Why was he ignored? He's lived in the US for over 20 years and he can't even get shoes to fit his feet...? WTH! He wasn't asked to be born this way.. What kinda world we livin in? That's nice of Reebok to do that.. But how many pairs will he get and for how long..?

If you would've paid attention, he doesn't have simple ordinary feet. The guy designing the shoes said that they had to pay attention to his medical needs & how his feet are going to change.
Reebok saying it costs that much is likely to draw more attention to this story, which is good business for them. All that aside, I'm glad this guy is getting the help he needs for free. Must be a hard life, and I feel for him.

well if you think about it, everybody past 6ft is considered a giant compared to 60 years ago, where i believe there was only 4-6 tall people at 6ft4, and now being over 6ft5 is pretty normal, especially for males.

It is $500 at some places for a normal person to get fitted....so hell no will it be that cheap for him. Plus what he is getting is far better than the average custom fitting...so yeah I believe the 20k thing. They are calculating how his feet will be in the future also, not just now.
Creating a completely new pair of shoes that size and accounting in all the hours of work Reebok's employees would have to put in to create the shoe, 20,000$ sounds about right. You heard where it said it would take 6 weeks right?
Our local Marshalls Retail Store has Size 22 Nikes on the shelf all the time.
Reebok just found itself a customer after this. was gonna get 2 pairs of nikes but heading to reebok to spend my money there later today

I doubt they were being kind, It's advertising for them. He could get a pair of shoes made up in South East Asia for far less. $10,000-20,000 USD for a pair of shoes is a con. IMO.

its custom made, the whole scienice behind the whole thing. you think that the money they are putting into this would im guessing be put into a new design, so they are effectively creating a new shoe from scratch because of his medical condition and the weight of the shoe and himself aswell. so when he needs a next pair, it will cost less due to the information already being known, so im guessing 2k
