. The combat looks fantastic though!

I still replay dmc5 and 4 and 3 despite beating them. The combat is really good and I like seeing how I can improve.
If you like the music here, you need to try METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE, another game made by Platinum Games . It has great music as well, I'd say music there is better by a bit. I love every game made by Platinum.

Thats the problem with 10 point rating scale: we heard ONLY POSITIVES and zero negatives in this review, so then it should be a 10/10 but hey no, safer to just put it a 9 score without a reason.... If its a 9, then at least note one or two negatives, so the listener can understand the score.
Seeing that Leigon doing an ORAORAORAORA is all I needed to see for it to be an instant buy. Also riding on dog makes it 10/10
Later interviews said how this was in development even before Nier Automata, that's like 5 years!

You're on to something really clever when you mentioned about an open world maybe for the sequel.
Man the fact that the playthrough is only 20hrs long is a turn off for me, I cant buy games that regularly and for a game that lasts 20hrs (coming from mario odyssey, hollow knight and botw all of which took more than 40hrs to complete) and its "replayability" is to just literally play it again idk might just save my money and wait to see what the september direct might bring. However I dont doubt the game is awesome and I do want to play it, but I guess it can wait.
Same. For an Engineer from a 3rd world spending 25% of a month's salary on a 60$ game, I'd like to enjoy a game for atleast 60-70 hrs.

Dude faced paced hack and Slash games don't have a long story but are a blast to play. Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, God of War etc have a short story but the replayability is great well except for the new God of War.
Maybe a december sale is the thing? Especially if nintendo have first party lineups on the nominations in the game of the year.. Nintendo really likes to put 33% off with their first party titles recently..

I played Bayonetta 1 & 2 and thought it was just okay. I really like jrpgs and action rpgs, I'm really excited, but if I'm just playing Bayonetta again, I'll play Bayonetta again. Is this game gonna be more suited to my taste?
A weird thing I've seen Nintendo-focused RUclips channels completely miss more than I imagined I would is that Astral Chain is more like NieR: Automata than either Bayonetta game. It even has the same director that was the lead designer on NieR: Automata (Takahisa Taura) with clear inspirations from previously working on it, too.
I understand that NieR: Automata isn't on Switch, but like...it's right there. It exists. It sold the best of all the games made by PlatinumGames.
PlatinumGames isn't the same kind of "good games no one really buys" company anymore since NieR: Automata saved their studio and has sold over 4 million copies so far because it's been a total evergreen game for them and Square Enix. More people's eyes are opened to their quality now thanks to that game.
If NieR: Automata winds up on Switch later, which both Platinum and Square Enix are interested in doing, that feels like it's another guaranteed half a million copies.
Maybe more due to how some Nintendo diehards are with refusing to play it on anything else, oddly enough. Even if they have a PS4, Xbone, or PC I've noticed. It's just kinda weird. But I suppose that works to a potential port's advantage to be sold to that specific audience who live by wanting all the things on their Switch.
