    Really appreciate you posting this. I was told to do a job like that they would have to drop the motor out of my Mustang if there ever is a lash adjuster or roller rocker issue. This is a huge help. I suspect I am getting some noise from the passenger side which hopefully is nothing more than lazy tensioners on the chains.

    • @theracecarlife9023
      @theracecarlife9023  Месяц назад +1

      @@airflow_concepts yep! If you have a 5.0 it’s exactly like this, so is the 4.6 and 5.4 but you can change the phasers like this on those motors too. Tensioners on the 5.0 are pretty crappy and there are 4 total. There’s an upgrade kit you can buy for the uppers that tensions the correct side of the chain. Either way never a need to pull the motor on a mustang for timing, a Camry though, that’s another story.

    Doing this same type of repair when new lifter and rocker come in in on Monday but on exhaust cam rocker near the back. Very helpful video. I also have a 2019 F150. 140,000 miles. Is there any reason why I would not use new camshaft cap bolts?

    • @DavinBlomquist
      @DavinBlomquist 15 дней назад

      I ended up doing new bolts…they like $6 a piece. Cheap peace of mind. Followed factory torque spec…53 inch-lb on first pass then 45 degrees additional on 2nd pass.
      Dipstick tube has a tab facing front of engine. Use small flathead to push it in, then turn it ccw…pops out.

      @@DavinBlomquist they are considered “torque to yield” ie: they stretch when tightened, and a bolt can only be stretch so much before it is at risk of breaking. Oem recommends new bolts. Do you really want to find out what happens when they break on your motor?
