Just found your channel. I felt just like you. I didn't fit in and no matter what I did, nothing was ever good enough. I was also getting depressed by the meetings, all the speakers would talk about is how horrible the world is in detail and then say come back next week for another life saving meeting. If I mention doing stuff that would problem solve to witness, they would act like i'm strange. If we had a meeting about sisters can't date worldly, i would suggest, have a singles meet and greet so they can meet witnesses, people would say that's not allowed. We would have a meeting discussing the pollution, i would suggest, we get together and plant trees as the kingdom hall sits on lots of land, they looked at me strange. Also living in America, I remember I got my hair in box braids and was told, i look worldly. I met another sister who said she had a part on the assembly and when they were rehearsing an elder told her, she has to change her hair before going on stage. (she had natural hairstyle.) natural hair and braids are still not accepted everywhere in USA.
This is so heartbreaking 💔, thank you so much for sharing. Not being accepted for who you are and as you are is so painful and damaging. Black people need to be more intentional about creating spaces for ourselves to avoid such. I hope you're continuing to rock your beautiful hair in all the hairstyles YOU love.
This is so true back in 2002 I was growing locs an Elder told me that was a worldly style and so I went home and cut them out. I remember I was going through a divorce and the same Elder told me I had to get real proof that my ex-husband was having an affair before I could marry again.
I couldn't go on hear say that he was having a baby. I owned property and another Elder told me that I shouldn't charge 1000 for rent back in 2002 and that I should lower it so I could rent to the friends.
The last straw was when another Elder told me I wouldn't need my MBA in the new system. So glad I left that cult...They hate single women having means for themselves and don't have to answer to a male.
@@gailbozeman9626 I'm sorry that happened to you and glad you got free!
All I can say is, Thank SoNini NaNini, my brothers and sisters on the continent are waking up. All praises to the Most High!!
Our time is now! Thank you so much for watching, Shakka. 💛
@Shakka Musa: you mean Africa? That would be great news! Over here in Europe people are leaving the Watchtower!
Blessings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
I woke up 5 months ago and it's being very hard for My family
Thank you for this education opportunity and the work you put in. And thanks for adding your voice.
And thank you so much for taking the time to watch. 💛
Thanks so much for making this video and educating us about decoloniality. I read that study about how JWs affect African Americans when I first woke up. It was interesting and so true. They also exploit people with disabilities as well. I hope this gets many more views. Much love from the US🤗💞
Thank you so much for watching, S 💛 I'll keep putting out more
Thank you for doing this video. I grew up in it (left awhile ago) and one thing I always noticed was how every prophecy they had was based on events that happened in Europe. I remember wondering why wouldn’t the slave trade or African colonization be one of the markers for the end of the world? That would actually make more sense. The way they would casually ignore non-European history when making their “prophecies” that would affect the entire world never sat right with me.
Wow! That's revealing a lot about Watchtower and its racial views...
Thank you making me realise how 'narrow minded' I still am as a white European...
Thank you for this information and waking ME up!
Keep up the good work!💪♥️🇳🇱
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch 💛
I am so glad you enjoyed it Elizabeth, thank you for watching 💛
My brother sent me this link. Today is my Shabbat and your video was the last one watched before I went to bed. I appreciate your teaching on colonialisms. I will get back to you because I have some questions, so I'll have to study this instead of just watching. See you after I study. ♥️
They knew black people were disenfranchised people
And they took advantage to further their agenda.

I love this video! Thank you!
Wow. I’m only 7 minutes deep and I love how you started. I made a similar video today and someone on Reddit sent me your video. I love how you started off. Now let me continue watching
Thank you so much for watching, Kevan. Please let me know your thoughts. I'm going to check out yours. Please share a link.
