You are so helpful sir. After watching a lot of videos and never commenting I can drift so much better, I remember asking you to teach me 1 on 1 haha. I have a real life S14A and soon I'm going to drift that so I'll probably send some clips to you or on my channel. My new hobby is getting real now😎💪
Lee01Mr yeah, I remember saying I’d make tutorials, it just took a while haha. Glad to hear you’re getting the hang of it! @ me when you post vids and I’ll take a look ✌🏻
Luke Fink has a really good vid on it in his video library, but he doesn’t break things down the same way I do…you might scope his vid out to help you get a more full idea of what it looks like to do them and the rough steps and timing. Luke’s 360’s are way better than mine, man is a proper ripper 🤙🏻
Your videos keep getting better. Keep up the good work, and Left foot braking tutorial next maybe? like how to use it in tandem or just to scrub speed.
JT_Pro thanks! Ooh that’s a fun one. I’m thinking about doing solo techniques first and then moving into tandems...working my way towards the basics like clutch kicks (you’ll see why in my tutorial video outros eventually)
DeChrysen join them discord and there should be some settings in there to look at. Or you could ask other members. There’s usually someone online that’ll help out.
DeChrysen Zack’s answer is on point, but I keep a shortcut on my phone for these since I get asked all the time😁 Here are my wheel settings for my Fanatec CSW: FFB 35-50 depending on the car; DRI 0; SPR 120; All other settings are at defaults, including in game settings. Congrats on your Fanatec gear, you’re gonna love it! 👏🏻
i hold the steering wheel full lock and flick it hard the other way when the car is at about a 180. Ive only done it in a awd on snow. (I find it helps to keep blipping the gas throughout the spin)
lol, what is this. I stumble on this channel a day ago and searched 360 drift entry the same evening. the next day, you publish this. can you read minds or something
young hollow haha if I could I’d probably have a few more subs, but I know there are people trying to learn the basic and move from intermediate to advanced, so I’m making videos around those topics! Hope it helps :)
@@KameTrick that would be insane. I love how you make just simple good video's and not the "look at my 1M dollar car wich has to much power so I can't control it" videos. You just enjoy drifting and you know how to control a car, that is what I love about you.
Thank you great tutorial it helped me out alot. I want to get better at drifting and am wondering how essential a handbrake is or if you would recomend one ?
I’m glad I could help! A handbrake is a valid tool that increases your options for how to drive, what lines to take, and making corrections when you inevitably make a mistake or misread the lead car: there are things you can only do with a handbrake. It’s also not the *only* tool for drifting, and there are skills you can and should learn without using one. So I think it’s an essential tool for drifting, but in no way do you have to get one before you get good at other drift techniques. Check out my “no ebrake challenge” drift videos and you’ll see an example of what you can do well without one, and where it helps a lot to have one: ruclips.net/video/38uhZTMVaNQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/2_grJRXg3ec/видео.html
in gran turismo you just hold handbrake for a second and maybe steer a bit. or you shake your car. handbrake while steering. steer to the other side while in reverse
It can depend on the available traction, but at minimum top of 2nd gear, ideally 3rd gear though you may have to go down to 2nd during the spin. In rain or snow you can be going slower 👍🏻
Why does the throttle seems to cut off at about 180 and I can't seem get the car to rotate further? I tried clutch in or out but always seems to just stop about 180....
I don’t even use throttle to spin the car in this vid, it’s al weight shift and I’m clutching in a bit before the car is facing sideways. Either way your weight shift I’d probably not strong enough, you’re going too slow, or the tires have too much grip (this all matters a lot more if you aren’t trying this on the same mod car-you could have something with significantly different characteristics)
I am playing on keyboard and I also want to do that but the problem is that it won`t let me change gears, for example going in reverse for first gear and i don`t know if there is a setting i should deactivate and if there is one can you let me know which one it is?
