great job! I went with the Alpine R-S65 component speakers, xa-70Famp and the PWE-S8_wra (both under passenger seat) and the sound is great. The installation looked identical, although you make it look a little easier. Thanks again.
id love to see how you attached the amp to the mid/high speakers. i wanna replace my OEM amp with something aftermarket. I already have aftermarket headunit and speakers
Great video! Answered a lot of my questions except for one. Wondering about the facia around the I-209. How does the tray on top compare to the OEM? I currently have a bulletpoint mount system installed. Would I be able to continue to use it?
jaxon Roberts the hard top is still removable the customer would just need a couple of 13mm wrenches. Also they are taking the chance that a majority of jeep owners prob won't ever remove their roof.
I understand you can still remove it with just a few more steps. It just seems that they could've engineered a better way to mount it there without adding another step to removing the top. Thanks for the video I haven't seen another video on how these boxes are installed.
@@jaxonroberts9672 I agree. I remove my hardtop for "Jeep" season, which is May-Sep here in NW AR. This may be kind of deal breaker for me if i was looking to upgrade to the Alpine.
Camia did you connect the black 16 pin obd2 connector under the dash? If so what about the 2 pin black connector that goes into the harness behind the radio?
What did you use to retain the steering wheel controls and to be able to synchronize the gauges, tire pressure, open doors, and the check engine light to read on the i209 head unit?
Francis I’m not sure. If you have the factory usb adaptor to standard usb you can connect it down at the Uconnect module that is behind your hvac controls.
Johnny Bouldin I do have the one at the center console, planing to install the entire unit tomorrow, do you think that one works? Haven’t tried, will see...
Johnny Bouldin ok! I heard, to prevent the noise best location is on the right side by the steering wheel? What do you think ? Thanks for the quick reply !
Francis on the a pillar there is a break between the two panels you can take the plastic Phillips head screw and clip out and pull out on the top overlapping panel and slide the microphone clip in until it falls down into the half moon cutout for the lower panel.

The tray is very different. It is shallow and doesn’t have the bolt going through the top. I doubt the mount you have will fit.
What happened to the Full install? Missing a lot of video here....
Great video Johnny B. Steele Shop is the shop for all your custom sound & radar needs.
Love this video!!!! One of the few with FULL audio upgrade install info. Can you post a link or list of product model info, of all equipment used?
Why in the world did JL mount the stealthbox in such a way that you can't take the hardtop off?

Have you ever had an issue with it randomly shutting off?
It could be a few things. The ignition switch can be acting up or the Maestro interface could be acting up. The only fix is replacing parts.
I have this very same unit unit on my JKU but the gauges don’t work and I get an OBD2 wire message

Bought the Jeep with radio installed and noticed it was not working, thanks for replying.
I'd to see how to install the radio. Thats what I need.

An iDatalink Maestro RR

Hi, where exactly you hide the usb cable to connect the iPhone? Thanks again.

Hi thanks for the vid! Could you tell me where is the microphone?
Francis The microphone is mounted half way up the a pillar. Where to two panels meet
Johnny Bouldin ok! I heard, to prevent the noise best location is on the right side by the steering wheel? What do you think ? Thanks for the quick reply !
Francis from my years of working on Jeeps I’ve had the best success from blocking wind noise and best clarity in my suggested location.
Johnny Bouldin I believe you! Can you please tell me the exact location? I want to do it the best way to prevent the windy noise etc. Thank again!!!