I found the video! Let me check it out
@@MonicaRaseroka I watched it while walking home. I loved it. There’s a bunch of terms that I was completely unaware of. But I can now see how attractive this religion was to black people. Because even if to todays standards they were anti black. For that time period they were still more accepting than others. But I completely agree that they try to strip an identity while converting me members
Well spoken! My parents are from the Mollucan Islands (now occupied by Indonesia, before that it was occupied by the dutch for 350 years) and I am married to a Dutch man (He woke 20 years ago after our son woke up at 16). So we are a blendid couple😄. But I noticed in the JW cult publications, you never see a 'mixed' couple or a 'mixed' race family. Now I understand it more. Thank you for exposing the cult JW.
And thank you so much for watching 💛 when did you wake up?
I was een POMI since I think since 2021, last year I had asked a JW to explain some questions/discoveries I had, and I asked him to only study the bible with me. But he tried to lured me into their app, so I watched some video's that made me cringe😅. He could not answer my questions so I he said I can only study the publications with you😄😄 so I said I am going to stop it because I love to be a Barean😄. I woke up fully, from POMI to POMO when I read the childabuse policy. Made me sick to my stomach and that they followed the UN/WHO guidelines in regards to the injections. I believe in freedom of medical choices, but when I talked to JW’S they all took it because it was asked by the 8 popes from NY.
@@sanderooij I am sooooo happy you made it out. 😊 Here's to your freedom 🥂✨️
You know what ...thinking back in the early 80's or 90's I never saw a black or mix couple in the magazines when they use to draw the pictures..
You could say much more about racist roots of Watchtower. Segregations in kingdom halls, collaboration with KKK, articles with racist contains.
Wow! I will definitely look this up and do a follow up video
@@MonicaRaseroka there is an article from way back when that stated the Negro would turn "white" in Paradise, once mankind was perfected..doesn't surprise me, there are plenty more articles like this in their publications from way back when..their role, ALONG with the countless other denominations was to hide the identity of the true Biblical Israelites..the higher ups know who we are and have hidden it, using a "spiritual Israelite" doctrine which has pagan roots.. they will suffer for their hand in all of this.
@Mc Cord I once heard of this in a RUclips video. Thank you so much for reminding me. I'm definitely going to do a video about this.
There's so much to unpack about this evil organization.
May I ask before colonization were lgbtq people accepted in African nations?
Yes, they even held very important positions in society.
Last year's convention was very much "Black lives matter", especially the two part drama feature.
That still can't erase their racist past, Charles Taze Russell being a Zionist, and how they demonize indigenous cultures.
I will never forget a particularly awful JW piece of propaganda, in which an African man comments on the white witnesses who came to his door as being “like angels”.
I have seen plenty of cult propaganda and never encountered anything like this before or since. Witnesses love going on about how great those who go door to door are but they are not described as “angels”.
I can’t say whether it was deliberate but it truly stunned me…bonus points for the way it was shot, with the white witnesses in this halo of white light.
It was straight from “white man’s burden” rhetoric.
Then there has been plenty of talk about traditional African garb not being acceptable at Kingdom halls.
Hi, I'm back after studying your video my brother sent me. It was thought provoking and I learned about your thoughts on JWs as anti-black, about Decoloniality and
Coloniality. I am 73 years old. I was associating with JWs as a child in the 50s with family members in Chicago and later got baptized in 1971 at 20 in Los Angeles. Disfellowshipped in 1998 near Chicago because Jehovah wanted me to get out of Babylon the Great 😃
I'd like to talk about some things in your video.
4:00 climate change:
I ALWAYS was taught that cleanliness was closer to godliness. As an individual I needed to show Jehovah I was worthy to be in the Kingdom by being a clean person, I'm not sure who taught you the opposite. I'm sure there is a good story behind it.
4:33 gay people: Were people stalking you? How do they know the preferences of your friends? Did they know that gay people, like hetero people are sometimes celebrate for many reasons? SMH
5:09: lying to protect themselves: This is such a human trait so much so that religions are the same in this respect. JWs are not alone here. This is why it
Is so important that Jehovah is not a liar.
