I picked my 400d with a grip and cf card very cheaply in mint condition too. I love this camera as I prefer its limitations; it's just like shooting with a traditional 35mm slr. There are plenty of ef lenses at a reasonable price for this camera too. If your posting your pics on flicker or any of the other social media platforms then 10 megapixles is a good start. Great video too.

I bought an xti a few months back, got it on ebay for $120, and got a nice zoom lens for it. As someone new to photography, I'm producing some truly lovely images. Really, all it's missing are the bells and whistles (Bluetooth, live view, etc). Still a treasure.
If you’re new to photography the bells and whistles aren’t important in my opinion. The XTi brings it back to basics in a way and that’s probably the best way to learn. Keep going with it and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

The 400D is pretty capable. I have a 100Q film camera. Runs the EOS stuff so it works with everything else. Not analogue but still fun to use now and then.

I have such a hard time understanding this video due to the audio since English isn’t my first language it’s even harder to understand since it’s all muffled.. I have the canon 400d since it released back in 2006 I believe and havent used it in yearsss. So I was wondering if it’s still any good or is it time to get rid of it.. Was thinking of starting to use it again but if it’s no good I will get ride of it and look for something more from this time.
Yeah it was bad mic placement on my part. Trying to keep warm and I had the mic under my jacket 🤦🏻♂️ It’s not a bad camera but there are, of course, better options due to its age. I’d take it out and have some fun with it before replacing it though. After all, a camera is a camera.

Cool 😎, I'm still rocking my 600d and 6d mk1 with original mk 1 versions of the ubiquitous 24-105L and 17-40L also a 50mm stm, and as a hobbyist albeit with a few sales here and there over the yrs, I need no more gear except my tripod 2flashes and triggers, I am still really happy with the image quality I can get out of my RAW files and also the jpeg Snaps I send to family of my kids, As and when eventually my kit fails I will prob consider treating g myself to something less heavy, I do have an M3 with m22/f2 on front on a hook in the lounge as a shared family camera but truth be told I prefer my phone over that, Enjoy the low winter sun! Nice shot choice/s👍

@@ChrisBaitsonPhoto The 7D with 70-200 2.8 used to be my goto combo for group days out when the the kids were younger , the fast shutter speed made it almost hard to miss the best moments but I was alway on the outside looking in rather than joining in, Sold mine to fund Tokina 100mm macro, Borrowed a 16-35 from recently, crazy how much that 'little bit' makes it a total different beast, definitely unable to upgrade anytime soon and not been able to get out due to health issues recently but hoping springtime will be all on the mend and back out adventuring with with my clan and camera Happy new year 👍

The 400D doesn’t have this. It’s called live view but the camera doesn’t have the feature.
