Mambo was a double edged sword. On one hand yeah Malenia healed off him and ruined dozens of runs, but on the other there were a couple where Mambo's fire attacks would remove the frostbite effect and allow Jerma to reapply it. You can see it when he does thousands of damage in just a few seconds over and over. It was definitely possible to win with Mambo, Jerma would have just needed to use the fullmoon spell more effectively since that and moonblade were his best damage dealing attacks by far. Malenia is weak to frostbite, fire, and bleed, which is why most of the "solo her" players run a bleed + frost build with the bleed weapon often being rivers of blood, which does fire and physical damage. She's basically designed to be a boss where you deal huge chunks of damage all at once with freeze and bleed, rather than one that you slowly chip away at with normal weapons. She's also easy to stagger with heavier weapons, which is why the blasphemous blade from Rykard is also very good against her.

Its amazing to me watching a man who put so much into int that he can do rannis dark moon, and yet he doesn't think to capitalize the points in her boss fight where she stands still stationary for like 20 seconds. He could totally spam the moon while she's down in that second phase

Like that big lizard thing in the rot lake, which I killed by just taunting it from on top of the cliff until it swung its head close enough to hit. Depends on the build tbh. He seems to enjoy using skills/weapon arts and there's some melee weapon arts that can REALLY fuck with Malenia. One that comes to mind is the Blasphemous Blade which has a really good amount of poise damage and Malenia can be staggered quite easily with it. It's probably even better at it now since the poise damage buff on greatswords lmao
