Part II coming soon!
Thanks JT. I swore in as an AM earlier this month. I'm extremely excited, and I've been looking all over your chanel trying to learn as much as I can.
This is an excellent idea for a series on your channel. I'd love to hear about all the jobs out there. Don't skip over AME, that was my job in DEP before I got picked up for AIRR a few days ago and am still curious as to their responsibilities.
Jt your videos are great man keep doing you, you're helping so many people myself included. Dishing out the knowledge that is not there creating your own path. You're doing amazing man.
appreciate the comment brother
Thanks Papa! That was great! I would love to learn more about Navy jobs. Hopefully I enlist in the Navy by the end of this year with all this knowledge you through out to the fam!
I was a ABF on the Constellation(cv-64) The ABF rate is not quite as simple as you make it sound, 3 million gallons of fuel, hundreds of various pumps and tanks, 4 pump rooms, 4 filter rooms, purifiers, thousands of valves and gauges, bringing fuel on board (UNREP). Anyone can fuel an aircraft but it takes a ABF to get "Bright and clear" fuel to the aircraft.
yeah there is a lot more to it but yeah anything dealing with fuel and hoses y'all are working on it
tom lynn I'm heading out to bootcamp in April and I chooses ABF .how tough is it?
tom lynn I agree with you tom! I'm currently an ABF and still serving. I've been on USS Essex, USS Bonhomme Richard, USS RONALD Reagan, USS George Washington and USS Theodore Roosevelt! There is a lot more to the Job I wished he covered but if your not an ABF your not going to know and understand the full aspect of our job. Sometimes I wished it was just as simple as dragging a hose and fueling an aircraft lol
Mary Eliza , I was a ABF when I was in the navy 1980-1984 USS Constellation, The ABF rate wasn't very tough to learn for me, The rate has probably changed a bit since I was in the navy , I liked working on the flight deck it was very exciting but when working below decks (pump rooms, filter rooms,etc..) can be very, very, very boring.
Mary Eliza A JP-5 pump room is at the very bottom of the ship it has no heads (rest rooms)you could be in a pump room for hours and hours and the only place to piss is in the bilge, that might be a bit of a challenge for girls. We didn't have women on carriers when I was in the navy so they have probably had to make changes to accommodate women.
Just finished meps (thank God) and signed up for abh and am shipping off in September. don't know what I would be doing with out your help JT. Thank you, keep making videos!
How was it? Are you still in, I’m thinking of going as a grape or maybe minesweeper.
thx for the vid fam can't wait to see more!
More Navy Jobs video to comeeeeeeeee
JTsuits can you please do one on officer jobs and also I have a quick question about the pilots where they tall or short?
Thank you for all the videos
JTsuits Maybe do one on AC's if you know anything about them? Shipping out in March and would love to know your thoughts on the job before I leave
JTsuits can you go over secf I just sign for that rate
Can you do one on AS jobs, barely any content on it :C
JTsuits I'm shipping for Navy basic in April to be an STG. Once I get my degree I plan to try out for SWCC. Maybe you can do a video on one of thoes? Thank you for the videos, they are very informational
Love it Love it Love it! Thanks man keep of the awesome work.
yes! 30 days out from shipping as an ABH. needed this in my life.
Atrocity UD how’s ABH advancement?

had a great friend who was an AT1.....he served with lots of Squadrons.....Air Navy was his pride and joy
Nice video man 👊👌
Anyone else think that the tow driver was gonna push the plane overboard??
Brandon Kuzla I thought so too i was so ready to laugh
I was terrified that it would be me the first few times I drove the tractor.
Congrats on 28k bro !!
thnx fam !
What up fam!!! Great info!!! I plan to do one with sub tech later on. Btw I just made it to Cali the other day and I'll be down here till the end of the month.lookimg forward to next video!

JTSuits Also I love your videos!
Great content Shipmate 🙏🇺🇲 FMR ABE
I love your videos bro... I signed an ABF contract and I leave for boot camp in November!
how was abf?
