    Barenboim is a wonderful and great pianist. His performances of Beethoven are remembered for a long time. He plays his not easy sonatas as if they were the easiest pieces in the world. Its godlike!

      Lol. He does that quite a bit in these performances. It often works really well but for me not so much in this first movement. I personally love the soaring sensation of those first few measures and you can only get that if you play it allegro.
      I feel bad criticizing since I can't even play this, but hey, that's what the Internet is for.
      All that said, I'm still in awe of this guy and his performances.

      @@mrdrgriffin8790 in the mean time each part is clear and extremely expressive which is impossible to do at very high speed. He is playing an allegro speed here. Just not an allegro flirting with presto.
      This is not a very "difficult" Beethoven sonata and the problem is that a lot of pianist playing all Beethoven's sonata tends to play the "easy" one at tremendous speed like they are not as important as the major big ones.

    • @mrdrgriffin8790
      @mrdrgriffin8790 2 года назад

      @@etiennedelaunois1737 understood. It IS clear and incredibly expressive. And I know he's capable of playing it faster.
      Ive listened to most his performances from this cycle and I get the sense that he is really savoring each performance. maybe he thinks it will be his last one? I don't know, but he really squeezes every ounce of expression out of these sonatas. Most of the time I enjoy it quite a bit, just not for the first movement of this sonata.
      I 100% agree with you that Beethoven sonatas are often played too fast. I know the performers are amazing but not all of the soantas were meant to be played presto. Or at least to my ears they don't all sound good that way.

    Desde luego sin ser una sonata conocida y más bien mini con 3 tiempos por decirlo así, su estructura es elemental y no es en absoluto tan compleja como una Waldstein, Apassionatta o Patética su belleza es intensa y rradiante al reflejar como no la mayor fuente de inspiración beethoveniana:"LA NATURALEZA"
