Very useful! I'm keen on using controllers like your generation, so this is good for 'showing the ropes' without risking confusion of misconfiguring the many buttons! I didn't even know the 2 mini sticks pushed in with a click! As a purist, I think controllers should mimick the intended console: some with letters, numbers and shapes. Wired vs wireless: doesn't matter that much, as long as there's no latency.
Definitely agree with you there! I like to try to keep to controllers that are at least lined up with the original console that the game was released on when possible. I love the 8bitdo sf30 pro gamepad for example because it is set up just like a SNES controller but also has the analog sticks on it so I can use those as well as the d pad in game if I want.
Nice. I just ordered a PAWKY PAD the other night. I take batocera over coinops because it uses Retroarch for the Older consoles which means latency control. That trumps everything. I keep my arcade games stand alone mame tho. Great video.

I can also scrape games and get artwork but that's all, can you do a video that helps me, I have watched several videos and they seem complicated, I like your videos because they are easy to follow and figure out how to get them to work.

Button * A * took me back to the main games screen. I think button * X * too me to in game opt menu but no other buttons started the game. I'm thinking this will be an issue for a lot of games per each of the cores (via EmuStation). I have a diagram comparing the different controllers to map to an xbox one or PS4 controller but I don't know how I would map each controller up, per system and have the inputs saved for each of them. much thanks for your help 👍
@@nigelthompson5325 really weird. You mapped it prior right? I have a Xbox one controller which is what I use almost exclusively and I haven't had that issue. It's a power a though not an official Microsoft controller. That may be the issue. I have heard some controllers made for specific systems can be incompatible with some emulation platforms. That's why I like the power a products because you can use them with any platform.

I've had mine mapped for the last couple days but notice some buttons or inputs aren't working in certain games. So far for my ultimate mortal Kombat 3, no uppercuts. And the start button (or any button from what I can tell) works in king of monsters. Still new to this so I'm unsure what could be causing the issue exactly 🤷
I've only actually just gone off the standard mapping. I haven't run into any issues though with controllers. You may be able to go into retroarch and remap though depending on which emulator you are using. Haven't done that myself though. I've just found that everything works nicely as it is for the games I play.
Is it a bluetooth keyboard or usb keyboard? If bluetooth you can go to forget a controller in the controller settings. For wired I'm not sure if there's a option to remove that. You could just unplug it before going into games and it's not going to interfere with anything.
It’s hell fucking batosera remapes the controll to buttons in a strange order :( and if u click configure a controller it will list maby a random controller like controller 5 when I only have one ☝️ controller am fustrated

same problem man, try to crypt the iso with its corresponding ird and then when you extract the crypted iso make the folder extension to .ps3
