That’s why I will remain positive I know it’s health and it can be tough that’s why I’m grateful my folks letting stay home for now so I can study and work not worry about paying rent most people don’t have that lol 😂
Bro that’s true
I say if your able to stay with your parents and you guys get along I say that because when we become adults they don’t always get along but anyways if you can stay with your people while in school that’s the best and smartest investment!
Especially after your done and get your degree you can save up and either move out or pay your school loans off if you have any.
I love your channel! 💗

Thank You bro and thanks for watching ✊🏽
I've always been more book smart than practical, which is why my anxiety is up. I know that this is a very hands on program. I start next month. I've been watching some x ray videos and I'm wowed about how they know exactly where every bone is located for xray positioning. Is palpating people and finding the precise location of bones/ribs/vertebrae etc difficult? Lol I've tried palpating on myself for practice, but I have no idea if I'm even correct!
You are going to do fine & no it’s not hard I promise & you will need to redo X-rays from time to time that’s part of the field you will never always get a good image sometimes it takes 2 X-rays or more to get what you need on an X-ray image.
Your going to do GREAT 🙏🏽💯

Hello! I’ve just signed up for MRI tech courses! This post was very insightful! I was wondering if you ever were nervous about radiation! I am prepared to start my career, but I think this is the main thing that holds me back. The fact it can increase cancer rate (though I know there is no significant evidence to prove this) it is like an instilled fear at the moment. Or maybe I am just psyching myself out!
Well as far as MRI Tech you will never be exposed to radiation because MRI is magnetic 🧲 so NO RADIATION at all.
Now for general Radiology there are some rules when exposing radiation & you also have to wear a radiation badge that is sent out every 3 months to measure your radiation absorption and it’s at super low rates that you receive radiation.
Yes radiation can cause Cancer but also Radiation Therapy kills Cancer🤔 ( Catch 22 ) 🤷🏽♂️
Also thank you for watching and I’m glad my video helped you 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Good luck in your new career path it’s well worth it 😊
What would be the hardest part of this career? I do not want to cut corners!
@@jackysandoval1060 Anything in the medical field is tough after a while because all you deal with is sick patients ALL DAY!
That’s honestly the hardest part, but also if you work for a hospital there’s working evenings, overnight, weekends & being on-call all that you have to take into consideration when working at a hospital.
You also have the option to work at outpatient centers too.
Haha sorry for all the questions! I was wondering how intense was school for you? And what school did you attend?
thank you for sharing
Thank You so much for watching 🙏🏽❤️

It totally is a lot of work to get to this ! Been in college 4 years for just general & now I’m going to berly apply to the 2 year program is so hectic hard takes lots of time are clinical hrs are 1850
Absolutely!
It’s not as easy as some would think 🤔
People are like “all you do is press a button all day” but some don’t see all the anatomy, physics and just general knowledge needed to get your degree & then have to pass a national registry 🤷🏽♂️
But I’m proud of you for taking this route it won’t be easy but it’s worth it!

I'm 29, currently work in IT, and I've been thinking about changing career to a radiology technologist. I'm thinking going to MD then Radiology too but the school takes too long and there are no student loan feature in my country...
What do you think about it? Am I too late to start?
Bro it’s funny that you say that because I have been in the Radiology field for over 10 years & I need a career change.
After a while you get burnt out no matter what career you choose.
Honestly Radiology has provided me a great life and it’s never to late you can make good money and if you get certified in other modalities like CT & MRI.
Just remember that in the medical field your exposed to all the pandemics that come and in IT you don’t have to worry about that so it’s definitely something different & something to think about.
Anymore question I’m here bro 😎
Very nice.

You're right I am super excited to pick this field. xD but sadly I can't get a bachelors degree in my area or I don't think my community college transfer credit for at least that field. I would love to get a bachelor's in RAD TECH and become an MRI Tech
Well to be honest you don’t need a bachelors degree in Radiology unless you want to be a manager.
I have mine and don’t even use it 🤷🏽♂️