@@killa_kxm5519 I ended up coming in undes. I struck AO. I’ve done two deployments on carriers and I honestly think I would’ve hated ABF.
@@demetriusgrady8115 really why’s that? i chose that rate and i ship out in less than a week 😅
Enlisting tomorrow definitely shooting for abh
Finally! Love this idea! Keep this going strong! I've been training and studying to join the navy, but I still don't know what I want to do for a job, this will give me a lot of knowledge of the jobs and the titles so I have a good idea of what I'm picking for a job when they give me my list! Thank you JT for all your help and support! Keep the family going!
thnx for the comment and ur support !!
My dad was a ABE in the 80s. If I can get in I wanna go ABH.
Just graduated boot camp today and checked into A school on that forever chicago grind (FC). Great vid as always.
Swifty Digitz congrats fam !!!! How was boot ?? ,,, vids help ?
Swifty Digitz congratulations man, How was basic?
Have fun my dude. FC A School is no joke. I just comped yesterday after a year.
M67Fragment yea im a little anxious because I wasn't the best student in high school and I heard ATT is no joke so just gonna have to put in the hours and hit the books.
Hey I just enlisted and my rate is ABH these videos are awesome keep them coming
Mason Lloyd hey Whatsup I just got the rate abh too when do you ship to boot
Slick Rick I ship august 8th
how’s ABH advancement?
We always called the purple shirts grapes because they would grab onto each other like you said.
I love it that crash and salvage is left out. We all wish we were our own rating so we can actually be more in line with all the other branches.
Good vid bro. try interviewing someone in AECF!
Thank you for this video. I now can understand what my son my sailor exactly does on his carrier. Lincoln nation💙⚓️🇺🇸 to all deployed
best of luck to u and ur family
I was on the Sara in the clip where they're parking the F-14. I was with the helo squadron HS-3 Tridents. Always had respect for the yellow shirts, especially if we were launching and recovering at the same time. The coordination was really unbelievable to see. We had to be our own LSE's and yellow shirts would LSE the other helos. That was the most rewarding experience I had on the flight deck.
Shit...now u got me hyped for ABE
As an ABH I learned quickly to respect all the jobs that people did but all the same I wouldn't wish being an ABE on my worst enemy. Yikes!
I was an ABE from 2002 to 2006. I receive 100% service connected dissability. Everyone I know from my ship has a bad back, knees, hips, arthritis... I am 38 and have the spine of a 55 year old.
YES! Aviation squad!
I ship March 20th and I'm undes Airman. Looking to strike AM.
D Salter ooooo, I was in the same position I had to wait a year to get gm while in dep. I leave with gunners mate on feb 8.
Jeremy T so if you have 3 job choices you like as an Undesignated in dep. You can leave for bootcamp with one.
Dsalter undes just means you ship quicker and not wait for your job or something that u want if they dont have it and basically an open contract right?
Yo JT this is like number 500 from the future.
needs more papa !
Redeemed ur self with that intro 😂😂
Hey man I leave for basic in April for ACF im happy to begin with my service to this great nation
I just officially signed today and I ship out April 18 as an ABH 🙌🏾
Arthur King hows being a abh? I head to bootcamp in March.
Sailor Mommy I signed up ABH and I ship out Feb 26!
I ship in january
@@audriecawley5029 how’s everything now?
ABF is more than that. There is the below Decks side of fuels. They are the ones who received, and operate all the equipment involved. There is purifiers, filters, pumps, cosole operators. They work down below the decks of ship. You probably did not notice them.
This guy didn't do the ABF's any justice.I was an ABF on USS Saratoga. Worked the flight deck and was also qualified to operate all of the operations below decks and fuel replenishment. This guy doing the video doesn't know jack. He really didn't do the ABF's any favors.. Grapes rule.
I leave febuary 15th ! I'm excited!(:
Who else ?
I caught that little Alien Ant Farm bit you put it in. I see you
I DESPERATELY want to learn more about RPs!
