Hello there from Iowa , last year I got a couple gallons with seven hives wasn’t good & this year I ha10 hives and I’ve got seven buckets of honey did extras Splits , total of 14 hives for the fall excited for the next year
Nice video, I just had one of my large hives do this same thing last night. Mine was pretty difficult to get because there were down in the grass and I couldn’t find the queen. I did place most of them in a deep and they started marching in.
The nights are already cooling off here. It was 57F the other night. I was hoping for a swarm this year but no luck. I did not want to try a split in July.
I was talking to a local beekeeper last week about the corflute nuc boxes. He was saying he thought they were great for sales. He can use them (spring hive sales) and still charge the same price as a wooden nuc, gaining about 90% more profits on each sale.
I do not know about your statement if you would have 90% more profit because of those EZ boxes especially if you only buy a few boxes. Last time I checked one of those are close to $30 shipped and I would still have to buy frames and foundation. I can buy a nuc with frames and foundation for $55 locally. If you buy those EZ nucs by the pallet, then they are getting cheap per piece, but for a sideliner bee keeper those boxes are still expensive. I can buy only a wooden nuc box and put a plywood bottom and top on it for around $15 which would be cheaper than those EZ nuc boxes.
J & B Homeliving awesome. Yeah they are pretty big commercial. Maybe when they buy the wood nucs or pay a few workers to build, costs probably rise. I don’t know because I never asked them that question. But thanks for your reply 🍺🍺
I've had them form up around hummingbird feeders. I could have 5 or six boxes started by now over 4 years of humingbirds. I got stung today fir the first time on the arm. He didnt get his sack pumped in before i removed the stinger. 4 years ago, at the end of fall, i fed them 25lbs of sugar to acquaint myself with them. I never got stung once and i had pounds of them on me. They cosumed and took back 35lbs of sugar water solution on the top of a glass table top on 6 days
SHE didn't get HER sack pumped in Only female bees have stingers. And gather pollen, nectar, make wax, build comb, make honey. Male bees only freeload and mate with the queen.
Hi i am from Jefferson City TN. I had a swarm 2 weeks ago. got the swarm in a new box checked on them a week later new Queens in both hives old & new. new to bee keeping me & my son Aidan. is there anything i can try to do save them through the winter. Thanks for all you do
Hi. Thank you for all the awesome videos. Helped me a lot to get my bees of the "gound" 😁. When going in to winter, in a 10 frame brood box, how many frames of brood versus food/honey will be good for the bees? We have about 3 months of cold weather. Min temp will be around 10 degrees up to 22 degrees max. Lots of wind. 15 days of rain in total. Non of the other bee keepers feed there bees. I do give pollen patties and sugar water to my small swarms (6 frames and 4 frames).
Do you ever have dreams about the bees? After a long day of work the last thing I want is those buzzers invading my mind space in the midnight hours haha.
I’d encourage people to capture any of these late swarms just for the sake of “insurance queens” that they or some other nearby soul may find valuable when, going into fall, an existing queen comes up missing and there’s no replacement to be found.
Been watching Bee videos for a bit now but I am confused about something, virgin bees leave and come back mated. Where does she go and whom does she mate with??
Hey Rhonda the virgin queen leaves the hive and flies over a couple miles into areas that have drones called drone congregation areas. Over a few days she then will mate between 10-30 times with multiple drones to insure proper genetic diversity is in the hive. Once she is done she will never mate again and will begin to start laying fertile eggs a few days later
@@kamonreynolds Rhonda, drones do not mate more than once. A conjugal visit to a queen by a drone is a death sentence. The intensity of the eversion of the spermatal nodule kills the drone.

Sorry Tim I can't choose the adds and all the political adds drive me nuts also. RUclips recently became more aggressive on placing more adds in everyones video. Great job!! Keep the pollinators growing!!
"It's pheromones and stuff" Said every beekeeper showing their family and friends bee things.
Excellent video, thank you 👏👏👏. Waiting for the next update

Those bees marched right in as if they were praying for a box to land right in front of them lol....
I appreciate the great information you put out. Thanks for the videos.
Great easy catch!! Bet that doesn't happen very often. Great video!
I had one of my colony's swarm yesterday in central Wisconsin at least I was home to see it happen and got em back
I'm in central Mississippi and a bee keeper near me is still catching swarms. I'm near Grenada MS
We Caught 4 swarms last week from the same tree, 2 had queens and 2 did not. Went ahead and combined them with some week hives.
I enjoyed this video and appreciate it Kaymon!
I put out 2 swarm traps yesterday here in SW VA. Hoping to get something going before Next spring.
Fall SWARM.... WOW 😮 Can I ask how many hives you have total?
300. Too many.
Oh gosh my fall swarms fill a 8 frame deep, one of the reasons why I started making my own queens
Keep us updated on the "driveway swarm"

Give them plenty of feed and a comb or 2 if you have some to spare. If they have a good laying queen there is a god chance they will make it

How have they done so far?

Could you remove the queen and add the bees to a weaker hive?