Kenny
I totally understand & your journey is still possible.
Remember it’s going to be tough at times but you have to have discipline, motivation & consistency in order to succeed.
You will probably start with 25-30 students and at the end only be left with 10-12.
Stay focused 💯
good👍👍
🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️
👍👍👍
Siick🔥👍🏽
Thanks bro
I’m trying to reach your stato✊🏽🔥
Let’s keep working 💪🏽
What would school life be like with kids when starting the program? Do you think its doable?
Absolutely!
Will it be a little harder....yes but it honestly comes down to Time Management.
Making a work schedule at home for things that need to be completed including study time of course.
Also remember that you will have to go to clinical at a hospital and if you have kids making sure someone can pick them up.
Things like that but definitely doable 🙏🏽✊🏽
What if you already work in a hospital and you have access to that department and possibly a relationship with the radiology department can't you do your clinicals if you're already working in the hospital or it has to be at the schools
Yeah if the hospital approves it and if your school is affiliated.
Some hospitals have contracts with certain schools and they just don’t let any school do clinicals wether you work there or not.
I’m 27. Already have a bachelors in a completely different field but hate it. I want to go back and really only need one semester for pre reqs. I’m in a fork in the road for sure. Do you think it’s too late to start over in this way?
No way!
Your never to late I went to Radiology school when I was 26 and finished when I was 28 so no your fine.
Make sure this is what you really want.
Do your research or ask me questions
I’m in the early stages of the program but I love night shift
That’s awesome I did night shift for a while and yes it’s honestly the best shift!
Good luck in your program 🙏🏽✊🏽
Hi I am interested in becoming a rad tech.
Right now I’m just doing prereq should I be doing anything to prepare myself before applying for the program? I really want to work in the medical field but right now I’m unsure what the next step is for me. I love helping people. I am worried that I might struggle or make alot of mistakes but I still would want to learn .
As long as you get prerequisites out the way that’s good. You don’t want to study 📚 ahead when you can change career choices along the way.

Honestly no be yourself and tell the truth they can read you.
Good luck 🍀
You’ll be a great tech ☢️ 🙂

Thank You 🙏🏽 ❤️
I’ve been thinking about this program lately I would like to know if this field allows you to advance
Great Question!
Ok so it will allow you to advance as far as more modalities like MRI, CT possibly Ultrasound.
Now as far as management those are hard to come by because once someone becomes manager or supervisor they usually have the best schedule & shifts so they done leave those positions.
SO if I were to go into X-ray , how long do these different modalities take ? are they just extra courses or can I get certified online?
Ok so yes it’s extra classes but if you become a Radiology Technologist first & work at a hospital they can agree to cross-train you into those modalities.
Also, follow me on instagram “JuanMotiv8s” you can DM me anytime with questions 🙏🏽
How many prerequisites classes did you have to take before applying ?

