Dude, your excitement is contagious. I've never heard of half the gear you cover, and a cheap phone running Sunvox can probably do everything the gear does (and would probably be easier to use), but I am genuinely giddy about it by the end of the video. I love this channel. Don't stop telling us the history of samplers.
Thanks Fam!!..I really appreciate it!!
the energy is real , fire as allways
Thanks!!
Still have mine with the extra 8 output expansion for a total of 16 analog outputs. Hehehe... The only rhing keeping mine frim beung a Platinum is the RFX32 card. However, it's too expensive, hard to find, and I don't need it since I have16 outs. I had ny E-MU E4XT Ultra since 2008. Although I hardly use it, I kept it all these years because it sounds so darn good!!!! However, I need to spend more time with it. Yeah....
Thanks for doing a video on THIS!!!!!
There needs to be a music gear museum and this man needs to be is curator.
Lmao!!! Thanks!
That Akai remote pod was the shiznit, hard to compete with that. Software samplers were already starting to come out about that time, Gigasampler, Halion.
Yup!!
Been waiting on this one. You don't miss.
Lol Thanks bro.
Interesting-never knew the history of these units
Yeah dope samplers..Nowadays can be a lil confusing for some on which one to get.
Hey DyReck, you went through the E-MU samplers and didn't go into the series that mine is part of. I got the E-MU ESI 2000 Turbo about a year ago. Aside from hooking it up in the shop and when I got home, so far I've not used it on a project yet. The filters on the Turbo is something else. Although I'm not really into rack samplers I couldn't pass this sampler as it's something different
Yeah the E-MU ESI 2000 Turbo are cool very similar to the Ultras in some aspects..I was gonna mention the 2000 and the 4000 Turbo..Actually even have a version of the vid talking a lil bout them but it started to get really confusing Lol!..If someone doesn't understand the E-MU line all theses different samplers can get confusing in one video lol.
My very first sampler was an E-MU ESI2000. I still have that one as well. I never did get the Turbo upgrade for it though.
I almost bought the 4000 until the Proteus 2k came out. Plus by then I had the MPC2000
Love your videos
Thanks fam!
Your channel is entering me into original SIn I lust after all this old shit after spec' ing a few of your vids😎
Just so easy to use and versatile. Filters sound insane. I love doubling up drum samples, messing with filters, and damn that patch cord section is dope. has a great phasing effect that is instantly recognizable from classic DnB
Word!!
I had the EMU ESI series after selling my EMAXII. At that time I was triggering sounds to my drum pads
Dj DyReck giving us a smile of the day when we need one. Those are rare commodities nowadays. Smiles... I meant great grooveboxes... Both actually 😅
Nice 3rd strike shout out lol. fun vid
Yup the drum and bass wizards.
Yup!
Yo D you gonna do a vid on the Roland W30 AKA Erick Sermon secret weapon
Ahh man!..You know ima have to get on that!
Came here from Christian henson and daniel pemberton talking about it
This thing really was a beast. It's true, many amazing drum and bass tracks were made with this and a mackie mixer driven hard. Ed Rush and Optical used it a lot. I've had to stop myself from buying one, because I know I would just end up using my DAW anyways.
Its kinda like that with most gear nowdays :D
Lol!! I feel you!!
I have been looking at these, and it seems to be the best sampler, better than the Akai ones too.
Some folks feel there neck n neck..The akai S 5000 6000 and Zseries are a bit cleaner in sound.. Some people dont like that and others love it.
The entire Emulator IV line is killer, especially when compared to the competition. Like you said, a staple for drum & bass producers. Have 3 Emulator IV's on deck, one from each gen - including this beast here (just updated with the analog 8-out card.) Replace the floppy with a zulu-scsi, get X3 running on a Virtual Machine & you're in business
also dying at the troll / jacket tangents 😂entertaining and informative as always
Oh ok I was looking at the Ultras on ebay ..Ima look into getting X3 running on the Virtual Machine.
My E4k (keyboard version) lies on a shelf looking at me :( it has the ASCII input socket for a qwerty keyboard which massively helps navigation and cut down on button fatigue.
Yeah bro I have one. It's a great-sounding unit.
I still got my emu emu 4xt and 6400 them joints had the asr nervous
Lol!
History at its best!
Thanks bro!!
WHAT HAD HAPPENED WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAS
Yes SiRR!!!!!!
Nice man.
Thanks bro!
How much do they cost now?
Now I really liked this machine it was warm and fat sounds plus you can get dirty with mkz
I feel you!
Cool 😎 👍🏿
Thanks!
Do you leave "ALL CAPS" on when you write your scripts? Or was Captain Lou Albano a huge influence?
LMAO!!..Wrestling was always a big influence!
Jork and gene michael jar hahaha
why butchering Jean Michel Jarre name?
What had happend was... 1994. Back in the buildung.
Yes Sir!!
Cut, copy, AND paste?
Sample edit tools.
John Michael Jar
I been saying my last name wrong all these years!! lol.
Bjork is pronounced Byork! 👊🏽
Thanks bro!
I think it's byerk, like jerk, but everyone in America says byork, like fork
Probably got sidelined when the whole Fizmo thing went down.😅
True!
Uhhh... it's an E4XT ultra. Why? Because it is an Emulator. Learn more of your history dog.
E-mu also made the E4K T(urbo) ultra at the same time.
Still, funny theatrics, but a lot of filler for not much story.