I’m not a keyboard specialist by any means, but you can bind keyboard keys to shift up and down, I guess you could try blasting through the gears for it. You don’t need reverse for 360s though, just clutch in while backwards
i have the same base as you CSW 2.5, curious if you dont mind sharing what you are using for wheel base settings, in game default I'm assuming? your wheel looks to have a slightly faster self steer than mine in your videos.
Backwards entry is the hardest one for me, 360 entry are pretty easy but whats even harder is tandems. I don't want to ruin a train because i don't know how to maintain a solid door to door drift.
alex miranda you definitely want to be car#2 when learning to tandem. The farther back you are the weirder tandem trains get haha. If you can do 360’s, you can do backies! 😁
@@KameTrick Haha, yes the trouble of video productions. Great Video, it really helped me polish up my 360 and help me find out where I was going wrong!
DangerNoodle ah...yeah I guess that makes some sense🤔 When I first tried to learn them I tried to combine an intentional spinout with the 180 degree spin from driving in reverse to driving forward...but I wasn’t keeping enough momentum for it to work well, so once I solidified my technique I settled on this description😅
@@KameTrick yeah the reverse to forward is essentially a J turn I guess. I break that down to spinning the car 180 and doing a J turn. For me it helps with to take it in kinda 2 distinct yet recognisable stages. Also because spinning a car out is kinda easy haha.
@@KameTrick on my first few attempts I did just that. Haha. Came out with so much angle that I could have probably got the car through another 180 degrees.
Luke Mtb pretty early on, around when I made my DW 180SX review video. I haven’t made a review on them though...I feel like it was fairly similar to the DW cars 🤔
Christopher_S_25 only a little bit. I’ve had the opportunity to grip race a 500whp STI on Hoosier A6’s (Autocross slicks) so I’ve felt the way you can strafe those cars on throttle. I don’t own one of my own so outside of sim I don’t have a ton of history with them...would love to drive more 😁
@@KameTrick Thanks for the reply! A great video idea that crossed my mind was you teaching us AWD Drift with the 22B on AC (honestly, I think it's easier than a 360 or a reverse entry drift)
Even just drifting well on controller in AC is difficult...but basically do the exact same inputs at the exact same time without FFB helping you know what to do when 👌🏻
@KameTrick, Hello Sir, I have been learning to drift watching your videos. Recently while learning 360s, I am facing this problem- where my car decides not to counter-steer in the middle of the 360. Can you help me somehow? Thanks!
I think I’d have to see a wheel cam+game capture to have a solid idea of what’s going on. Could be that you aren’t throwing enough weight shift at it, to where the car isn’t wanting to rotate past facing backwards which would explain the wheel not counter steering in the middle...but there are tons of variables so it’s hard to say without seeing what’s happening
Had to watch this cuz my friend in high school is flexing he can drift irl. And said I don’t even have decent clips. Ima see how tf he handles this. (He makes me mad sometimes)
Hmm...the timing for holding the steering wheel at the start, and when to throw it in the opposite direction is probably the key...I tried breaking down some things to try doing differently if you’re getting stuck backwards or not making it all the way around 😅
@@KameTrick I used same car same track 2nd gear. Just like a backie but more momentum and keep it floored. Stay countersteered like in a backie the whole time.
I think it should be possible to do, yes...it’s just a matter of making enough weight shift. In sim, go for it 👍🏻 IRL, I wouldn’t without further research: An IRL manual not put into neutral will probably spin the tires backwards briefly, which would so the same to the engine...which engines don’t like. Clutchless transmissions aren’t directly connected so the engine might be fine, couldn’t say. The trans may not like it either, not sure 🤔

I can't tell if it's the physics or the technique but these 360's are so slow and clunky looking. It's like the car has horrible front grip and it's not whipping into the spin anywhere close to how fast it happens IRL.
I haven’t done enough 360 entries IRL to have any insight to share, but I plan to do some this season so I’ll find out. Could also be the speeds, these were pretty slow so the forces wouldn’t be near as strong as a third gear 360 for example
