Give me it I have burned the motor out on 2 of the impacts 36v they caught on fire from doing light construction work daily. I was driving a 3" deck screw when it caught on fire
Drop "tests" are MEANINGLESS, because every drop makes the tool land at a different angle, and thus, every fall causes a different stress level and different kind of possible damage. Until drop tests are fully standarized and carefully specified, they are USELESS.
Compare the dv18dbfl2 and the dv36da? I want to buy a hammer drill to go with my metabo hpt wh36 impact driver and will be using this at home for framing a basement and some wood working.
Good video. I’ve wondered more than once when it almost happened what would happen if I dropped a tool from a high ledge. For a tool torture test, I’d like to see a drop test. Thanks!
WorkshopAddict mine doesn’t have a button with a battery symbol on it. It says pull trigger to activate but that doesn’t work either. Ended up returning and buying a Milwaukee, but the battery rattles on the tool, ugh can't have anything
Therealphantomzero soft woods you can go faster and harder woods you should slow down. Make sure to allow the dust to clear by removing the hole saw slightly while in use.
apersig had my hitachi kit, not brushless for 7 years still goes no problem with battery’s either heavy use over the years left in rain fell off roofs unbelievably long lasting durable tool
Do a drop test. Like off a ladder, down a flight of stairs(metal, concrete, wood), drop it from like 40-50 in the air. But dropping it from 50 feet, the battery will probably get damage.
Great test guys! I once torture tested a Makita drill by drilling two holes in 3/8 metal plate. Smoked two of them (with a fully charged battery) drill bits were still good. :)
It's not only about performance. You spend hundreds, contractors drop them and put lots of wear and tear on them. You want tools that can last years and years. You don't want to just drop it one time from 5 feet of the ground, and then it doesn't work anymore.
It this some messed up tool porn? Hold it under-water? Rub it in dirt, then run it hard then run it over with a truck. Should I be hot and bothered? I bought the 36 volt version. Guess what I am doing tonight?
Could you guys please stress test the WH18DC?
Lowes has the triple hammer 18v and the hammer drill for 130$ with two 3amp batteries and the hard case. Im very happy with the purchase
I just purchased this kit because it is being clearanced out by Lowe's. They are impressive still.
You guys definitely have me looking at the Hitachi line a little differently than I did a few months ago... nice work
Craig Cundiff They are changing the line for the better.
WorkshopAddict I like to hear a little bit of history on Metabo and Itachi going one company
Hitachi products have come a long way.. nice review guys...👍👍👍
R Miller Thank you!

Awesome testing Gents. A drop test might also confirm how tough is this set. Your Channel and reviews just keeps getting better, thanks again.
Sam K Thanks Sam.

Awesome videos! Glad to see my brand doing so well!
One heck of a test... the marketing guys at Hitachi must be smiling from ear to ear after watching something they never would have done publicly!!
Bob Lewen Don't know if they watch our channel?!?
great vid keep up the great content
Y’all are brutal! I love it lol.
Having fun and showing durability.
First! Nice work guys!
Bit Cloud Thanks Bud.
Nice.. good video fellas
FarmFreak Thanks bud.

For the hitachi , I got 220v wall-socket at home, can I recharge its battery without burning up the battery?
I need to impact drive under six inches of water - would be great if you tested that so I don't have to! thanks

Greg Davis We will gladly do that!

Nice to see Hitachi back in the running and others building drills that can stand up to real life abuse !
How do you make the battery indicator light up?
Push the button next to it with the battery symbol on it.

The battery indicator sucked with only 2 bars anyway.
Can you do this same test with Milwaukee fuel gen 3 combo kit
we can try. We will have to find some sand that is not frozen.
Completely understand. Maybe this spring or so.
@@dylanconn5715 We have some dry sand, rock and salt. When it is not 40 below, we will do this.
Subscribed with bell notifications on. Can’t wait.
@@dylanconn5715 we are getting 12" of snow tomorrow so give me some time. :)
Nice video guys. I like these torture test videos. #WORKSHOPADDICT
Question when using a hole saw should you use it on the fastest speed or high torque slower speed
Therealphantomzero All depends on the saw and the material you are cutting.
WorkshopAddict so just wood and a general purpose bi metal hole saw
Therealphantomzero soft woods you can go faster and harder woods you should slow down. Make sure to allow the dust to clear by removing the hole saw slightly while in use.
I would love to get my hands on some Hitachi tools and use them on the job site.

Lord baal Will do!
impressive!!
Everything you did to that kit has been done to me emotionally lately.
Jeremy Neill Oh man, sorry bud.

gimmick!! performance should matter.
Um, Performance does matter, Hence why we kept doing the same things over and over after the tool was abused to see if it slowed.

WOW! You should call this the vindictive employee test vide. :)
J Parra That is where a lot of the ideas come from! Good name!
Now that you’ve got that used and abused patina on them, go sell the kit on craigslist for twice retail 😂 (that’s what folks do you know this)
Another great review. It's nice to see Hitachi producing good tools again.
John Salazar Metabo HPT man!
