Just got an original NES and was confused. I remember a plug in the back by the power cable and a box you screwed a cable onto that screwed into the back of the TV. Can't believe I forgot about the side plug-ins. Thanks! BTW, Ninja Gaiden is one of the games I bought with my NES. and now I'll be playing soon.
Edit: I see you showed the version I remember. The nostalgia!
Lmao, I was confused too when I got mine. Glad to help!
I realized I had an RF port on the side of my TV, so that made me excited because I could possibly get an NES and play it on my modern TV.
ty for making this video, months back my brother got the NES and SNES he had as a kid out of the attic and i was wondering how to set it up (i was way too young to have grown up with it myself, since i was born in 2007)
Wow L for you
@@TruthSetsUsFree305 how's your wife? divorced yet?
@@mistOmeter nope! You?
Just to note some TVs are not capable of detecting mono audio whether the one audio cable is plugged into the left or right Channel. On some TVs you may need a y splitter to get sound out of both speakers. In my experience TVs that have that capability typically had L/mono written on the white input.
1:42 Rly creepy but thats the crt tv I recently got, exact model lmao
EDIT: The interface and ports look different so it must be different dates ours were made but still super cool to see the same crt being enjoyed by a fellow retro gamer
Rly creepy but i have the exact same tv as him (flatscreen one)
Thank you! This vid helped me a lot
How TF do u Connect RF on the TV. I keep trying and it doesn't work...
Thank you I’m going to buy a original nes tomorrow
so am 10 and am recovering my moms old super nintendo AND i i only have a cable whith the red end and white end sadly :(
Wow that cool and about that adapter I actually have the exact same thing for my Sega genesis
thanks for the help this is a best how to video out. oh BTW i just subbed
Of course! And thanks man! Much appreciated!
I did everything in ur video but my tv just has a blue screen n says no signal. Do i have to change the input on my tv?
Pac-Man was the first game to use cutscenes
Correct, but it wasn’t the first to use cinematic cutscenes
The Nes R switch. Do I need that to play my Nes or can I play my Nes with out that adapter. Coz I only have the aerial wire for it
Hey your rca crt tv’s geometry looks pretty good. Did you calibrate that with the test suite grid and service menu?
I don’t even know how to calibrate the geometry on the TV. Didn’t even know you could! I guess I just got with that
Well that’s good that you can play it on HD Tv that’s cool
Are you a fan of RF switch?
Aw dang, I saw the title saying Any TV so I had high hopes.. but sadly this only shows plugging RCA into a flat screen that already has RCA.. All my new flat screens only have HDMI and nothing else. No RCA, No Component, No RF.. stupid samsung
I’m very sorry. But! There is a solution. You can buy and RCA HDMi converter that will go I to your tv. They cost about $14
@@ThrowbackGames_ Yay Thanks!
What about the NES top loader?
1:12 WAIT so that means you can plug the two systems in at the same time by not buying two ac adapters 🤔
Yep! If you have a third party adapter like that one
@@ThrowbackGames_ oh wow but can we be friends on RUclips please 🤔🥺
@@Cover_McCartney Sure
@@ThrowbackGames_ yay
@@Cover_McCartneydid u gays ever become friends?
Will the A/V wires work on a flat screen?
Ive heard they don't buy I've also heard they do
They do! Just make sure they have the inputs for it
Set up on 2 TV
Can i use an rca to hdmi adapter with the nes?
You can!
@@ThrowbackGames_ well I happened to get a crt tv but I connect red to white and it still comes out one side
It Was Confusing, But Thank You!
Plugged everything in she I get just a yellow screen any suggestions??? TIA
A solid yellow screen could mean either the game needs to be cleaned or the cartridge slot. Clean the game with some IPA (higher percentage the faster it drys) and the cartridge slot with compressed air. Hope this helps!
does nes console have some kind of hum noise?
Is the Nintendo itself humming or is it the audio from the tv? If it’s the Nintendo, remove the AC adapter and get a new one. Yep f it’s the audio, it should only have a slight static noice, humming is an issue within your AB cables; get a new pair
@@ThrowbackGames_ the hum came from tv speakers ,not the power supply you can hear it on static screens that have no sound..when play game and have music you can barely hear it unless you have the tv loud.
@@katseazzz that’s normal then. You only hear it on screens with no audio
I hooked up my nes to my crt and nothing happened just static.I have audio and video cables connected as well as the ac adaptor but it's just not working.I don't have and rf switch though.Maybe that's the problem?I'm really confused do you have any advice?
Your AV cables might be the issue. May need a new pair; that is usually the case
@@ThrowbackGames_ Does the color of the av cables matter?
@@gonewiththemilk-1999 yes, each color has to go in its corresponding hole except if you want audio coming from both speakers playing. If you want both speakers to play, put the red cable in the whit female port, and the yellow in the yellow female port.
If you’re trying to use component cables (Green blue red) it won’t work. You need composite cables (red yellow white)
@@ThrowbackGames_ I have red and white cables attached but still nothing.
@@gonewiththemilk-1999 it has to be yellow and red. Yellow is your video cable, the one that displays the image
Mine is just blinking random colors
Same, did you manage to fix it?
@@BatRaptor3blow on cartridge or try to clean game, usually it’s a dirty game. If you don’t think it’s a game, try cleaning the pin connectors inside the nes.
@@Collin272 i didnt know you had to push the game down😭😭 luckily i accidentally did it before trying to sell it
@@BatRaptor3 oh 😭
Hi
Hi
Makings "shorts" or whatever they're called, will probably help get hits
Not a RUclips shorts guy. Feel like it’s a cheap way to get views, and usually no long term viewers. I might start making a few shorts, maybe two a month, but not constantly making some
The LED addon around your TV.. you're a freak dude. xD
I have a rf tv
WE NEED TO HELP GARRETT QUICK!!!
No
I don’t want anything to do with Garret
