    I've got 17,000 rounds through my MDRX in .223 and almost 12k in .308. I've had 2 jams that I would blame on the rifle itself. Easily the most reliable and accurate bullpup I've ever owned. So much so that I sold almost $11k worth of other bullpups because I no longer use them.

    I was looking forward to ordering an SRS. But when I went to order one, I was distracted. I bought a MDRXCOM in .308 on the wall. I also ordered the .223 Wylde barrel kit. And if that kit ever shows up. I would also buy the 6.5 Creedmoor kit. I do not like the .300 blackout, but would consider a .350 Legend kit. And this from a guy that prefers bolt action rifles.
    It would be nice if a 6.8 Western barrel kit gets made. But I do like the bullpup design. And have a bullpup shotgun, as some of my family also have bullpup shotguns. The bullpup is an excellent design.

    Clearly biased and unfair. You must send me both rifles immediately so we can get 3rd party testing completed! Haha all joking aside, good shooting! I bet that MDR was a lot harder to run than the A2 at that range but you made it look easy. Keep it up guys!

    Put a AR style dirt cover on the MDRS-SE and rethink the bolt so that it can 'be turned easier (faster procedure) to eject to the left port. If done? You will have the best Bullpup ever.

    Are you planning to bring out an MDR 6.5 with side ejection like the 5.56 model?
    I love the features, but I can't get over forward ejection without chamber access

    • @groeszs
      @groeszs 4 года назад +3

      I don't understand all the hate for the FE. Without FE, isn't the MDR just like any other bullpup that could be had for less $$?

      @@groeszs
      KISS - keep it simple & stupid
      With forward ejection you add more complexity and increase your failures to eject
      And you make brass checks impossible without removing the cover - you don't know if you've got a hot weapon or not

    • @gamelord1000
      @gamelord1000 4 года назад +3

      @@darthhelmet8532 My forward eject works perfectly, no failures at all. You can check the chamber by pulling the bolt back a little and peering into the square hole in the ejection chute, it is obvious if there is brass there or not, its not as easy to see as an AR, but the MDR is not an AR. If you have to physically check the chamber with your finger or chamber flag (like on a range or somewhere that someone else needs to verify quickly), you can pop the side panel off in less than a second, check chamber and then snap it back on. In a SHTF scenario, checking for an empty chamber is never needed, chamber that bad boy and throw lead. You can check chamber after the morgue has been notified. I feel the forward eject gives you a lot more advantages over the side eject. Still, it would be nice for some if the SE models were available in all calibers, I just don't see getting it for myself. I like the forward ejection.

    That SRS is no joke! You can watch the round as it sails toward the target. The MDR has too much recoil to tell where the shots are going. What causes the SRS to have so much less recoil?

    • @theroncameron2426
      @theroncameron2426 4 года назад +3

      Steve the SRS is suppressed so the blast from the muzzle is greatly reduced. The camera shaking from the MDR is due to the muzzle break shaking the scope cam. The camera shot isn’t through the rifle being fired.

    • @DesertTechUT
      @DesertTechUT  4 года назад +4

      the SRS is heavier for one, but the suppressor also adds weight and slows the kick. its actually the muzzle blast from the compensator that's shaking the camera.

  • @kumarsalib722
    @kumarsalib722 4 года назад +1

    Reshoot the MDR with the camera out of the blast?

    • @DesertTechUT
      @DesertTechUT  4 года назад +5

      for sure, Im thinking next time we'll just do a straight MDRX at 1000 with various ammo types, and suppressor to see how it does.

      @@DesertTechUT Let me know if you need a donor rifle or Marine shooter to test with. I just bought a used MDR from a Green Beret friend and couldn’t be happier. Now it’s time to get all the barrels and test them out at some distance with suppressors. Great work on the future of firearms.
