I’m a 60 year old grandma, definitely not the COD demographic. This was my first COD game, and I enjoyed it enough to play it twice. I also thoroughly appreciate your knowledgeable and thoughtful review. I enjoyed World at War more. WWII felt kind of isolated. The health system in WWII was more challenging, but like a junky I love the auto health regen in the other COD games.

In 1942, my grandpa had to be rushed from his combat zone on a stretcher because ping too high. The medics tried to save him, but it was too late for my grandpa, and he unfortunately died 4 hours later due to complications with error 43.

I'm surprised he didn't talk about the one thing I hated most about the zombies mode which was the "jump scares". Where a zombie would appear and your camera would forcibly focus on it for a second and your character would get startled. Like it would make sense on round 1 but when it's still happening on round 30 after killing hundreds of zombies why are you still getting jump scared? It made no sense and sometimes got me killed because it takes away your control of the camera for a moment. It was so bad

When I played the waw campaign, I felt like as if I was listening to a few veterans describe their time during the war in detail. While I played the ww2 campaign, it’s like I was watching a Hollywood movie.

I've been re-watching your CoD reviews, and this reminds me of how I preordered WWII from gamestop, the $100 version mind you, which was supposed to come with a couple of cool physical things.
Well, I only walked out with the steelbook case because apparently my store didn't have enough of the pre-order bonus items in stock. Plus, the pre-order bonuses didn't show up until 3 weeks to a month after playing. $100 for a steelbook case and late in-game bonus items. What a tragedy this game was.
My Great Uncle was running from the Nazis just seconds after escaping the concentration camp. He almost got away. He saw a path and he ran down it, only to run face first into an invisible barrier. The Nazis caught up to him, and shot him dead.

The mission to save innocent civilians and the little girl is the most memorable. It's where we (the player) are given a chance to save lives, not take them. And I like stories that have the strong protecting the innocent, it's just great to see. But it's sad to see that the rest of this game couldn't live up that one moment, because if given the changes it needed, it could have been a great game.
I remember June 16th, 1944, I was in Germany after a battle and I saw a loot crate fall down from the sky and I was forced to watch Sergeant Daren open it only to get random pistol grips that didn't help him in the long run. He died two weeks later when he was killed by a black female Nazi, he will be forever missed.

man this is really disappointing that those still images of the map look better than the actual map. I would rather play a match on the LONDON BRIDGE than the docks around it. That also goes for the top right, why can’t we fight in that huge field with snipers in surrounding buildings, that would provide better gameplay than 3 lane garbage. Why are that the blocked off areas of the maps look more appealing than the playable area of the map?

17:48 Not to mention In previous BF games and even in BF1 there are levolutions, For example the arch on sinai desert can collapse and add more cover and paths, And buildings can be destroyed. Cod Makes it feel restricted and gives you constant cover instead of making your OWN cover, It makes the maps feel unrealistic, The reason games like titanfall have great maps is because they make the maps look believable but add a slight bit of design for gunfights and combat, its a organic fight. COD makes it so the map design comes after cover, and making it fair for the people fighting. In titanfall or BF1, I Sometimes get into unfair fights where I cant compete, But it teaches the player to learn those positions and use them instead of giving the same bullshit over and over again where you cant learn the nooks and cranies of the map to gain the upper hand.

imagine if CoD actually tried Medpacks in Zombies. I think that might be an interesting twist on zombies, but maybe to balance it out, the maps will be more spread out, larger, and possibly an entire rework of the point system (not like what they did with cold war) or maybe even how you get items in the first place, though i think keeping the box would probably still work.
Anyone else willing to brainstorm about this?

Edit: i just had an idea and here it is: What if there was a map that takes place in a factory? And forgive me since I’m not caught up on the lore, but what if this factory created the stuff in Zombies like the wonder weapons, the drinks and medic bags? There could be a whole new crew made up of factory employees trying to navigate their way out of the giant factory.
This is just a crazy thought, but what if later into the game, wonder weapons become more accessible? But the twist here is that these wonder weapons are half-finished products grabbed off the assembly line that are liable to explode in the player’s face.

I didn't play the multiplayer at all but I'm glad someone else noticed the lack of soul in the zombies. Really sucks because I think the style they went for was almost as good as BO1 but they just couldn't figure out how to give the game a soul

A year later, from my last review and I stand by it. I personally respect your opinion. I feel as though the game has changed and improved a bunch. The classes actually mean something. The maps are all though restrictive. I like them because of their history, and I am also not paranoid about getting shot from every angle. The game modes are suitable for a cod game, and there is a prop hunt. The SFX is excellent, especially the feeling when you get a headshot with a sniper. Score streaks are more accessible or challenging to get depending on the map. Supply drops aren't entirely useless. Most of the bugs have been fixed. Also, maps for me, I don't really think about just 3 lanes because you could go left choke point, shoot someone flanks look behind, then shoot. I just try and get creative on the maps. If you like those games, play Garden Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 2, or cod black ops. Also, I will always support you no matter what your opinion on a game is. I love this channel and always will. For me, Garden Warfare 2 is one of my favorite multiplayer games, but I enjoy Cod WII. P.S I don't entirely disagree with some of the things you said.

This game was a perfect example of how it got good way too late. When this game first came out, it was pretty trash. As time went on though and they started adding more content to the game it got better.
It probably doesn’t help that nobody really played this game because everyone was addicted to playing fortnite.

Honestly I massively enjoyed cod WW2, whilst it had its issues, it was by a land mile the most overhated Call of Duty game.
Whilst the campaign is very cliche and only focuses on 2 powers, it tells a beautiful story with what it had at its disposal.

I really like your perspective review. But to be honest, I like the Characters and Brotherhood type feel to it. I never played COD WW2 for Multiplayer. I really liked the campaign, it's memorable. But I really wish they added more missions.

At this point, I don’t want a new modern warfare, because it will be a modern remake of this. I want a simple, modern warfare 3 remake, set in present time when it was made, during a ww3 because of a certain president of the United States of America (trump)
I hate Sledgehammer games and the only good COD companies were Infinity Ward and Activition.
The only thing you'd get is a CoD thats not remastered or remade, but rebastared. Remember what they did last time they remade modern warfare. They made it, added microtransactions in post and all of the DLC was not only not included, it was more expensive than it was when it was new. Its that kinda bollocks Activision will pull now with CoD, and its a shame.

I thought the tank section was in its own way intriguing because it is a different form of tank battle than we see in WaW, WaW being an open field on the eastern front where armor is pushed to and fro for ground control. WWII is the other side of tank warfare tight urban areas in the key cities of Europe, where you have to think about your position, and the corridors the streets form.
Agreed I personally haven't played it, but it seemed like a deliberate creative choice, not made out of technical limitations, I think they wanted to invoke the feelings they did; it looks tight and constricted controlling a tank but not being able to go through the buildings like in most videogames, instead having to go through alleyways with tank control
It's funny how battlefield released one the best games in their franchise, and cod made one of their worst games to date.