I wish I had seen this before I signed my contract. But the hell went it let’s go ABH!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha hey yellow shirt u got this !!!
Just sworn in last week I leave on Halloween for abe!
Yo JT im in the process of joining and your videos are giving me so much intell man thanks a lot. I would love to be a pilot in the navy but i heard it takes at least 6 years but id like to know your take on it wether its impossiple or not
I want to be an ABE that sounds so fun
Hey bro I liked your prospective on flight deck jobs I'm a 10year vet my final command was a ABH I absolutely loved it "Controlled Chaos" i also have to agree on gear dogs jobs you know in 20 years of that their Knees are gonna be Shot the job I had before I was an ABH was when I did AO you should do a video on that ordinance was pretty gruelling sometimes ... Thank you for your service brother
28 K FAM! WHOOO! IT JEN NEXT! :)
Itachi itachi itachi !!!!
Congrats on 28098k "homie"
ABE - cats 3 & 4 for life
You should do a thing where your subs play Xbox with you. Good idea eh?
yesssss!
great vid j! are you going to talk bout AO?
yup yup !
JTsuits Ye BOI!
we have a ABH1 here in charge of TPU (awaiting orders and security clearance ) he's a really cool guy. I don't know much about him, I could find out more though...
Great vid JT, I was wondering if there are Aerial gunners in the Navy like there are in the other branches. If so would you know if that is a job I could enlist with? Thanks man!
ya ill be talking about it soon !
Dude I'd love to work on aviation in the Navy but I don't think I'd survive living out at sea for so many months with so many people in small living spaces.
ya its def. not for everyone
I just subscribed! I’m going to meps this week. I want to be an AB but just in case all are available just have a questions. Which one deploys the most (ABH, ABF, ABE) or least likely. Thanks man
All the same
5:14 I was watching that clip thinking "i hope he doesn't push that F-14 into the sea."
Those tattoos are so fucking rad bro
signed an ABE contract, ship out in July! wish me luck
Stryker Prichard I ship in July also as an ABH
Feel sorry for uou
good luck! I'm curious about this, when can you sign an ABE contract? Like, when you walk into the recruiters office or after boot camp and A school? And, how is it going so far?
Yeah I’m thinking about abe. Is it worth it?
I was an ABE and it’s the worst job in the Navy. You are going to work your ass off when out to sea. When flight OPS ends at 0300 then you have to do maintenance and then get ready for flight ops at 0600. I have spent many days not sleeping, eating or taking a shower. Pick your rate choose your fate. I suggest getting into INTEL or IT jobs. Learn a skill where you can get a job when you get out of the military.
going to see a recruiter this week! any chance you could talk about firefighting???? thanks!
only 2 rates in the navy bro AB's AND WANABEES
Fuck ya
Yes sir!
hey, jt. I got a really good grade on my asvab which awesome, but now my recruiter is pushing for the nuke route. I'm not sure how I feel about that nuke life though. especially that sea to shore chart. what are your thoughts on the nuke life?
It would be freaking awesome of you if you made a video talking about Mass Communications Specialist. It would give me a raging hard on, well not quite but I would greatly appreciate it my man!!
I wanna be an ABH but if I can learn more skills along with the skills of ABH like you did, I'd rather get more knowledge and experience.
I enlisted a couple weeks back. I ship out June 16th and my rate is ABE. Wish me luck y’all
Keep ur head on a swivel 💪💪
How do you like being an ABE?
Need to do the Seabees
Thanks for the video !! Anybody else ship out April 17th ??
yooooo thats my B-day !
JTsuits welp sending happy birthday tears from bootcamp lmao
I just enlisted as an ABE. super excited
Man of the hour the worst decision in your life.V2 is a fuckn disaster. I'm a ABE I know what's going on bro .
