- People buy toys for all sorts of reasons, but a couple of Australian investors hope their devotion to the collectible toys; Lego and Funko Pops, will set them up, financially for life. But just how much of a risk are they taking, and can it all fall out from underneath them?
Rod Addamo has been collecting Funko Pops for more than a decade, he claims that with more than 8000 Funko Pops he holds the Guinness World Record for the largest collection. He is also confident in saying his collection is worth half a million dollars.
Sean McConville has been a lifelong Lego fan he says he's invested around $400,000 into the collectible toy.

Something that is not covered here is that all the major toy companies don’t give two proverbials about collectors. Their objective is sales. They re-release sets, make endless variations and extend shelf life which can place downward pressure on prices. A small but important point given the topic.
Love to see the passion 👊
Close to world record but like 3000 short, world record currently is 11,664
What a massive Pop collection, dang! If you plan ahead, you could get some good investments out of Pops, while enjoying the sets that mean a lot to you
Nah bro that's a whole lot of sales for fk all people have no idea I think bros math is a bit fuzzy
Was dwelling in between 15 Funko pops that should I continue or not! That’s an inspiration. But I do know that not everyone will have these margin in terms of investment and patience. Specially if you have other responsibilities, investing and sitting on that will not accepted well.
Intriguing guaranteed!♂️✈️
Ouch. That funky collection didn’t age well.
Short answer is Yes, long answer is No.
