I just discovered your podcast and enjoyed watching it. Thank you for teaching me the correct pronunciation of my spinning wheel - Louet. Here in the US we pronounce it with a hard “t”. Your way is so much prettier. Welcome to the rabbit hole of spinning. I started on a spindle as well and then graduated to a wheel. P.S.. Your new bag is beautiful!

Thank you for finding me! I am really not sure it is the correct pronunciation! I am new to spinning and for some reason decided to go a kind of French route with the pronunciation but all the references I can find to it pronounce it your way so I think I am wrong! My partner's boss is Dutch so I will ask him 😂 Thank you so much for watching 🥰

The Zig Zag blanket just came out, all garter stitch. I like it but would perfer the squares to be smaller. Reminds me of Rail Fence quilt pattern. Lovely knits. Envious you get to go to all these wool shops in different countries. I am in remote Canada and my nearest wool shop is 174 km away. I online shop 95% of the time. Not the same as seeing all the breathtaking colours in person. Like you I gravitize toward green every time .

Do you mean the Zigzag Zen Blanket from Anniina Juuti? If so, yes, I think that is an excellent suggestion and I think it looks like you can customise it somewhat to just use the smaller squares perhaps? I am lucky to have all these yarn shops on my doorstep, but to me you are the lucky one living in rural Canada!!!!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰

I don't know if this helps but I've been always told to roll up your knit wear. Even your socks. Never fold or put on a hanger. ❤

Such muted colours then, pizzazz, shocking pink!!! You'll be like Martyn on knit365...."I'm a spinner now"....that's a whole new rabbit hole. Have a lovely time at Wonderwool with your mum. The spinning wheel could be your hand luggage. Wear all your clothes like Joey in Friends when he's moving house.

Hahahahaha I know, right?! Deciding what knitwear to take is a genuine first-world problem 😂 Regarding the spinning wheel, the lovely organiser of the knit-night I go to has offered me an extended loan of her spare Ashford Kiwi 2 so that itch will be scratched for now! How lucky am I?! Thanks again for watching and commenting! 🥰

Hi! Re the Blanket, I knitted a blanket, one square at a time. It's the Creative Advent Throw by Cozy Up Knits. I use it all the time. I made it with my a Christmas Advent purchase. The blanket itself is not Christmas themed. I believe the pattern was for fingering or DK yarn.
    Love your podcast!

Another very enjoyable podcast. After teaching myself to use a drop spindle, I am doing some spinning workshops to decide about buying a wheel. I’m finding it much harder than the drop spindle but can totally see how your drummer partner would have an advantage! Enjoy your trip back to Wales and the time with your family.

Hello Kathryn. Nice to find you here on youtube! I also want to knit a scrapy blanket. Although I know how to crochet, I believe that crochet stitch is very "decorative" and I do not like it so much. As you said, I want a blanket out of motifs. Not only because it will be too hot to work with during summer but also because I want to make it big and it will not be easily manageable as one piece.I am hunting for the "perfect" pattern ages now.
There are some very nice pattern with motifs that start from the center, like
"From Grandma with Love" by Melanie Bergor
"Nectar blanket" by Ysolda Teague or
    "Vivid" by tincanknits
but the motifs are knitted in the round and a magic ring is the beginning of each motif and I believe that they are very intricate, at the beginning at least. I am leaning towards to find a pattern like
    "Seersucker Dishcloth" by nalhcib or
    "Reversible Pinwheel Block" by nalhcib
that are knitted flat and use them as a motif for my blanket.
I am looking forward seeing what you will decide. Thanks for the nice podcast. Kisses from Athens, Greece.

Lovely podcast Katherine. I’m loving all your makes, both the cowl & yutori are gorgeous and I immediately want a tweed project bag! Have you seen the nectar blanket by Ysolda Teague? there are several beautiful makes on project pages with examples of solid colour but the scrappy versions are equally stunning 😊

I love your podcast, and thank you for the suggestion to make a Cozy Memories blanket. I shall make one of these. 😊 I feel for you when you talk about being homesick. I lived in Pennsylvania for many years and I missed Canada so much. I thought I would miss the big city life of Toronto, however, I mostly missed the cottage country in Ontario. I’m glad to be back home now. Your partner seems like a terrific person and I’m glad he keeps you company in Germany

What about a mitre square blanket? But it means grafting on the sides as you go so dealing with a growing blanket in your lap. Too hot. We were in Bagar, Italy and outside the hotel unpacking the motorbikes. A lady walking down the road towards us, saying I could hear the distinctive Aussie accent. We were from South Australia. She was from Western Australia, visiting her Italian relatives. A small world.
