No car will run best 0-60 mph going from idle speed (other than the high altitude). Plus there is no 1 foot roll out here, which shaves 2/10ths off the time. In order to get it to 4.2 to 4.3 0-60 mph, being an RCF owner, the launch method is to put it in sport+, traction control completely off (hold the traction control button down for a few seconds) and brake torque to 1900 rpm (no full throttle otherwise, the power will overcome brakes). Release brake and floor the gas.
He cannot drive. Launch control would do the trick. No idea what he is doing.

@Motorsports 3 That's besides the point. While I appreciate the idle-to-full throttle acceleration times, which we all understand mimicks real life situations better. But if you're going to place that disclaimer here, then you gotta do it for ALL cars. When you have the Germans and other cars quoting you their brake boosted or LC 0 to 60 times, you can't be the only one not doing that in the name of "real life" situation. Because at the end of the day nobody will care how noble your attempts were. You will just have the slowest times and that's what people will focus on.
They (Lexus) forgot to shave off 200 kg (440pound) Too bad, cus this bad boy is fully capable to compete with the M3/4, C63s and Alfa Romeo Q.....
Kind of surprised by the lack of trolls here. Competitor fanboys that only buy vechicles based on 0 to 60 times and 1/4 times would love to see this so they can feel smart for a change. In their world a car that is faster and cheaper is a better car.

I'm thinking you didn't launch properly. You should power brake to 3500 rpm and release to get to 4.1-4.5 seconds

have to consider elevation above sea level and stuff. NA engines suffer more from higher above sea level

That's realistically what you will get in the real world and not ideal quarter mile tracks.

The difference in modes doesn’t really affect the launch of the car, more like the down shifting behaviour and length of each gear.
What about “expert mode” ?
Apparently Lexus only mentions it to the owner during time of sale. Sets the car into a “drifting mode”

funny how you think US$81k is expensive. in Singapore,that amount will only get you the base Mazda 6. as for this beast..a cool US$250k. the LC500 is selling at US$450k. and the cheapest Lexus,which is the base UX , not out yet but we're looking at roughly around US$110k. appreciate you're not living in Singapore.wonderful video..as always.cheers!

Its not particularly fast for this type of car. The new m340d goes well under 4 secs to 60.
Definitely faster than mustang gt.
