Do these adjustments affect the tuning for distortion? I’ve had my system tuned for distortion with a SMD for distortion and I’m always playing around with the frequencies for my EQ but I’ve always wondered if raising the base on my eq will change the distortion level to a different number that was set by the SMD
Ive been told yes and on my headunit (boss audio dont know about other brands) and when i turn the bass to the max or close to max it distorts and when i turn the bass around -2 out of +7 (which is max bass) it does not distort by ear i cant tell that it does by ear so im assuming YES!
You have a vast knowledge of audio in general and that is why I subscribed. So much more can be done though to achieve perfect sound quality. Hit me up if interested.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a full tune with a DSP. I just installed a DM810 in my Grand Cherokee and could use all the help in tuning correctly...... Cheers!!!
I use them because I used them for years long before I started the channel. With the amount of time I put into custom builds I wouldn't waste my time with gear that isn't top notch. AudioControl is solid reputable gear. There's a reason they've been around 40+ years! 👍🙌
there are 2 kinds of Pink Noise files on the internet, i.e. MONO (correlated) and STEREO (uncorellated), which one is better for tuning the EQ? I notice that you use the "mono pink noise". Thanks!
So if i cut to eleminate distortion , isnt i gonna increase the volume because of that and end up at the same level with the same distortion ? Like whats the point ? Or is it actually less fetieaging for speakers to cut rather than boost even if i increased the volume to compensate ?
Hi!! How do I know the frequency range of the equalizer and the Q value, for the Mercedes Benz W177? I am talking about the audio settings of the W177, controlled through the MBUX software at the music settings. Example: I adjusted the equalizer for Bass: +2. I need now to adjust these settings on my Digital Audio Workstation software, that's CUBASE. How do I know what are the settings to do so? Bass: +2. Does plus two means plus two decibels? If not, how many decibels are plus two? What is the Q of this Bass EQ, from which frequency to which frequency is the Bass zone? Mid: +1. Does plus one means plus one decibels? If not, how many decibels is plus one? What is the Q of this Mid EQ, from which frequency to which frequency is the Mid zone? Treble: +2. Does plus two means plus two decibels? If not, how many decibels are plus two? What is the Q of this Treble EQ, from which frequency to which frequency is the Treble zone?

I'm not an apple fan at all, but at least their connector has been very consistent over several models. Not the case with constant USB changes on Android, I think the last four Android Phones I have bought have each had a different connection. They have a similar USB version that you can use with a PC based app here: www.audiocontrol.com/studio-six-digital/
@@CarAudioFabrication all of the USB types can be adapted between one another. I refuse to support a company like Apple and despise their OS as well. Besides, there have only been 2 different USB types in the last 5 or so years. Micro and type C
The Audio Control mic looks great, but there's no Android compatibility. I'm definitely not buying an Apple device as well as the mic just so I can properly EQ my system, as having to buy a device as well as the mic isn't very budget friendly. Are there any Android compatible mics you could reccomend?
Hey mark love your channel. I'm just getting into car audio systems, but I'm working on a budget of about 400-600$ what equipment would you recommend and what brands? Also I'm using a factory head unit. I really would appreciate a in depth personal run down. Thanks man.
What is the difference between DSP Audio Control and their EQ? Decades ago I had a high end system no DSP but Audio Control Dual 31 band 1/3 Octave EQ. It sounded incredible. When I had my custom build from factory Mercedes SUV you can order their Bang & Olufsen package. It sounds pretty good but not like after market. They won't let you do anything to the system as it would void the warranty for the whole vehicle. When the vehicle is very, very expensive then voiding the warranty is not an option. So I might buy a used car just for the purpose of a sound system to play around with. You can get nice used cars sometimes under 20k.
I recently upgraded the headunit and finding it lacking in comparison to the stock stereo, it sounds technically clearer but the bass isnt punchy like it was and highs are tinny.....I wonder if because I have stock tweeters the stock unit accounted for this but aftermarket hasnt
Hey CAF, I would love to see a video detailing L/R frequency balancing with the Audio Control gear. I have a DM-810 running 3-way active for the front stage and I am missing something with certain frequencies on the driver side.