10:50: Where does it say that Rutherford said that he did not want Black people in his religion? (I'll also ask my brother, he seems to know a lot about Rutherford)
11:05: Christianity and Judaism were in Africa such as Ethiopia, the Kingdom of Kongo, and other places along the Kingdom of Juda and Negroland in Africa before the Atlantic slave trade. Yet, these people were not released as educated Catholics such as for the Kongolese king pleadings for his people, but were taken away by the Portuguese to be Christian slaves by Christians.
12:43 a blessing in disguise: I agree with you here. Here is the lying Christian again. Jews and Christians found sanctuary among the animists and flourished before the Islamic and Atlantic slave trade IN AFRICA. But the curses of Deuteronomy 28 had to be fulfilled, so, there was no blessing here.
13:00: the JW publication states or asks the question, "why were they looked over and what should they do now"? (I'm paraphrasing) the answer should have come next but you didn't state that. Did they say why Blacks were looked over? What publications are you using?
14:40: Jehovah's witnesses DID go to Africa to proselytize. It wasn't that the Africans were in the United States alone that allowed JWs to preach to us.
15:46: if you have never heard that Black people already knew about a new heaven new Earth no more pain all the good things about the New Life then you have not heard their negro spirituals, you have not heard their old time gospel you have not heard their Christianity and their beliefs, the reasons why churches were built from scratch with their own hands in the South and the North. Their beliefs were strong way before Jehovah's Witnesses came to their door.
17:00: I'm uncomfortable with you viewing Black people as one lump of people who think the same, walk the same, talk the same, believe the same and not as individuals. Just sayin'
18:00: I agree about being White washed ESPECIALLY during the Black revolution of the 70s. (I got into so much trouble) 🙂
21:05: government cannot bring change for Black people. This was the same for White people in America. None of us could vote.
24:10: "When no one else was doing at that time": The Baha'i Faith was speaking about the Black issues and including them in the 19th century.
Queen Victoria had an adopted Nigerian daughter. AME churches were starting up all over America without the help of White people. Unitarians were also accepting Black people.
27:00: "what about the other Bible verses you guys have added on to what about those"? So, what are the Bible verses you are talking about that were added and are these verses any different than the thoughts from other churches?
28:15: "it's an organization that forces people to all be the same". But this is the same thing that you are doing when you say that all black people act a certain way.
I could probably write a book about my 30+ years experience with JW and my refusal to return, but I am going to wait for your Part 2.
You did a 👍 good job.
Thanks for your video.

@10:16 Wow, I'm sorry... 52% of JWs in the US are Black?! Could you please share your source on that figure? That's incredibly and surprising high
Hi there, please check the description box. I sourced that figure from a research report. I was also surprised because around the 2010's it was a much smaller figure.
@@MonicaRaseroka I made a second comment citing the source with a link; it's not clear what happened to it. A footnote on page 2 of the paper states that "Black Americans account [for] between 27 percent and 52 percent of JWs' U.S. demographic." Caution should be used before citing the upper end of that statistical range until substantial proof can be provided.
@TheyDontKnowImHere thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'll note this as such for the future. I didn't question this figure because in SA, black people make up a very high % of JWs.
Great video

When you’re involved in one of the false religions you are always vulnerable to false teachings that will misguide you. In that regard you will have an errant spirit if you continue with them and your mind will be confused. God is not the God of confusion. Keep seeking and knocking and you will find, and the door will be opened… trust in Jesus Christ and His salvation. “You must be born again.” Anyone not born again is a false believer and there are many who call themselves Christians who are not. Die to your worldly self and you will be saved.
You will take up salvation and be a new creature.
For JWs any bad news is good news.
For real hey 😅
😀
Another reason is because there is not much money in Africa.
From the people or for the religion?
@@MonicaRaseroka From the people. As a white I am as poor, and I am nothing to them.
You would be surprised how much money they actually make from the poor. Remember, the people donate and pay for their own publications, kingdom halls, and conventions. The religion takes the money and invests it. They are selling kingdom halls, receiving government subsidies and not paying much taxes.
Dub don't care so much for the black.
They don't!
