Well Richard, the algorithm threw you at me. Your title grabbed my attention. I looked at the time length and went yep, this guys got 12 mins to impress. And you did. Subscribed. Thankyou. I appreciate your effort.
Great video as always! So i got my buddies 044 back together with using the same air angle grinder for port work and i went by your video on how to port it. He is extremely happy but i don't think it was quite as fast as yours because i may have been a little conservative because its not the easiest to do with that grinder and didn't want to screw it up but wow major improvement for sure. He thinks its as fast or faster than his stock 046 mag. So Anyways i wanted to say i couldn't of done it without your video so thanks for that!! He's a faller so he's ready for Monday morning with a big smile!!
Man Richard, you're playing with fire again - you know your Cuz's copyright lawyers will be knocking on your door if you don't give him credit for his jokes... 😉😉
I've plastic welded a few of those tanks as needed for a price conscious customer- just heat up a screwdriver tip and work the leaky spot. Again not as good as OEM but if it's that or nothing- well.... good content Richard.
Only farmertec saw i own so far, a g660 "pro" had no fast idle even after several attempts trimming and fiddling. After nearly a year i finally put an oem stihl trigger and switch rod in and works great. At those oem prices, im all for using a little aftermarket! Starter "assay" has been ok so far😅
ill be completely honest i never cared much for chicken salad but love fertilizing my garden with chicken poop 😂😊hope u got a chuckle from that. but seriously, thanks for sharing this. many many issues, no one wants a leaky tank, gas way to expensive there days i know rec fuel here is 5.99 a gallon. i heard you say farmertec i wonder if the holtzforma are the same as well, and how common these issues are. that hole was clearly off center and the fuel filter thing i had no idea about that. sometimes i cant look and think at the same time either. i mean all the time. i just call it flying blind 😆😆 cheers brother hope you have a blessed weekend. thanks again for sharing the knowledge, and nutshots 😊😊
Would oem parts cost a fortune or the price of a new saw? I personally hate chinese made anything ill avoid it as much as possible, do you think every single piece of a stihl pro saw is german made?
Stihl is a global company. I can't say that 100% of the parts on pro saws are made in Germany. For the most part all of the pro line up is made in Germany. The only pro saw I've seen not made exclusively in Germany is the 362. The first digit of the unit is the country of manufacture. 1 is Germany, 2 is USA, 3 is Brazil and 8 is China. I think 5 is Austria, some say 5 is USA. I've seen in the past a full list 1-9 but couldn't find it with just a quick search. Parts are silly expensive nowadays, just like everything else. the tank and recoil housing from Stihl would have been over $250. This is a rare instance where I'll use aftermarket parts.
the stihl clone recoils are very hit and miss. I have a 066 clone that overall is a decent saw, but when shit breaks, I replace it with oem. My recoil was a good used part and works great of course.
Exactly. This seems to be the best of both worlds. Even taking the extra time to strip out the crappy pieces and replace with the used factory parts, I still saved the customer a ton of money without sacrificing reliability.
I don't think there's much of a step between the original OEM sthil chicken poop and the Chinese chicken poop. When working on these things I quickly realized that the Chinese had to work with a piss-poor cheap OEM design to begin with. And then try to manufacture it cheaper than they did the first time lol. Great videos 👍.
Yup, Chinese junk, seen it a lot. Customers trying to save a buck & wind up spending even more. Got to turning 'em away when they brought in those parts.
Dude, you have some of the best videos on RUclips
For some folks, what you did there is a good option. I run 194t, 461, and 661. I would spend the big bucks on them, and go with all stihl parts.

Gotta be a bit pissed if a Chinese chicken poops in your chicken salad🤣 Nice job Richard👍🇦🇺
Those Chicom parts might be the best part of that Stihl. Woops did that come out of my mouth. 😊😊

Pffffttt. My father went by the name Dick. He's been dead for 24 years. I've always answered to Ricky, Rick, Rich, or Richard.

I appreciate your insights on the Chineseium parts.
Chinese part’s definitely add to the frustration

@richardflagg3084 thanks for the info 👍🏻
Lol, them aftermarket parts are definitely hit and miss for quality. Especially the assys. Ha ha! 5:45
Love your content !!
One would think they could get closer tolerances on a clone.
Rich nice vid and lots of good info.
Thank you!

Rewind lacks a lot. Used a few of these and won't order another. Stihl is a little too proud of their stuff...

Interesting, I still can’t bring myself to use Chinese made anything, been burned too many times. Not chainsaw related…
Cranking out the videos!
