Hey..... ive ridden a few bikes and i just cant fault the roadstar. Bullet proof engine and old fashioned styling. I lowered the seat, pushed the foot boards forward and raised them a little also raised the fuel tank.... just gives the bike a chesty look. Get one, nuff said
hey sparky... sorry you think the vid is boring....? i imagine you dont ride....? the vid is half an hour of a 3 hour tyre wearing frame scraping blast and on that day i will admit i slowed down a bit as i had a friend following.... didnt want to loose him. as you go over the mountain there is a 300 metre drop down into the valley, so it kinda gets your attention. i know if you came on the ride you would not think it was boring.......... : )
Well 1600 was more than enough for me, fell in love with road star as soon as i fired it up. Actually wasn't looking for a bike..... just drove passed it sitting outside a motorcycle shop. Next thing im sitting on it, the shop owner comes out with the key and says start her up...... bam bam, i said how much and then said ill buy it. Now i have 2 and a spare motor.... you will love it. Haven't uploaded anything for ages as i have moved out to the country and kinda homesteading.
glad you liked it... i often watch the video when i cant get out, feels like i am there......... come for a ride ruclips.net/video/lCQ4ARJMDJk/видео.html
I own a M109 07 and I'm looking at boots similar to yours. They are expensive so I'm checking out eBay for motocross boots....and Cash Converters, too! Happy grinding mate...
I see you are another rider who thinks the heel toe shifter is a dumb idea. I have the same bike and never use the heel. I had a Kawasaki that when you used the heel it went directly in to neutral, now that was a great idea.
You have made your video no longer than 3 minutes....ditch the floorboards and go with forward controls instead to get rid of the twisty scrapping.....just saying...
not sure what you mean.... the vid is over 34min, love floorboards pegs give you sore feet and ankles on long rides...... as far as the scrapping goes..... the boards are not the only thing that scrape, the bottom of the frame and sometimes the exhaust system. my bike has not been lowered its just not a sports bike and boy do i love it.... 1600 cc of torque
actually the boards are my limiter... that stop me being too stupid on public roads, i remember on my GSX-R 750 it use to be my boots and i got sick of making holes in them
I have an '02 ROADIE 1600 , and the forward control pegs are no problem on long rides, down here in Texas, it's a long ride to anywhere, and my bike is lowered down by 1-3/4" from stock, and no scrapping on the frame, or exhaust, either, not, even on the kickstand carriage....and we have lots of twisties on the open road in our Hill Country, so, don't know why your exhaust or frame scape......I love the lower center of gravity on the bike, now, and it hugs the tightest of twisties...and I have a lowered after potato chip saddle, which places me in the bike, rather, than on it....
Too cramped with the floorboards, as I am a 6', I enjoy the stretched out feel of the forward controls/pegs, and on longer cruises, I just rest the ankles on the controls for even more stretch...the Roadie is a great bike, and with a stage 1 set up, over stock, I get about 10% more torque and power on the open road...
hey... i actually sold some of my art to a guy visiting from Texas, i know what you mean with the lowered seat... i have made my own with only 6mm of foam and some sheep skin. i first tried riding around with the seat off sitting on the battery and yeah i felt like i was sitting in the bike. i have put on v&h longshots and dont scrape them like i did the stock pipes (stage4). i also run Brisk spark plugs BOR14LGS briskaustralia.com.au/spark-plugs/racing-and-tuning/brisk-premium-and-premium-racing i could hear and feel the difference, also run a dyna 3000. i have moved my floorboards forward about 50mm and lifted them 10mm the larger tires i run also gave me 6mm more in height.... that said the ride i posted is not normally a cruise and i really have to lean the R over, i guess if you lean it enough everything will scrape. you must know RSC forum...? i had some really good posts on it until photobucket got greedy and blocked out all the pics (masterhermit)
Aleksei Mikojan the roadstar makes many noises.... one of which is a cherp when you first decelerate using engine compression, it happens when the weight shiffs to the forks and for some reason....? the front brakes will cherp. i own two roadstars and my son also owns one and they all make the same cherp under decel...? go figger :)
2020 wanting a roadstar for sure
My heart jumped when I saw the vehicles approaching. We drive in the right. Lol. Nice video. Makes me want this bike even more.
