Gentlemen, I could not wipe the smile off of my face. WoW!! To see a few boys from the lil old Maritimes do as well as you do, gives me such an unbelievable sense of pride! You have worked so hard and deserve every inch of success. I have followed your career, and have praised you from the west coast and back again. Glad to see Mr. Letterman has become a fan, he seemed quite smitten;)
Nice, Dave got up for the proper shake good bye. These guys rock, saw them years ago in Antigonish for New Years, suffice to say the vibe is still very much in place. All the best boys...
@bookemsgirl The Nova Scotia comment was a reference to a recurring joke in this particular episode in which they were discussing wether or not Denmark was part of Scandinavia.
Yeah Wintersleep! Hometown pride representing Haliwood!! Even though I hate letterman, it's good publicity for the boys. :) Saw these guys live on 2 occasions, once on Citadel Hill for Alexander Keith's birthday (the best IPA beer in CANADA!!), and once at the old Marquee club. How I miss those days. They are amazing in concert!! @hungrytacoboy: Weighty Ghost is there most popular (catchy/upbeat) song that most people recognize. Most of the rest of their songs have little lyrics with all inst
Dude... If you had ever seen Wintersleep live before this RUclips video, you would know that they ALWAYS brought a unique sound to every single show they have every played.
Agreed. And as an avid concert goer I love seeing my favorite musicians/bands create in real time & improvise rather than just roll out as a cover band of their studio recordings.
@CLANGxx and Reddog794 (first off, love when it posts before its supposed to). Anyway, the bit about if Nova Scotia was part of the Maritimes was a continuation of a joke that was running the whole episode. There was a Danish guy in the audience so they kept referencing him and debating which countries were part of Scandinavia. It wasn't a slight against Nova Scotia or a history lesson. And for everyone who is complaining about the song choice, well, it wasn't their pick. The booker for the s
I wish they would have played a different song, one other than Weighty Ghost. Why not something from the new album? I would have loved to hear Baltic. Also, every RUclips "suggestion" is another Weight Ghost video. What about their other songs?! Aha. I'm very glad they got onto Letterman though!
I agree with previous comments- weighty ghost was kind of a disappointment as far as song choice goes. Wintersleep has lots of great new songs and this isn't even off there new album! Nor does it really sound like the their other material. Regardless, this is awesome and I'm really proud of the band for making it on here- Loel was pretty funny at the end as well!
PS re: the drums... I seriously hope you didn't have an instrument issue (i.e. lost in transit or something), this time around. You're ungodly luck in that department out stands me!
what happened to his fucking voice? it used to be so low and moving (example: caliber, insomnia)...it started to change, but was great for "welcome to the night sky", probably their best album....but now, it's mouse-y and passionless. meh. new inheritors was a big let down but they've got what it takes to turn things around.
you wish. these things are very useful and they seem to agree with the growing population that his voice is awful and uncomfortable - hence why their footprint on the music scene in canada is continually getting smaller. i thought they were destined for greatness but now they're lucky to sell out the horseshoe in toronto...
Can’t understand for the life of me why Wintersleep does not get more attention. Brilliant band.
Very underrated band from my birthplace of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada.
Seen them 2 times live. Great band with one of the worlds best drummer!!!
Amazing drummer!!!!!!
Excellent, I love this song, congrats on the Letterman appearance!

A great band.

These guys are from my city and I love 'em!

Wintersleep - Breath Normal Nerves Normal live = awesome drumming!
Wonderful to see and a great tune as well. :)
Very nicely done.
Awesome! Well done fellas!
lead singer = my cousin :) ty aunt for sharing this link
I met Dave last year and when I told him I was from PEI, he said 'Oh, The Maritime Provinces!' It's pretty funny to hear him say it again.
i got outta bed today, stairin' at a goose
Love this band. Hopefully they can have some success in the U.S. like Mumford & Sons.
Great song!! Right on Yarmouth and Halifax!
Yay! Loved it! Thought it was great that Letterman and Schaffer were concerned about Loel's drums. Are they rentals?

way to go boys, fuckin' A.!!!
I didn't realize this was them. I'd heard it but thought it was Sam Roberts. Good tune anyway. I'll have to watch for them on tour.

Technically, they're from Yarmiwood, not Haliwood.
cape breton!!
What is this Yarmouth Nova Scotia place that David Letterman speaks of? Is it a part of the planet Earth?
Woo hoo!
AWESOME !!!... where in the hell is the "EPIC" button .... keep it up boys... put Nova Scotia right up there !!!
nova scotia bands ffor the win!!!!!! fuck yes to NS
@NWASilentdeath thats just the way his voice is
my cousin is lead singer sweet!!!
sound?
@gongargongar listen to theyr other stuff,, you'l find its more complex, and deep
I love this song, but I hate how bands and singers change the tune or whatever when they perform live. MERRRERERE!
exactly right.. It's so much better the original way. I don't know why they would change it on a show where they get lots of exposure.

In truth I enjoyed Daves tongue in cheek joke about NS. If you know your history, we were the first to try to secede.
''Are those rents?''..... Best reply ''Lenos?''
His voice isn't nearly as bad as most of you say it is :p Still better than Bob Dylan ever was lol and look at how popular he is..
smoking weed helps you understand this song

@CLANGxx & Reddog794
the tragic story of a man who lost his goose.
"oh, have you seen my goose? seen my goose? seen my goose?"
lol Just as good as Lordes "And we'll never be rhiiiinos"! :D
I thought it was about a goat.
ADTR on Jimmy kimmel live FTW
I love this song! but I HATE censorship! I'm "sick of those GODDAMN clouds".
Censorship is for &%#@!
well, we can't offend the christians or warp fragel young minds, lololol
hats off boys....good things do come from nova scotia....just not the mooseheads
Talk about singing through your nose...
Weezer of Halifax.
This song seems like it would be really boring to perform all of the time. There's only so much one can play an A chord.
