Much appreciated your video, the no frills is great, I just need content, delivered slow enough till my mind can process the objective and how it was achieved, I learned a lot more that I didn't know I needed than I expected.

Just solved: Unchecked "Allow NULL" in Properties/Attribute diaglog box.

Hi, thank you! great job. What about basic shapes, like rectangles, squares, circles? CADDigitalize Plugin is not available yet. A 'built-in' solution would be good I think.

Georgy Nass Video is using 3.0.2. on Budgie 18.04. It won't fully install easily on 16.04 based distros. You will need at least 17.10. Then just follow qgis.org install instructions.

If you use a coordinate system that have the unit feet, your measurements will be in feet.

Sure! As long as the CAD layer is in a format QGIS can read. Snapping will "lock" your edits to corner points if you want them to. You can also "copy" a line (or any shape) from the CAD layer and just "paste" it in to a new vector layer.

My advance editing tool bar bottom does not activate after I click Commute Editing, how can I activate it?
Make sure the layer you are editing is in a projected coordinate system. It does not work on un-projected layers like WGS-84.
1-Where finding a region map in shp to insert in QGIS?
2-How to put some points on the map with X, Y data of locating of these points and put legends?
1. For large regions you could try www.naturalearthdata.com/
2. As long as your edit layer is in a projected coordinate system you can add points at fixed X, Y coordinates in that system, by using the Advanced Digitizing Panel "x" and "y" fields, as shown at the end of the video. If you have a file with a list of X/Y coordinates you can use the Add delimited text option in QGIS. But that is not covered in this video. Styling and legends is also not covered here, but I have other videos that do address styling and layout in QGIS.

I am using QGIS 3.0. How can I simply split parts tool in QGIS? I want to simply draw a land use zoning through the polygon you want to split part in the existing data. But it doesn't work. why the tool does not work properly?
As I mentioned in the video, QGIS sometimes gets confused with the split features tool. By starting and ending the split line outside the polygon I've noticed it usually work fine. Sometimes it's more difficult than other to get the split to work, but try to draw the line in different ways. I've yet to come across a split that I couldn't get to work.
Qgis 3 is still in the making the LTS version 2.18 for windows is stable and all the tool work just fine
1- I would like to ask you whether it is possible using QGIS to add available information in a position on the map like temperature. this information is to be represented by circle that its diameter is related to the value of temperature for example.
In other words: I would like to indicate on the the amount of corals, sand, seagrass along the coast line, represented by circles.
2- how can I - using QGIS or other free software - merge multiple KML files into one shape file.
1. The short answer is Yes, this is possible. However to fully explain how in a comment here is not really practical.
2. There's at least a couple of tools in QGIS that can "merge" vectorlayers of the same geometry type. The result can be saved in any vector format.

Hi, I don't know much about tax parcels, but if you can be very specific in the questions I'm sure you can get help at gis.stackexchange.com/
You may even find an answer there already.
The more specific you can be the better. If the issue is very complex I'd recommend a local GIS consultant you could talk directly with.

Select both and click "Merge Selected Features" from the Advanced Digitizing Toolbar.

Klas you have good knowledge of many things but also really bad knowledge of video editing. We appreciate that you are giving up on your time to make us meet with this good content but also think of the time we spend on the parts with mistakes in your videos. Guiding us with texts on the videos may sound cute to you but it just is not. It's just loss of time to watch those parts. We are professionals that are working in these area (I'm a geomatics engineer myself) and we have no time to watch mistakes. We just need info. Just cut those parts and come with a clean, tidied up contents please.

You may be a professional whose time is "valuable". I make my videos on my free time on weekends! If you want "professionally" edited videos I suggest you look for a paid service!
