Recently Sam Ash Music was lucky enough to get an invite to the C.F. Martin facility in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. We were also treated to a somewhat rare occurrence; a museum tour hosted by Chris Martin IV himself.
See and hear the legendary D45, known simply as the "Holy Grail", the very first Martin D28, and much more!
Come along as Chris gives a personal account of his family's history and legacy, in addition to highlighting examples from the genesis of Martin Guitar, through the "Golden Age", and all the way up to the current Martin lineup and beyond.

Sam Ash Music thank you for taking the time to set this tour up with Chris Martin. When I lived back East my brother and I would buy all gear at your White Plains Store great people. Thanks again.
Having purchased a D18 back in the mid '70's, there really is a Martin sound. And it is very special indeed. Excellent tour, thank you Chris, and Sam Ash.
God bless you guys... Your guitars are beautiful. Artwork...
Sounds like Angel's singing....
Thanks Brotherrrrrr
thanks for your accurate, complete, really useful tests
When my father passed away in 1978 he left a guitar behind that my mother gave to me. It was a little worn and has a small crack on the back it is a martin D18 after watching this video i know a little more about the companys history and its possible value
Fred Valencia Give it TLC- they’re so beautiful 🙂
Took the tour in May 2007... Everyone Go There. Everyone Get a Guitar!! 🎶🎵🎶...And Sam Ash is a Great Music Store!!!
Quasi 2 secoli di chitare ....dev'essere emozionante stare lì!
👍🎸
I love the look of Brazilian rosewood and I believe it should be used when available just for heritage sake. But the rosewood Martin uses today sounds jus as great. maybe not as beautiful but they sound fantastic and still offer excellent looks.
I have an hd28v and I gotta say it's lovely. I played a 67 d35 and it sounded better, but I think when mines 50 years old it'll sound almost as good. I'm happy with East Indian, and I agree there's nothing wrong with using responsibly harvested Brazilian, which is all wood that was chopped down and has been sitting around since cites came about anyway. What else are builders gonna do with it?
I finally got my new D18 yesterday!! Thank you Mr. Martin. I'm alright! I love it!
Nice!
it is nice to see a museum with incredible martins so small they were i wonder if the president played one
you should contact Forderer and add his collection into an antique acoustic museum
Maybe some day you'll let me play one...
I'm embarrassed... I'm poor...
God bless you guys...
They could use some lighting
so if i come take that tour do i get to play the d28 too?
I think the victim is the one at 2:42 in the middle!
Very bad, very sad!
Well done Kurt Russell lol
+z5teve I hope the movie company compensated the Museum as the Guitar was insured at the original buying price!
