I've been constructing paddles in my head completely the wrong way. Thank you for this!

You have a very positive and realistic view of Armature Radio which you demonstrate in each of your vids. You're a good role model for both the youngsters and the older OMs and can show the 'Hot Shots' a thing or two.
Your QRP-Portable Ops are an insperation for me and have been instrumental in my decision to purchase a 40Mtr QRP-Labs QCX Kit, which I'm just a few hours away from completing it's assy.
When it's done and the EFHW is operational in my appartment (HaHa), I'll fab your Ultra-Simple Iambic key and start working to get back to where I was several years ago.

And all this for a collection of cards.

+Guardian Observer No, I don't collect cards, or contacts for that matter. I communicate, socialize, experiment.

Socialize? Please. Unless you are living in a different planet than mine, in the bands there is not such think. "i bought the new radio, the new antenna, and its way better than the old one" , and crap like this. The only Socialize I heard was outside the bands and you could listen normal people speaking normal.

+Guardian Observer You are right about the deplorable fact that most hams today are only interested in logging contacts. If I said what I thought about it here RUclips would censor me for foul language. Socializing is possible though, but it takes time and patience. I have made friends in this hobby, albeit only a handful, but glad I did. We do arrange skeds. The internet helps. Also, like you can't learn to swim on the beach, you can't learn radio by reading about it only. This channel is about survival radio and community building, not amateur radio, DX or contesting...

Gil, Why not grind off the sharp teeth along edges before assembly? Just enjoy the gnarly appearance?
