Kind of an inaccurate one, though. Given the Soviets were working with the Nazis, such as the tag-team invasion of Poland, until mid '41, the Poles were the first antifa.

Allegedly Stalin was told a prophecy by some brave soul (who dared to come to Stalin with such thing), that when he would stops persecuting Christians, the Soviet union will be saved. He also ought to bring an icon of Saint Mary of Kazan to Leningrad, which he did send there. There is something religious about, how foreign invasion to Russia is accompanied with terrible weather. I heard few times contemporary witnesses in documentaries about WW2, that winter 41/42 was the coldest winter os the century. It began very early and frost were unusually strong. so who shot Kennedy? ..because it seems convincing enough to me that Oswald, who'd lived in Minsk for 3 years and become a soviet supporter and returned to the US with beef against the US government had every reason to do it. And placing him in the book repository was circumstantial enough to cement the claim. Was he innocent?

Fun story, we don't have KFC in my country (Belgium) The firs ttime I saw a KFC, was in eastern Europe. I passed the building, the logo with all the red and the old man, the KFC letters. my first thought was: this must be the building of the communist party, that old guy featured on the flag must be some important communist leader.
@@BamBamGT1 cool story :-D When I was in Poland I was schocked from that number of KFCs, they have them on every corner like pubs. Here in Czech Republic we have them too, but maybe something like 100 KFC for whole country and many of them are on highways so you can't see them in city, it's not on every corner like in Poland. Maybe number of them per milion of people is similar, but in Poland it's concentrated on few places.
If im not mistaken, the "original antifa" was a group in Germany, actually, while the Nazis were trying to gain power. But I guess in another sense, the soviet soldiers were in a way, like the modern antifa in the USA. They are both communists, both pawns, and both discarded when they no longer have a use. Though the soviets fought actual nazis, and antifa just threw bricks and glass bottles and bike locks at people's heads for not being upset at the things they were upset about.

I only discovered your channel a few weeks ago and have been hooked! Was just watching the last video, wondering what I'm going to do now, when this came out! Hope you'll be visiting Kolya soon!
Another Mr. Bald junky. Welcome to the club, Clare.
When you get a history leasson but dont even realise it
Kind of an inaccurate one, though. Given the Soviets were working with the Nazis, such as the tag-team invasion of Poland, until mid '41, the Poles were the first antifa.
@@gagamba9198 LOL...the Poles being obviously anti-communist, how were they antifa? Antifa are far-left trash, who want to implement the very system of government control they constantly complain about!
All antifa does is complain about how bad the government is, and demand as a solution more government!
_the Poles being obviously anti-communist, how were they antifa_
They fought _both_ the Nazis, who were indeed fascists, and Soviets in '39.
_Antifa are far-left trash, who want to implement the very system of government control they constantly complain about!_
No disagreement with your assessment there. Of course, 1939's antifa were a very different group than today's larpers.
It would probably aid you to understand the difference between the past (including tense) and the present (including tense). Look before you leap.
@@gagamba9198 UK and France both signed treaties with the Nazis before the USSR did. Stalin only signed on to try and delay war. He did also fancy a bit of Poland as a buffer against Nazi aggression tbf
Antifa's origins are in secret german labourers gathering, still during Nazism. The ones who weren't arrested and sent for death or work camps for being leftwing.

That was a mixed bag of emotions for me. A good laugh at the beginning, but then I wasn't sure what to feel. The money was a wonderful gesture. I'm not so sure about the booze.
@@BV-nq7wd Unfortunately, I doubt that guy would have used that money for better purpose, although I believe everyone should be given a chance to change their ways.

@@gordonfreeman8109 I read a legend (?) about a miracle of Our Lady of Kazan (Virgin Mary).

"Lee Harvey Oswald is the man who...didn't shoot Kennedy!" The best description.
100% truth!
so who shot Kennedy? ..because it seems convincing enough to me that Oswald, who'd lived in Minsk for 3 years and become a soviet supporter and returned to the US with beef against the US government had every reason to do it. And placing him in the book repository was circumstantial enough to cement the claim. Was he innocent?

in Warsaw they also have KFC in soc. realistic building, but nothing crazy like this :-D
Fun story, we don't have KFC in my country (Belgium) The firs ttime I saw a KFC, was in eastern Europe. I passed the building, the logo with all the red and the old man, the KFC letters. my first thought was: this must be the building of the communist party, that old guy featured on the flag must be some important communist leader.
it's not a special kfc, it's a piece of art and history ruined by a chicken shop they've stuck there.

Oh Bald, never change
If im not mistaken, the "original antifa" was a group in Germany, actually, while the Nazis were trying to gain power.
But I guess in another sense, the soviet soldiers were in a way, like the modern antifa in the USA. They are both communists, both pawns, and both discarded when they no longer have a use. Though the soviets fought actual nazis, and antifa just threw bricks and glass bottles and bike locks at people's heads for not being upset at the things they were upset about.