Yes it does. Tune your system to your liking then tune for distortion
You have a vast knowledge of audio in general and that is why I subscribed. So much more can be done though to achieve perfect sound quality. Hit me up if interested.
I would love to see how you would tune a full 4 channel and subwoofer system with the DM810!
I want to add a DSP unit in my shit box Kia Rio. I had DSP built into my last car and the sound was amazing with a 10 speaker Bose system.
Would love to see an in depth video on the DSP
Please show a DSP instructional. 👍👍👍
Id love a dsp tuning tutorial
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a full tune with a DSP. I just installed a DM810 in my Grand Cherokee and could use all the help in tuning correctly...... Cheers!!!
+1 for in depth DSP tuning. I bought the JL Audi VX series (same to the Supra collab you did) and looking to maximise it’s potential for tuning.
I've ran mid speakers and tweeters from the front and rear channels before so I could time align them separately on a head unit.
He uses AudioControl brand equipment a lot. Are they really that great or are they just budget friendly?
I use them because I used them for years long before I started the channel. With the amount of time I put into custom builds I wouldn't waste my time with gear that isn't top notch. AudioControl is solid reputable gear. There's a reason they've been around 40+ years! 👍🙌
When setting the gain on my amplifier for my sub, should I be leaving my Eq flat or adjusting the Eq before setting my gain?
Your a awesome Instructor.
there are 2 kinds of Pink Noise files on the internet, i.e.
How do you manage the cars battery while tuning? Can you connect it to a battery charger while you do it
Ive been having trouble with this exact situation thank you so much!
Still using the Stinger head unit? Looking to upgrade my Tundra.
Would like to hear your views on an active underseat subwoofer.
YES been waiting for you to release this
Tuning is everything!!!👌❤️
He hasn't even started his door pods!! 😂 What a casual. Gimme a noise fido!! 😁
Yes please to DSP! Please and thank you
Whats the difference between a built in equalizer and the old school seprate ones
Dear bro!!!! Wow!!! What are the possibilities your available for service call on my jeep. I can be within 150 miles of 07059 give or take where you are located. Or do you know anywhere I can schedule this level of work to tune my Jeep. Alpine restyle, two subs, ds19 sound bar. !!! You are the yoda of car audio!
No Android support for the Audiocontrol mic and app? Missed out on my money.
However will they recover lol
I'm not an apple fan at all, but at least their connector has been very consistent over several models. Not the case with constant USB changes on Android, I think the last four Android Phones I have bought have each had a different connection. They have a similar USB version that you can use with a PC based app here: www.audiocontrol.com/studio-six-digital/
@@CarAudioFabrication all of the USB types can be adapted between one another. I refuse to support a company like Apple and despise their OS as well. Besides, there have only been 2 different USB types in the last 5 or so years. Micro and type C
Love all your installations. Thank you 👍
Great video, thanks for all the hard work
Give us a detailed tuning video for the DM-810 please!
The Audio Control mic looks great, but there's no Android compatibility. I'm definitely not buying an Apple device as well as the mic just so I can properly EQ my system, as having to buy a device as well as the mic isn't very budget friendly. Are there any Android compatible mics you could reccomend?

Any videos of carplay multimedia headunit?
Hey mark love your channel. I'm just getting into car audio systems, but I'm working on a budget of about 400-600$ what equipment would you recommend and what brands? Also I'm using a factory head unit. I really would appreciate a in depth personal run down. Thanks man.
I'd love to help with this! You can go here www.caraudiofabrication.com/consultations
if you have a DSP what do you set the head unit's eq levels?
Are there any head units that can control EQ for left and right channels independently?
Gr8 tutorial Mark
Thank you! Good to see you, thanks for dropping a line!
@@CarAudioFabrication i always enjoy watching your content... It's been a gr8 help to me
Which graph plot are you using?
Hey CAF, I would love to see a video detailing L/R frequency balancing with the Audio Control gear. I have a DM-810 running 3-way active for the front stage and I am missing something with certain frequencies on the driver side. I think it is related to on/off axis response of the speakers in the door. I am at the point where I think I need to buy the microphone to refine further.
