I remember this because this was the eighth episode of season 5, which aired on February 28, 2022.
This is definitely before that
Remember, he had a freak show where he vandalized the hospital pharmacy and he blamed the baby's death on Dr. Glassman and his soon to be married wife Leah. Also, this episode was the aftermath of the incident since the show went on hiatus for over 3 months.
@@bobm7250It’s because they had EXPIRED MEDICATIONS. That is so unprofessional and if they did have the right ones in the pharmacy, the baby wouldn’t have died.

in shaun's defense, when a person says they don't want to be with you because of your disability, it's pretty hard to forget, even if you forgive them.

Shaun is too good for her and she’s a terrible partner.
It's hard with an autistic person who remembers and reminding you of everything! Lea tries to live with him as a normal person, but Shaun's unintentional selfishness makes it impossible. And they love each other very much! They just haven't found a way to live together without problems!

No it's the other way round, she's a little bit selfish and Shaun is always ready to compromise regardless of her whims.As an ASD it's not easy to forget even we other people, don't forget.A heartbreak once isn't easy. it's the same as being told, " I don't feel like we are soulmates."

People like to pretend they understand how it's like to be with someone who has autism... they truly don't. They think it's a minor inconvenience that goes away with time. Guess what? It doesn't. She didn't even try to understand how things work from his side. She was selfish thinking that dating someone with autism is easy, but not only is it not easy, but it's a lifelong challenge.
When did she say it was easy? Wasn't the basis of the fight her saying she wouldn't date him because of his ASD because it would be too hard?

In my experience, there's no way a neurotypical can NOT be abusive to a person on the Spectrum.
Even parents of deeply affected Autism children have reacted and behaved atrocious when either the didn't know, or DID know I was on the Spectrum.
Always be on guard for your own mental health.
Married to a man with Autism for almost 19 years here. I'm absolutely not abusive to my husband, what I am also not is God, a perfect being that has infinite patience and strentgth. I am human too, I get overwhelmed and drained too. People on the spectrum cannot expect infinite perfection from neurotypicals. It took a while but my husband and I adjusted, we started focusing on what each other brought to the marriage instead of what the other couldn't bring and we are happy.
Something like this happened in Grey's Anatomy too. But Maggie didn't panic...she said give it a minute and just stood back and the patient heart started beating again.

As a person, a disability myself, this is so heartbreaking to see…. Eventually, they ended up getting married and having a baby. Real life this ever happened? happy ending for people with disabilities.. to say this gives me hope but then there’s the reality🥹
As someone dating someone with autism(who relates a LOT to Shaun), I’ll tell you that we have our unique challenges, but we are happy! We exist out here! :)

Life is full of pain for lots of people who don't have specific disabilities. Or maybe I should say we all have some type of disability. At least he had Lea and Dr. Glassman and a phenonimal I Q.

You are so right! I have ASD, too. People infer their thoughts and just expect me to read between the lines. I can't do that. One person at a time, I try to educate them. It's frustrating. 😥😔
@kathierouse6046 As someone who doesn't have ASD, I'd also just honestly like someone to tell me what they're thinking instead of playing mind or guessing games. Even if its something bad or that someone hates me. At least I know and I have closure or answers.
The good thing about Shaun is that he's always honest. Yes, brutally honest, which isn't always a good thing, but it's a good thing most of the time. There's times when you need fluff and times when you need tough.

Bothers me the way ASD person is portrayed as robotic. My husband, myself and three boys plus numerous relatives are on the spectrum... mainly high functioning and none talk or act in this stereotypical fashion. Maybe some stuttering or finding of the right words but to those who are on the spectrum most would find this way of speaking and movements offensive.
There are several different attributes people on the ASD spectrum could exhibit. Shaun's mannerisms being one of them. A single character could never portray or represent all autistic people world wide.

I am on the spectrum as well as I have several family members that are. I think what @kayhawkins5925 means is that you rarely see people on the spectrum portrayed any other way than characters like Shawn, or completely non-verbal. There's a huge spectrum but we don't see a spectrum in shows.

Savant syndrome caused people to process emotions differently and not rlly express them well so i think it’s pretty accurate

I stopped watching this show because how annoying and cuddled shaun is. Makes a hars watch.
He has a mental condition, that was the main script.
Shaun has a mental disorder. He is different. As an introvert, I can relate to him because his struggle to speak is similar to my struggle to speak with strangers.

I have ASD and I never dated anyone but I only can imagine that for a partner it should be a little difficult to deal with that personality.