Why
Is it so bad
Man of the hour yes bro. V-2 is very confuse and disorganized. It's not the work it's the people of v-2 you'll see exactly what I mean
Whats v2
I’m an Undesignated Airman and I’ll be reporting to The USS Nimitz working with ABE’s. Thanks for the insight JT!
Did you strike abe?
@@thisismerica6206 nah did 2 yrs struck AM
@@Hendricks777 nice nice. I just picked up abe3 last week
@@thisismerica6206 congrats I worked in the waist and then got moved to Maintenance Support. Was almost up to topside but those 18 hr days do you in. I work 12 on 12 off in the cool ac now lol
@@Hendricks777 I was in the bow then got moved to support
I hear a lot of stuff about being an ABE. Honestly, I don't know what to think anymore. Personally, being up to ABE's standards is going to be a major challenge. I leave for basic July 22nd and goin to Pcola right after. This is all makin me nervous.
Well Goodluck homie🤣
If you look a little bit down the comments you'll see my comment from 3 years ago🤣🤣🤣
@@thisismerica6206 How's your experience been so far? Is it really as bad as people say?
@@michaelkienzle9961 I mean it sucks but it's fun as shit. Shitty coworkers made it harder than it has to be but it's not. But once you start those long ass hours and always being dirty and missing chow and staying up all night. You get used to it very fast cause your brothers are going through it with you
I'll be honest, while trying to put this is the least terrifying way possible. See if you can get reclassed to a different rate, even if you want to stay in aviation. I say this because ABE is the only rate that will force you to be on nothing more than carriers. Even as ABH or ABF, you can still do amphibious ships and LPDs. ABE is a fun job, but the benefits do not outweigh the cons. Ask about other jobs bro, seriously
You forgot ground the jet and don’t forget about below deck fueles
what can you bring on deployments?
i was an abf3 below decker and below decks was much harder then flight deckers a whole lot more mechanics and quals to get but i enjoyed my time but now im glad to be a civillian but it definately was worth the hustle
Hello josh what are jobs u will get if ur out in the navy as abf
@@philipnunag986 another of people who are abfs when they get out tend to work for places like a water treatment facility or for a company brewing beer or fueling aircraft at the airport, pretty much anything that uses the same type of equipment we used in our job in the navy
What up JT, I did not know you were a fan of Alien Ant Farm!?!
eddienom love me some AAF
If you don't mind my asking, was this your first choice and what was your ASVAB score? I ask because I saw something that made me sick- the Navy website is offering an enlisting bonus to anyone who has a HS diploma. Have the standards gone down that low since I was on the flight deck?
I wish I could join the navy and it wasn't too late bud. Hope all is well
Don’t need 30 knots for take off, can still launch with -5 knots of wind lol
What's the difference between going in as a CO vs going into the Navy as enlisted? For a college graduate with no ROTC, would I have the option to choose enlisted?
should do a video on medical reasons that won’t allow u into navy or other reasons tht disqualify you in 2021 i’ll watch
Gotta do the CT field. 4 more months till I ship off to RTC
jared mitchell nice! what type of CT are you? I leave in August, I'm DEPing in as CTT myself
spartanb112398 M field for me
My dad is telling me to go in and stay in and retire at 40. idk if I could do that
I wanna be an aviation mechanic, should i study mechanic in college ? Or the navy teaches it?
#askJT do you have any knowledge on what a CTT/AEF would do on a day to day basis and how military life is for them?
I leave on Tuesday for ABF!
Alex Christopher ABF advancement rate us the worst out of all AB jobs
hey JT can you talk about the damage controlman rating pleeaassseeee
Can you do a Navy Jobs video for Operations specialist Aerographers Mate and Intelligence specialist/Analyst?
Do one on air crewman
Please review ET please!!!
HOOYAH NAVY BALLCAP
Well that was good to know for ABF's, hopefully it wont be that bad holding someone like a dog for a while. lmao
Airdales are cool, but snipes rule! (Old MM vet)
July 29th is when I ship out to Bootcamp and I will be an ABE
I ship out on the 28th of July I will be ABF