I have a question about going to school to become a Rad Tech. Is there any difference going to school to be a Rad tech, for the certificate program or associates? I was thinking of going for an associates in Radiography, in which it’s accredited program is the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, JRCERT. I had thoughts of doing a certificate in MRI technologist instead maybe… not sure. The whole point is, does it matter which route I take whether certificate or Associate?
Hi Dariel,
Ok so I have never seen just a certificate radiology tech program.
The short ones are Radiology Basic tech which I don’t even think they do anymore because it’s worthless in real life.
Basic techs can only do extremities work so don’t even look into that if they still offer that.
So to become an MRI tech you technically have to be a Radiology Tech first and then you can either cross train or go to MRI school directly and get trained.
So I don’t think you can go straight into MRI tech I could be wrong but I don’t think so.
Also don’t go to a Private school always choose the state or community college route it may take longer but it’s way cheaper and your credits will always transfer that’s another can of worms….Lol
Hope I helped if not ask away and I will answer your questions as soon as I can 🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@juanmotiva8s959 I may need to ask information about the associate degree program. I go to a college called Middlesex County College in New Jersey. There is a certificate program in MRI Technologist in Aims Education in New Jersey. The MRI certificate program says they prefer that you have an associate degree.
The reason I asked about my question was because I was about to do Medical assistant as a back up. When I analyzed the courses needed to fulfill the medical assistant program, there was no difference whether I go for an associates or certificate. The only real difference is that the associates degree, you have to take English, humanities, and a computer course. That’s really it… I saw that and my thoughts were, “I prefer the certificate program than a associates degree.” Why, because all of our humanity courses, English courses, and etc should just be done in high school. It all depends on what the individual is going to college for, but schools make money for courses we already took in high school.
Thank you for the help by the way!
@@darielbaez948 I know what you mean. Well don’t do Medical Assistant for sure they don’t pay enough but that’s my opinion.
Also I suggest going for Radiology Tech first and then go to MRI and the reason I say that is Radiology Tech is the primary modality.
So for instance if you go straight into MRI after you get your BA and say I don’t like MRI anymore I want to do regular X-rays.
Well then you would have to go to school for the whole 2 years but if you start in Radiology Tech and then say I don’t like xray anymore I want to do MRI then it’s easier because MRI school is only 3-6 months.
So that’s something to think about it.
I’m always here 🙏🏽
Super like pra voce
Thank You so so much 🙏🏽❤️
im 17 just graduated and im enrolled in a 23 month rad tech program im nervous asamf
Yo!
That’s super dope bro!
You’ll be fine just know that you will have to study and sacrifice friend time/hanging out but in 2 years you’ll be a professional and making decent money!
I’m here to help, also follow me on Instagram “jreactz863” DM any questions you might have I got you ✊🏽💯💯
I was thinking about signing up for
Radiology technology classes
How’s much do you make after you get your certification?
Honestly it depends on your state.
I live in FL & we start off between $23-26 per hour NOT counting shift differential.
I'm going to community college to get an associate's degree. After I get it, what am I supposed to do to become a certified radio. Tech.
If your looking to get into the Radiology Technologist Program you would have to look at that schools prerequisites they recommend to get accepted.
Most will recommend Anatomy 1 & 2 with Lab, microbiology, medical terminology, College Algebra.
Once your accepted into the program it takes 2 years.
Make sure that the college is accredited with JOINT COMMISSION & is ARRT CREDITED so you can sit for your boards .
May I ask what’s the difference between a radiologist tech vs a radiation therapist ?
Absolutely
A Rad Tech does exams for fractures and more
Radiation Therapist works with cancer patients and emits radiation to kill cancer cells
@@juanmotiva8s959 ok great thank you
@@bryanmcb19 My Pleasure 🙏🏽
Hi, I’m basically finishing up the prerequisites to enter the program. I'm currently finishing up medical terminology and I absolutely hate it because of the insane workload. The teacher doesn't teach, doesn't provide any notes, Power Points, or even worksheets. I'm basically making my own worksheets/Power Points from scratch, and rewriting the entire book to teach myself.
Im responsible for about 150-280 (sometimes even at 350 ) medical terms a week and about 80-120 pages of the medical terminology book that I have to read weekly to prepare for weekly exams. I basically have to memorize everything in the book. I’m currently passing this class with a 99% but i’m immensely miserable. With that being said, is the workload for the Radiology (rad tech) program as crazy or even crazier than this? Should i expect to basically teach everything myself? I haven't had time for myself at all during this semester. I haven't taken a break at all from studying ( i study about 4-6 hours everyday). What exactly is being taught? Anatomy? Physiology? Pathology? Are we responsible for all of the other bodily systems as well ? I know physics is something that's taught in the program and I'm not looking forward to that either. Do we need to absolutely know everything by verbatim?
Hello 👋 Dolan,
Ok so unfortunately YES the Rad Tech program is tough just like most programs.
Usually a Rad Tech Program starts with about 25-30 students and about 10-12 end up finishing the program. It’s tough but not impossible.
It’s too much to explain on here so follow me on Instagram if you have one “jhernandez863” dm me and I can explain better.
If you don’t it’s ok good luck and I will try to make a video about how difficult the program is. 🙏🏽✊🏽
I want to back to school and so this but I’m really bad with math how hard it’s this courses
You don’t have to be good at anything to be honest …JUST MOTIVATED & COMMITTED!
If you got that you will do just fine🙂
Very insightful! Thank you for taking the time and resources to do this. Is it possible you can get me a course material? I’m planning to join radiology school. Just wanted to refresh my mind since I was away from science classes for quite long. I know I would pick up. Also I’m considering the BSC program for radiation therapy/radiology. Is this a proper path to follow what’s you advice? I appreciate the help. NB: I’m GED from out of the states. I’ve Bachelor of Arts in unrelated field of study from Ethiopia, but that doesn’t count here.
What’s your goal
Radiation Therapy or Radiology Technologist ?
@@juanmotiva8s959 I want to end up being a radiologist. So I would go with rad tech.
Nope
You would want to go to Medical School to become a Radiologist.
Radiology Technologist only takes images but we don’t have the authority to give a patient a diagnosis.
Only Radiologist do and those are medical doctors that specialized in Radiology.
Total schooling = 12 years
@@juanmotiva8s959 I am aware of that, thank you. I was saying I want to do 4 years of BSC In radiography or rad tech whichever is applicable and then go to medical school for another 4 years to become a doctor. Then I’ll pursue my radiology residency.
Honestly that would be a waste of time to go into Radiology if your goal is to become a Doctor.
Just go straight for MD.
Now do you need at least 80% on every rad tech test while in the program in order to pass it?
Hi Calin
Every program is different some schools say 80% & some are 75%.
I’m order to successfully pass the ARRT Registry you will need a 75%.
